Damn it's as if you described what I just described myself in different words. Huh, funny how that works in the context of this discussion.

It's kinda cute when like a shortstack woman has that attitude cause there's the possibility of correcting her. Had a gilf teacher like that once. It's less charming with a dude.

Bro what even is this discussion 😭 Shame I'm not a mod so I can't not not ( @Basman ) flaunt my green dick of bannulations.

You can predict the quality of a discussion based on how new a case or event is because you get people with shallow opinions dominating the discussion and taking it very seriously.

That seems likely to be the case, but I'm not entirely convinced yet that she didn't have criminal intent. There's room for doubt and to think that it was planned.

And I kind of don't care anyway. I don't think insanity should absolve you of guilt when it's this bad.

What if you get high on 5-MeO-DMT and you kill somebody in that state (you think they're a demon that will destroy all of reality, and in your infinitely time dilated POV, you planned to kill them for what felt like 5000 years before you finally managed to do it)?

Planning to kill them for 5000 years is some crazy intent, even if under an altered state. Straight to jail.

That's just prejudice. 5000 years is a lot of time to slime someone out.

Further than that, someone drugs you with bath salts, the Chinese government brainwashed you to assassinate someone,....

I think if you can genuinely process the scenario of thinking you killed a demon but you later found out you were mistaken and it was actually a human, you would not want to be punished for that.

Fair, but like Leo says state is everything. Just a few things go wrong and you’d be a different person, maybe even insane.

She was experiencing a long bout of chemical induced imbalance and toxicity to her brain and nervous system. She was given various pill. This brought with it and eventually coincided with long bout of sleeplessness. It also brought deep suffering depression, anxiety, confusion.  It’s very possible for all this to lead to a psychotic break where he feels she has to kill her and her family. There appears to be a long list of evidence of her challenges with the medications. I’ve seen people in documentaries talking about how those medications caussed a young girl to have the same kind of hullicinations and voices telling her to harm herself and others. But, she was lucky when her parents stopped all medications unlike the doctors who kept pushing them.

It’s sad but what happened to her here is, to me, a string of various doctors not recognizing the patient was experiencing damage from the meditation and needed to stop. I can see a strong case for her.

She had no history of depression or paranoia or anything before the medications. Her husband stands by her.

@Emerald Wouldn't the fact that she asked her husband to leave the house while she did it invalidate the insanity defense? Sounds pretty rational to me.

To me, it reads as very calculated.

The fucking amount of double negatives in this post is insane. I can't prove you had the intent to write this cryptically, but the mere action is immoral. You could've written everything so much simpler.

Immoral is a silly judgment to make about it. I was doing my best to get the point across clearly.

Massachusetts only = Burden of proof is on the prosecution to prove she's NOT insane.

All other states = Burden of proof is on the defense to prove she IS insane.

Do you understand?

What's most disgusting to me about the reaction to this, the same people that run their mouths about population decline are the same people trying to write off women's mental health being addressed on this.

There are instances where a parent has gone psychotic and harmed their kids without realizing that they're doing something wrong. So, I know that that exists. And "not guilty by reason of insanity" fits in those cases.

But I just don't believe that about Lindsay Clancy, as I don't see strong enough evidence to support it.

And don't go throwing around the ideas of "witch-burning" and "writing off women's mental health" towards others just because they don't buy her claims.

Some people on here are getting into gender war bs, and that's stupid. But that doesn't mean that Lindsay Clancy didn't knowingly murder her children in cold blood.

Bear in mind, I am a woman... and a mother.

And I suspect that the main reason there are so many people supporting Lindsay Clancy is because she's a wealthy white woman that people might tend to project innocence onto... and women who have struggled with postpartum depression might tend to project their situation onto her situation.

So, I suspect it's that combination of things that might cause people to lose sight of what I believe are her true motives.
