The Most Playful Life Purpose! Advice/feedback Wanted

10 posts in this topic

I intend on keeping this as short and concise as possible and I appreciate any positive feedback you have to give.

I started working on the life purpose course a few months ago and I've reached the point in the course of Life Purpose Examples. (From reading other posts it seems like people get stuck around this area in the course) I found my zone of genius, the impact I want to make, and a general sense of my domain of mastery. As of now I'm struggling to choose an ideal medium and bring everything together. I'm hoping some of you can give me advice based on what I have so far.

ZoG: My ability to bond with others through playfulness and laughter... I found this interesting because my signature strength from the strengths assessment was humor and playfulness. One of my top passions in life is having uncontrollable, hysterical, belly laughter with others as well as engaging in playful activities with others such as sports, dancing, running in the rain, etc...

Impact Statement: Bring a childlike happiness into others lives... Have you ever been in a room with a child or a baby who's laughing their tail off? They radiate such a positive energy that even the most grumpy person cannot resist smiling. I want to radiate happiness the way a child does. Again, I found it interesting how this impact sort of feeds into my signature strength.

Domain of Mastery: Enlightenment/Consciousness Work/Happiness... I'm  not exactly sure how to phrase it but I do know that the top priority of my life should be to get enlightened. Anyone who has read The One Thing by Gary Keller should know that if you chase two rabbits you won't catch either one. I can't see myself pursuing enlightenment and another domain at the same time and being successful. I've never met an enlightened person, however I have heard they give off a positive energy to the people around them.

Ideal Medium: I've pondered multiple things for this such as; working with children, youtube podcast, yoga instructor(i've never done yoga but I heard its very playful), and leading laughing meditations. I'm still not exactly sure what medium is going to fit the best with my life purpose.

I feel like if I can find a medium that allows me to play with, laugh with, and bring happiness to others then it will all start to click.

Is there anything that stands out to you as to what mediums I should look into?

Have any of you struggled with finding the right medium and what lead you towards finding the right one?

Thanks in advance.

@Leo Gura

thats really interesting!

i think you have came up with a pretty good answers on the exercises. on the ideal medium, it could be a bit challenging, at least in my case. There's practically thousands of possible mediums out there. In my experience, it took me lots of dabbling within the areas of my interest like 2 years to come up with my niche and ideal medium where i could monetize my passion. I am not sure with others, but i am sure you can ultimately find your ideal medium :)

@Slade Have you considered stand-up comedy? That might be right up alley.

You could definitely make a successful niche in spiritual/enlightenment + stand-up. That would bring a new twist to an otherwise low-consciousness field.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura @Leo Gura

I've considered it a little bit because public speaking is one of my biggest fears. Some of my friends say they could see me doing it and after hearing it from you I think I'm going to have to give it a shot! Haha Thank you.

@mathieu When you were dabbling for 2 years was there anything you noticed that helped lead you towards your ideal medium? Did you have any fears or emotions that pulled you towards choosing one or was it just pure luck that you found it?

lol. thanks for asking that. Just do what really amazes you, things that really ignites your curuoisity. You will come up with lots of desires when you do your research and exploring other people.

here are some possible careers I have dabbled:

- being a Mentalist (lol)

- being a Graphologist (man! I still have lots of insight in this field)

- psychologist (like the cognitive psychologist, dealing with the eye and the brain)

- FBI agent / Spy (lol) i love how FBI cops work on the psychological level

- non-verbal intelligence specialist - i have read dozens of books about this lol

- Author - yeah like the inspirational authors out there, but I found im not a good writer. sloppy english lol

- Educator - i also love tutoring kids and my peers

- CEO of a non profit org, maybe someday

-Public speaker - i also dabbled on toastmasters. but the ego just got bigger in that field

- Researcher - i just love researching

- Mindmapper - i have made a personal blog posting mind maps but I discontinued it after dozens of posts. a small bet, then lost interest. :)

- Graphic designing - works perfectly for me (my current career right now). but not the general category of graphic designs (lots of specialization in this field) so I had to find whats authentic to me again

-- logo design - good but not too grandiose

-- website, brochures - not really authentic to me

-- information design - MAN! That is me! lol but not the general field of information design that makes typical infographics, so i specialize again in this category of making diagrammatic illustrations, a bit similar to mindmap.

now, i work with writers needing illustrations and with this man i met online (the gateway man), on a marketing department of a big company. they really love what i do. lol

but hey I studied engineering in college. fuck that. lol

@mathieu Wow that's awesome! haha Thank you that definitely helps.

I'm really interested in synergistic ways of socializing. I've noticed this especially when I'm laughing with girls. There's something that happens with how receptive the feminine is with eye contact and laughter that creates this channel for positive energy to flow through. Somehow the space between us in the interaction becomes a sort of sanctuary for presence and joy to arise and it feels fucking amazing. Haha I get this glistening look in my eyes and my whole face lights up smiling. Rather than how some forms of socializing can leave you feeling drained afterwards this way gives me so much energy is insane.

I'm going to follow this and see where it takes me. Thanks again!
