The case for slavery:
‎It's hard for us to understand slavery, dictatorships, fascism, racism... Because we operate from a humanist and individual sovereignty paradigm. However if you look close at it in nature, this paradigm is never found other than recently in human culture. Which makes it a rather human invention rather than just a state of facts. Animals don't have this paradigm, they operate based on instincts, and their instincts doesn't dictate to them to respect individual sovereignty, but to do whatever is best for their survival. And in a sense they don't have another choice. However in human culture we consider stuff like genocide and slavery, dictatorships, fascism, racism, tribalism... To be evil and wrong. Which is silly in the grand scheme of things. All of what we call today evil, were product of difficult survival conditions, which led to what we might view today as madness or barbarism. However these are important tools in collective human development, and to understand something and exhausted you have to experience and go through it. Plus many times, because of lack of scientific and technological advancement, life was way more cruel and difficult. Today we have the luxuries of modern medicine, technology... But those have not existed for most of human history. People suffered excruciating pain through diseases that are easily cured today. The most simple tasks of today were as difficult as life gets back then. When you live in that environment of cruelty, torture, and difficulty, just being the state of nature. You have way less calms about enslaving, torturing and genociding others, just because of how widespread poverty, famine, cruelty, torture, difficulty... Are in the state of nature of your environment that you're trying to survive in.

It reads as an explanatory outline of why slavery and other forms of oppression arose historically.

Maybe the closest thing to a claim may be:

But how do you know this was a necessary process to move through to progress human development?  The problem is that the necessity claim is counterfactual. To really establish this claim, you would need to show that no alternative path to similar levels of development was possible.

The case for slavery is that free labor is practical and humans are tribal. Everything else is a justification. People still yearn for free labor whenever they can get it, which is why companies make poor third worlders work their sweatshops. They are practically slaves by virtue of how profoundly unequal leverage each party has over the other.
