I think I will vote for Eisenkot. Yair Golan is also good, but Eisenkot feels to me as the most mature, sensible and genuine. Lapid was my favourite in recent campaigns but I am tired if hearing him talking too much about Ultra Orthodox and draft dodging (instead of more sharp and brave statements on foreign policy) it starts to sound like a broken record.

You?

Same here. Eisenkot imo better than the alternative although his charisma isn’t even close to Netanyahu.

Lapid is a walking joke. His energy feels cringe.

Netanyahu failed big time during recent years so to elect him again will be madness. He was my favorite though.

They will talk - and we will cleanse.

Sorry, no time to talk, too busy cleansing.

He will be cleansed from the government on Oct 27th (me trying to be optimistic)

Bennett is good at countering Netanyahu's charisma with his intense field activity he is doing these days with the young guy Yonatan Shalev (if you know him)

Israel is like a genocidal feeding frenzy. Like sharks who smell blood in water. Horny for revenge.

@Raze What is the difference in the thinking pattern between those Israeli commenters (about Palestinians) and this twitter user (about Israelis) ?

Who is he kidding? What they learned from Oct 7th is to be more ruthless than ever. Oct 7th did not make Israel wiser.

The expectation at the beginning was that Oct7 will unite the Israelis and soften the rivalry between the camps, but it held for like 5 minutes and then the division returned. Indeed I felt personally that the discourse in certain groups became more extreme and less tolerant and that some people became unreachable.

Terrorism always drags the state lower. That's why it is tragically effective. Terrorism triggers self-sabotaging reactions.

I am sorry you are caught in the middle of it.

How come USA did not become genocidal like this after 9/11?

Like they did attack countries but they were not genocidal in their mindset

Is it because USA is more developed or because Israel already had a deep hatred towards Palestinians that made them overeact a lot more than other countries would?

Or historical trauma that makes them overly sensitive?

Agree. I also saw how some other people utilized difficult emotion in healthier ways which make them stay saner and I have been exposed to this kind of "soft" emotional discussion too in my circles of family, friends, courses, social events etc.

I think people are usually exposed to genocidal sentiment of Israelis towards Palestinians than the other way around given the social media feeds and the amount of content created in general showcases it a lot more on the Israeli side.

Also I think people believe Palestinians are more justified to be hateful than Israelis given the fact that Palestinians have historically died like 40 times more and live under a brutal occupation

Israel is a very good place to live all taken into account and Palestine is not

That makes people think when Israel is genocidal it comes out of "evilness" meanwhile Palestinian hateful sentiment comes out of "their life is shit because of Israeli occupation and oppression"

"Why are people who live in a good first world country so hateful, they must be evil"

Meanwhile for Palestinians it is like : "These people live so badly, are oppressed, no rights, get bombed, dont have a state, ofc they will be so hateful, it is normal"

This is how many think

Israel's genocide is America's genocide by proxy.

Because the US wasn’t binded on hatred for a specific group responsible as a national goal like hatred for Palestinians is what binds Zionism.

When America responded to 9/11 notice how the language was about we are bringing freedom and democracy.

When Israel reacted it was calling the enemy human animals, amalek, calling for a second Nakba.

In both cases the government calls back to the true core principles that unite the people in their messaging.

Also in both cases the actual action was for the interests of those actually in power.

I am sorry I still do not understand

I mean after 9/11 USA population  at large did not have the genocidal mindset Israel seems to have after October 7th

This is what I dont understand

I am talking here about the overall society, not a few politicans

I think this is the reason

Israelis were already semi genocidal even before October 7th and that pushed them over the edge

Americans were not towards anyone in August 2001

Israelis have gone through 30 years of terrorism coming from Palestinian terror groups. The US has not.
