Nootropics?

10 posts in this topic

Yeah, Qualia Mind is my base stack, which Ive been using for over 1 year consistently and I notice a subtle, but definite and comprehensive increase in attention, calmness, presence and predisposition towards positive emotional-states.

I also played with Noopept, Piracetam, Alpha-GPC and Nicotine.

The overall best mental-states and increase in cognitive-capacity with most upsides and zero to almost no downsides I experience on Qualia Mind + 10 gram of Creatine + 5mg of Nicotine.

But generally basic lifestyle optimization comes before nootropics: first of all good sleep, diet, exercise, meditation.

Then make sure you dont have any dietary-definciencies in key nutrients associated with brain-chemistry: fatty-acids, b-vitamins, amino-acids. So you dont have rate-limiting factors causing you to work below baseline.

And then you can play with nootropics to go above baseline.

How do I find out if I have any dietary-defs in key nutrients associated with brain chemistry

Why did you stop the  Noopept

Why did you stop the  Piracetam

Why did you stop the  Alpha-GPC

I've been taking ashwhaganda (it wasn't a COA approved version) since last year July. I want to add a nootropic to my ashwhaganda so I will try Qualia Mind as you have vouched for this.

I won't ask you why you chose this I want to see for myself, thanks for your comment.@Cireeric

Mostly I just make sure that I get the most essential in regularly: choline, b-vitamins, all the essential amino-acids, healthy fats, if you want to dive deeper on nutrition particularly for brain-performance I can recommand you Dave Aspreys "Headstrong" book.

Yeah if ashwagandha helps you reduce stress or sleep better I guess that helps for cognition.

@Cireeric Holy god damn it is $159 for a bottle from their website.

Yeah its quite expensive, I get it for 100 a month, but for me it is worth it since every day on it feels a litle bit upgraded and I can do more of what I like to do. Other good alternatives, that are more affordable are Neurofuel or MindLabPro. Or you go for Piracetam + Choline source like Citicoline or Noopept + Choline source, which is even cheaper and probably more noticably effective in the short-term.

Creatine only

I wonder if it helps with ADHD

See how you go - people have a large variation in reactions to creatine. I loaded up gradually to 10g per day and have been on that for a while. Great for focus.

My advice would be to take it with coffee in the morning (micronized no flavour) as it can cause intense insomnia if taken later in the day. I require less sleep while taking it.

I cycle off it for a week out of every 8. Great for sprinting and weights or just cardio.

BUT - my Mum and sister cannot take creatine as it causes anxiety in them. My stepdad has ADHD and it helps him.

I would do some research on how it works for an idea - I believe it works on the energy transfer system between cells of the body.
