Enlightenment and happiness.

5 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura in the video "65 Core Principles Of Living The Good Life", you said that "Happiness is only possible with enlightenment"

And 4 years later, you mentioned in the video "The Ultimate Guide To Happiness - How Happiness Works" that spirituality has reduced your overall happiness and that you don't enjoy meditation that much and that it's Buddhist ideal and nonsense to say that meditation is the end-all be-all of happiness and that that's where all of it is and nowhere else.
So do you still believe enlightenment is crucial for happiness or is it more for better understanding, recontextualization and connection to God? I'm curious about your views on enlightenment now especially with your experience with it changing to a point where it reduced your happiness (if that's still the case).

You don't NEED enlightenment for happiness, necessarily.  But the difference is being a player in a video game and not knowing it's a game, vs beating the game, jumping out of it, and looking down at it as the developer for what it is. Then going back in.  Now..with so much more consciousness, a lot of the previous obstacles that kept you from being happy are no longer there.  Fear being at the top.

With enlightenment, there is nobody to be happy.

Intrinsic joy = being x meaning ²

Nobody is.

It's the nobody that is happy. :)
