How can I maintain a Higher State of Consciousness and Awareness?

8 posts in this topic

Yesterday I awoke from the numb, unconscious, auto-pilot mode that I've been operating from the last week or so, after smoking a joint to relax and unwind from life's recent stresses.

Now, I'm able to look at the world around me and marvel at its beauty. I'm open to receiving love from the people around me instead of being annoyed by their attempts to connect with me. I'm calm and inspired by the present moment and the potential of its future manifestations.

Things feel easy, aligned and divine.

That bubblegum haze hit different.

I genuinely feel like I awoke from a fog. Like, I've been on autopilot, executing, taking action.. mindless action, but not really being present with it all.

Yesterday's awakening gave me the insight to always have a book with me to read instead of doomscrolling when I get bored. It also got me to see that dating apps numb genuine human connection, which prompted me to delete them all and just focus on real life interaction instead. It's been such a gift so far and it hasn't even been 12 hours.

How can I stay in this state? How can I maintain it? What habits?

I eat fairly healthy; eggs in the morning, followed by a fruit smoothie with creatine a few hours later, then lunch and a very nutritional dinner. I down 2 magnesium tablets with a chamomile tea before bed and use a sleeping mask for maximum sleep quality. I weight lift and regularly bike.

What else can I do?

Maybe it's the water that I'm drinking. In the Netherlands, tap water is drinkable but I have encountered people in my life that told me not to drink it because it still contains shitty chemicals and isn't fully purified.

Sunlight and meditation in the morning. First one is not easy in the NL, I know, but when you can, it could help.

Also check if you chamomile tea is not served in bags with microplastics. Especially cause we pour boiling water on them, they release harmful chemicals.

And avoid eating 3-4hrs before bed to further boost sleep.

Sorry, bad framing on my end.

What I meant is the tea bag itself should not be made out of plastic. Because when heated it releases microplastics and chemicals occurring in plastics.

I don't drink tea, but personally I'd only trust buying the tea plants myself and then using my own tea bags or these stainless steel mini strainers — even better. Especially if it's something you do daily.

@Zenterus Rhonda Patrick has been quite vocal on the microplastics issue recently: https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/protect-against-microplastics

I wouldn't try to grasp or hold on to it, this will get you right back into the funk that you were in.

You got into the state that you were in precisely because you let go of the need to grasp or cling onto something.

Its very paradoxical.

One of the illusions is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. No man has learned anything rightly until he knows that every day is Doomsday.

It’s earned. You have to often times devote yourself to the things which shape your life in this way, right understanding, right action, inner child work, clarity of mind, etc. You have to look deeply, observe your environment and your unique life and chart your path upwards. I wouldn’t make it about trying to hold onto a feeling or state. More about empathy and understanding for your own unique situation and your right to be intrinsically valuable and authentic.

If this is an ongoing problem what I would recommend doing first is making an appointment with your GP (Huisarts) to get your blood checked. Within a couple of days you know what going on inside of your body.

A couple of pointers:

- The 'R' is back in the month again, sun hours are going down, more doom and gloom weather. Less sun is less vitamin D3. I'm really sensitive getting cold and getting the winter depression. I swallow some D3+K2 tablets to compensate for the lack of D3 being generated by natural sunlight.

- Magnesium can be overdosed and body and brain fatigue can be one of the symptoms. The blood test can point this out.

Be careful experimenting willy nilly with supplements, don't get your advise from influencers.

In the Netherlands the water companies (sometimes) add nutrients like Calcium, Natrium and Magnesium to tap water. So that makes it more healthy, it's also clean but nowadays there is a concern about microplastics and remnant medicine traces.
Do some research (beyond influencers) to see if you want to stick to tap water or you want to filter your water.

If you are going to filter your water, you can use a simple water filter can. You can also use RO (Reverse Osmosis), you can have good ones, or the ones they use where I usually live in the Philippines they filter everything is filtered out including the good nutrients. So I have to reintroduce these nutrients again, but this is not necessary with standard water in the Netherlands (unless filtered with RO)

I have been told at HEMA you can dried tea herbs for a decent price. Use a tea strainer/diffuser and you don't have to worry about microplastic tea bags anymore. Better for you better for the environment.

I realised that a change of climate towards a more tropical and more humid (yes I prefer more humid as an aquaman :)) works best for me. I'm here in NL now, I can feel the last two weeks my energy and mood dropping because of the shift towards autumn.

Good luck.
