Triggered Gender Movement

I don’t think your broader point of dysfunction in relationships being equal is as fair though.

It's probably because you didn't date women.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

What makes you say that?

With something like this you have to base your argument on stats over personal experience because basically no single individual has an unbiased sample large enough to generalise into an effective argument.

If you had 3+ relationships with dysfunctional women that probably says more about you than it does about women. You would be the common denominator there.

This argument can be used to criticise the woman here too, and like I said, that’s totally fair. But you cannot then say it’s unfair for her to generalise her small personal sample size to all men while in the next breath doing the exact same thing yourself.

Are you saying women can be equally dysfunctional in relationships But it just doesn't happen as often as it does with men?

The reason I'm not talking about statistics is because they don't show that women are less dysfunctional.

What? This doesn’t even feel like you’ve read my last comment.

And no, I’m saying that broadly speaking rates of dysfunction are comparable (though the evidence is not that definitive as far as I can see) when we exclude abusive relationships and when we ignore the degree of the dysfunction.

When we include these, the rates and degree of dysfunction becomes extremely imbalanced towards women being the victim.

What? “I’m not showing statistics because they prove the argument I’m making”? I’m so confused by this last reply.

Statistics do not show that woman are healthier on average in relationships.

The confusion

  • Psychological dysfunction: How unhealthy is this person as a relationship partner?
  • Victimization: How much harm does this person experience from their partner?

One does not establish the other.

A person can be an extraordinarily dysfunctional partner without committing severe violence. A person can also be a victim of severe violence without being psychologically healthier than their partner in every other respect.

She talks about "de-centering men" as her main focus. And I get it.

It's just that "de-centering women" is the exact thing a man struggles with as well.

Centering someone is when:

  • You bend over backwards for them whenever they ask.
  • You constantly prioritize their needs, wants and happiness over your own.
  • You make their approval and validation central to your self-worth.
  • You change your personality, interests or lifestyle to keep them happy.
  • You tolerate behaviour you wouldn't normally accept because you're afraid of losing them.
  • You abandon your own boundaries to avoid upsetting them.
  • You organize your life around their availability, expectations and preferences.
  • You become responsible for managing their emotions.
  • You neglect your own goals, friendships and personal development to accommodate them.
  • You measure your own happiness by how happy they are with you.
  • You constantly seek their attention, affection and reassurance.
  • You excuse their bad behaviour while holding yourself responsible for every problem in the relationship.

Men do all of these things with women too.

It's the same psychological dynamic happening in reverse, but both sides of the gender war seem blind to it.

The reall issue is just the algorythmic and polarizing way that self-improvement/political content is framed online. It doesn't help anyone to have a chip on one's shoulder. She's a dating couch but who actually wants to date her seeing her like that? Its the same as those "dude trust me" channels about how all women are hoes and shit. Its red meat for the sexually frustrated. I have a strong intuition about avoiding that kind of content. Its a grift unironically.

@integral can you summarise your understanding of @something_else's points?

I agree with his take but I don't understand your responses

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

The gender war is not happening because women were abused and violence was done onto them.

Men are fighting the same gender war in reverse, blindly associating all of their Experiences to "women are crazy".

People have bad experiences in relationships and then associate everything to gender. = gender war
