Leo is the mentor I always needed but society never produced.

We need to bring back the idea of mentoring others. I had a parents, older siblings, uncles, aunts, older cousins, God fathers, God mothers, family friends, Scott leaders, sports coaches, elders in the church/community growing up.  BUT NOT A SINGLE ONE took a serious interest in me and the struggles I went through. Not a single one was interested in helping me to overcome obvious challenges. Not a single one gave me more than one or two sentences of advice. The advice or motivation I did get was pretty meager at best.

I say we need to bring back the idea of mentoring others around us who are struggling especially the younger people.  Many of those that are struggling are so desperate for any advice or help but are too insecure, depressed, or ignorant to ask for help. Many young people (not all) crave the advice and attention of adults but in my experience it is completely our of fashion for adults to do that. Not sure if adults are afraid of looking like pedos or what.

Please help those around you and spread  the same level love and motivation for learning and living that you guys have. Leo is a great example of a charismatic and non-toxic leader and motivator.

Do you guys agree that mentoring (in an official or unofficial capacity) is a good thing to do to young people?

Dont really worry about the what society needs to do as a whole. I would do precisely what Leo does and start your own community if you think you can help people solve problems. I run a few communities myself, it’s a very rewarding process.

For me it started out as more of a selfish goal of making money and raising my status but each time someone thanks me for helping them I get understand more the idea of intrinsically gaining pleasure from mentorship.

It’s also very validating to witness your ideas being able to work for own your life as well as others. It’s a superior form of intellectualism over simply theorizing.

I’ve gained a lot of value from Leo’s work and I find that a lot of internet mentors I’ve had lost value overtime where as Leo’s ideas seem to keep bearing fruits for me.
