Smart people arent going to attack eachother.

 

If an idiot attacks a smart person, theres no harm, because a smart person will easily let it pass. The idiot learns that the words have no power, and learns to alter their behavior. Moderating this reinforces a bad behavior, they elicit a response, acknowledgement, which is all the idiot is seeking.

 

If a smart person attacks an idiot, they probably need it, and can learn from it.

 

If idiots attack eachother, they'll both leave eventually.

 

Win-win-win

 

The moderation here concentrates the idiots here, you shelter idiots and prevent them from learning, then you just eventually ban them when a moderator has an emotional episode.

This is like asking the inmates to run the prison yard .

Truth is, this is a niche forum that attracts all kinds of perspectives, some of which are weird as hell from what I’ve observed.

Without mods this would easily evolve into flame wars and shit slinging contests to see who’s most right about their worldview (which still happens even with mods)

See, Look at this passive aggressive attack. No substance, no explanation. And this bad behavior is let to go be reinforced and spread like incel herpes by moderating anyone calling out the stupidity without going into a wasteful diatribe. Overall of you want to see an example of heavy moderation where disagreements of opinion are moderated, rather than just poor behaviour - Reddit lol

A.I. moderation would be nice. One day there will be highly inteligent agents roaming around here, replacing all the pesky human moderators. There can be agents with a wokie bias, right wing bias, neo advainta bias etc. Stage green bots, stage blue bots. I bet they'd be much less insufferable than some of the pesky humans I've encountered here even if I wouldn't agree with them LOL
