Sortition

Sortition: essentially the selection of political officials by lottery from a pool of citizens, rather than through elections. It has deep historical roots and has seen a resurgence of interest in recent years.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Big problem with having a random guy put in a position of power is they're not ready for it. They will just get corrupted by other forces or extorted. Happens with jury duty and criminal organizations.

Im thinking about how future governments would look like. I think putting a select number of people in positions of power like we do today is outdated and has no place in the future of governance. The focus should be on policies and it should be handled much more like we do science. People would have more say in whats happening in the world. This requires ordinary people to be more involved in politics. The job of politicians would be to work with scientists, discuss policies and communicate them towards the people. You would think this is how our current system is supposed to work as well... Anyway, i dont think im doing a good job explaining my vision here.

Meritocracy is perhaps the more developed version of democracy and should be the next step.

🏔 Spiral dynamics can be limited, or it can be unlimited if one's development is constantly reflected in its interpretation.

No you did well it's quite correct. People forget that our current representative democracy system was born out of congressmen riding for days on horse to get to philadelphia and deliberate. And then it evolved into bureaucratic democracy where each new bill is 100 pages PDF impossible to read without a team of staffers. Now thank god anybody can use AI to transcript every law being deliberated in their jurisdiction and can look up the ones passed 10 years ago to hold people accountable and track projects over long period of time.

Nothing really stops you from getting into politics right now that I am aware of. I think most people don't care about running a country day to day.

The advantage of career politicians is that they gain a lot of experience with doing politics and being leaders.
