Leo is the mentor I always needed but society never produced.

We need to bring back the idea of mentoring others. I had a parents, older siblings, uncles, aunts, older cousins, God fathers, God mothers, family friends, Scott leaders, sports coaches, elders in the church/community growing up.  BUT NOT A SINGLE ONE took a serious interest in me and the struggles I went through. Not a single one was interested in helping me to overcome obvious challenges. Not a single one gave me more than one or two sentences of advice. The advice or motivation I did get was pretty meager at best.

I say we need to bring back the idea of mentoring others around us who are struggling especially the younger people.  Many of those that are struggling are so desperate for any advice or help but are too insecure, depressed, or ignorant to ask for help. Many young people (not all) crave the advice and attention of adults but in my experience it is completely our of fashion for adults to do that. Not sure if adults are afraid of looking like pedos or what.

Please help those around you and spread  the same level love and motivation for learning and living that you guys have. Leo is a great example of a charismatic and non-toxic leader and motivator.

Do you guys agree that mentoring (in an official or unofficial capacity) is a good thing to do to young people?

Dont really worry about the what society needs to do as a whole. I would do precisely what Leo does and start your own community if you think you can help people solve problems. I run a few communities myself, it’s a very rewarding process.

For me it started out as more of a selfish goal of making money and raising my status but each time someone thanks me for helping them I get understand more the idea of intrinsically gaining pleasure from mentorship.

It’s also very validating to witness your ideas being able to work for own your life as well as others. It’s a superior form of intellectualism over simply theorizing.

I’ve gained a lot of value from Leo’s work and I find that a lot of internet mentors I’ve had lost value overtime where as Leo’s ideas seem to keep bearing fruits for me.

It's good but don't get paradigm-locked into a single source.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

You mean the single Source being actualized.org? I definitely don't do that you taught us to do the opposite and so I have.

Kind of weird to ask someone to be your mentor though, no?

Well it's weird because our society says it's weird. The Catholics have a tradition of asking someone to be your confirmation godfather at around age 13. Usually an older member of the community who you know and trust. But confirmation godparents rarely ever do anything of value in my experience. Probably because they aren't developed themselves. But also because it's not normal for people to mentor others.

And because it is weird, I am suggesting that we should try and be mentors to younger people around us who are obviously struggling. And I'm wondering if you guys think this is a good idea.

Building community is one thing and much harder than helping one or two younger people who are obviously struggling. Is this a good idea?

If you feel like you have value to offer then sure. We get acclimated to our own success and take it for granted but oftentimes we've figured out stuff that other people are still struggling with. Also there are different ways to offer value. You can create an accountability group for example that helps people reach their goals without any need to have any sort of expertise yourself besides offering others the value of your consistency.

What type of skills do you have that can help others? Or perhaps another way to word it is what problems do you think others have that you can solve?

I run 6 creative communities, 2 business chats and 2 investment communities at the moment. I also hosted a mastermind and a book club previously. Those formats didn't work particularly well so I retired them but the other ones are performing quite well to the point that I'm working on scaling them to other countries as a goal for next year.

@LifeEnjoyer you wouldn't word it like that but you can message people that you know that are skilled at something that you admire or even people that you don't know.

You can say something like "Hey man I really like how you're doing X or this Y piece of content that you posted the other day. I'm also into X, what're your thoughts on Z?"

Most people like talking about their interests so it's easier than you think to get their thoughts on it. To develop a deep 1 on 1 mentorship relationship with someone you usually have to pay them a retainer but not always.

I think all anyone who is struggling needs is encouragement, empowerment, and a reconnection to our innate love of learning, passion for life, optimism, and self confidence that we are born with and that society sometimes beats out of us. This is what Leo has helped me with and what I would like to help others with.

Have you ever shot content before? I think that is a message worth spreading. There is so much negativity online.

Sounds cheesy but be the change you wanna see in the world!

I think in-person mentoring is very weak in society today, but there are tons of mentors online. When people struggle, they go online and seek help, or even to the AI.

Individualism has created a society of people who do not want to accept that they need help, they just suck it up and go forward.

Yeah i gotta admit Leo's work is another level of quality. It totally changed my life just because of the synthesis of different points of view and timeless principles he carries. Also, to this day, the book list just astonishes me, idk how he found and filtered through some of the best books on the planet on major topics but idk if i would have found those myself.

Also, Leo introduced me to Ralston, who also is in a league of his own. Ralston taught me how to think, stop suffering, and attain mastery by dropping my ego and getting to the core of what works in any field or domain, not what i want to work or what i think should work. It gives me this ridiculous advantage over other people for whatever i want to pursue. Now i live life in a whole different lane than most people who struggle with survival, emotional and sexual needs i can pursue what interests me and not take the survival aspect of life so seriously, and actually kick ass in those too.

I'm also grateful for my mentor Sahajanada , who taught me what the spiritual heart, and love aspect of God/Reality is. No matter how deep i go into game/attraction/evolutionary theory, or business world, or any feild. I am always aware of Love and God, which science and biology tries to reduce all of reality down to an equation or evolution, not making room for the mystical.

I had another mentor in my early 20s, Justin, my therapist, who helped me through the most turbulent of emotional difficulties and introduced me to meditation and mindfulness, he didn't just plop me on a bunch of pills and shit. Dude saved my life in many times of crisis.

Overall, I've been beyond gifted with the men who have shown up in my life as mentors and helped me navigate the confusing waters of life. And interestingly many of them share the same general conclusions about life and how to live. I try to be that mentor for others now, but i'm not nearly as big or recognized. I don't really care though , i do it for the spirit of the work, whether 100 or 100,000 listen to what i have to say.

I used to think this forum was full of people whining and talking immature bullshit, but now I see people who are actually embodying and have integrated this work in their own unique way, which is inspiring to see.

We are very lucky to have stumbled upon this work. Thanks Leo
