Hedonism as viable dream strategy

7 posts in this topic

Hey guys what do you think is hedonism what is left after you awaken?

Bored with solipsism so let's talk about hedonism as viable dream strategy.

I think hedonism remains after you realize you are immortal.

Deep down we all want pleasure and to avoid pain.

Life will teach you it’s a trap . You are already a hedonist . Are you happy ?

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

If you are a hedonist, that means you're no filled with consciousness inside.

You need deep love not hedonism.

Hedonism is a lack of wisdom and inwardness.

Hedonism is sweet poison

Pleasures dull the mind, as much as I love pleasure, that is the truth

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Pleasure?

Pain?

Whats the difference?

One lead into the other?

No distinction?

Now, Voyager, sail thou forth to seek & find."

@No1Here2c Today when you go to eat use the knife to stab yourself in the leg. Pain pleasure, what is the difference?

Sure you mentioned the sameness which is true, but don't forget the difference as well.

@Davino I don't get why hedonism seems to be interpreted so shallowly. Like the pleasure and pain have to be physical/immediate.

Let's suppose that he does stab himself in the leg to learn about sameness and difference of the experience of pleasure and pain. And he finds out, by direct experience.

So what is greater here: the joy (pleasure) of insight into Nature, or the pain from the wound? Hedonism is not so shallow, and truth be told, I don't think we as animals could ever practice any other philosophy.
