I think guys tend to underestimate the damage rape can do to a women.

Many people put it on roughly the same level as murder. ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38267597/ ) 

Makes sense, if you are really damaged for the rest of your life afterwards and dont find joy in life anymore it can be the same or worse. 

I cant completly relate, thats a task for further development for me.

They should throw the book at him. I have done a lot of shit. But putting your hands on women, or manipulating women is the lowest. Outside of being a pedo.

But it could get a lot better. Imagine a place where pedos get professional help. I believe those exist, heard an advertisement once "no one needs to become an offender, seek help." Imagine a born pedo seeking professional help because he doesnt want to harm kids and through the combination of his effort and the effort of very openminded professionals he lives his life never remotely doing anything inappropriately. Aint that real spirituality?

@Jannes I don't think they seek help though.  They're too lost in the sickness. So we are left to deal with them in rhe prison system- after they have done damage.

That number could get higher if people treated pedophiles more nuanced, so in a way where they saw pedophilia strictly as a sickness and appreciated pedophiles when they took professional help.

50 percent? That seems high but that's encouraging at least. How many don't even know they are and they just do it.
