How do i feel amazing without needing psychedelics?

35 posts in this topic

Those are the exact ideas that drive a human to addiction I was there once I used to have this fairy tale of being high all the time and that I will be happy forever. That’s bullshit.. RUN!

You can’t be happy all the time that’s practically impossible. But you can be in peace and that is a big difference.

like leo said you have to surrender or you will be addicted forever and you possibly won’t escape your addiction letting aside running your life.

Tell me what do you exactly mean by feeling amazing ? We have to debunk this myth together to get you out of addiction before it crawls and grasp you by the palm.

these drugs are nasty. I don’t know how many people have ended in misery by consuming them but probably a lot but there could be exceptions of course but there is no guarantee that you will be the exception be careful

i just want to be able to embrace and love every possibility...to me that is real goodness, having no resistance and rigidity to life

That is not going to happen without heavy manual spiritual practice.

The thing you want is so rare and so hard that the work it requires, no one is willing to do.

You want the fruits without the work, which is a fantasy. Either get serious about the work or stop wanting the sweet fruits.

It is like you are saying, I wanna be a billiinaire but I don't wanna work hard. Can't happen.

Kriya yoga and/or hardcore meditation retreats. Serious mindfulness practice.

Eckhart Tolle sat on a park bench for a year. That is the work no one wants to do.

That’s great. You have goals and that’s amazing. I won’t shoot you in the foot for asking about a perfect life. I was there once, but it’s fairy tale because life will challenge your aspirations it sometimes will go wrong, unexpectedly wrong and if you have very high wish or standard of living that would mean you can get depressed so quickly. I want the best for you you have to let go of living a “Perfect” life there is no perfect in this world.

now getting back to the main topic.. you said feeling amazing would be about having good health and the ability to socialise sometimes let’s break them one by one.

i don’t think psychedelics are directly the number one reason that influences health possibly for most people. Agree or disagree ?

Second thing you talked about socialising. You are actually talking about one of the most crucial aspects of being a Human. I feel like you are using psychedelics to socialise. Did you have problems in the past to socialize before having psychedelics ?

third thing i want to mention is you stated in the post above that You know you are god. What do you mean by that ?

i never used psychedelics to socialize. i always take when im alone. sometimes with trip sitter or one friend.

i don't have problem in starting conversation with others and making friends outside, but sometimes i get very bored in social situations.

i'm god but i forgot that i'm god to live my own life with the identity of my ego.

That is not possible. That's a very wrong expectation.

You cannot always feel good because how will you feel when a psychopath spears you with a pitchfork?

Consciousness of God cannot guarantee you will always feel good.

Anything that feels good means you can feel bad. And every emotional high must end because it had a beginning. Emotions are inherently unstable.

Ironically, the solution is to surrender to the fact you will feel bad.

Gurus do not always feel good. They have stopped caring how they feel. That means they feel bad and they don't care.

You trying to escape or avoid bad feelings is an avoidance of Truth. Truth includes bad feelings.

Basically, just stop caring how you feel and pursue your life purpose and creative work.

Thats true but most people are living unconsciously with no optimization, there is a good baseline a healthy person can reach.

Most people have suboptimal default states.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

That's a good start. It won't be enough, but a good start.

You need to really appreciate the seriousness of your goal.

I had these thoughts too. Not the psychedelics thing, cause I have never done psychedelics, but feeling amazing all the time thing.

I searched and searched and thought about it many times. Unfortunately you can't feel amazing all the time because of hedonic adaptation. Your mind can't feel high all the time, it would destroy the organism and also the more high you get the less high you can get the next time. You can feel amazing at times but most of the time you can feel good assuming everything is good in your life.

Don't get me wrong, my mind is addicted to being high so I have internet addictions, but this is the theory.

There is a trap with hedonic adaptation. No matter how high you feel you will always want more, you will always want to feel high again. It will never be enough. I think the solution is feel amazing at times and then come back to good times.

The hedonic adaptation is like this. You get 1 like on facebook, you feel amazing, then you make more friends you need 10 likes, when you get them you want 100, 1000, 1000000. Even if 1 billion people like your photos you would still want 2 billion after a time. Hedonic adaptation exist for survival reasons, if you didn't adapt to the hedonism you wouldn't want more in life so you wouldn't survive.

When I see animes and video games I feel high, after getting used to them, I want break for some months before I am able to feel high again.

Drug addiction is the desire to always be high.

That way lies ruin. So be careful.

arent we all drug addicted but with different objects of desire? we all want some state of mind and we try everything to get there. isnt the ascetic monk also "addicted" to meditation? We have the power to choose to be addicted to non toxic things, like fasting, (that for example will make food taste better) meditation and exercise, and living ll be less miserable.

That really sounds responsible from your part that you have a trip sitter or a friend beside you when you trip. Great for now! But we want to break free from addiction because It’s not sustainable on the long term. Thing about sustainability is it sustainable to always have yourself thinking about when is the next moment I will trip ? Or how can I trip while sober? That is unsustainable you will always have yourself running in loops to get the drug. Really think about it. Is it a long term sustainable life ? If the answer is no. We/ you have to get you/yourself out from there.

you mentioned that you are god but forgot that you are god outside of your ego. Why do you say if you have forgotten yourself that you are god ? How is it possible that you forgot yourself but claim at the same time that You know you are god ? Why don’t you say otherwise ? Why don’t you say There is a god ? Why is it “I am god “ but i have forgotten myself within my ego. If you have really forgotten yourself why claim that you know you are god. Since you have forgotten yourself there is no way to know or to remember who you actually are.

third point. You talked about socializing being boring sometimes. My question for you is is it boring with everyone you meet or is it more interesting with some people than others ?

No.

But addiction comes in many kinds and degrees. The kind and degree matters a lot.

No. You are stretching too far.

i mean...the difference might be in the strenght of the individual's mind: a very weak person is addicted to the easiest things possible (like drinking alcohol is easy), while a strongest mind it ll be bored with alcohol so it wants to do something more challenging like hardcore exercise or at some higher levels a year on a bench ...
