Truth vs. Ego

12 posts in this topic

Why is the truth better than human desires? Why do you love the truth instead of the ego’s impulses toward pleasure?

Because the ego is divided and wants only - at best - one half of the Truth: The half that suits it best.

Truth annihilates ego. Ego is a temporary phenomenon. Truth > ego.

Ego's plan ends in despair, darkness and destruction. Ego's salvation is, you are guilty and I am innocent. Ego's mantra is, I am good and though imperfect God will reward my efforts. Ego projects grievance everywhere it goes and claims that grievance is due to you. Can't you see that ego does not have your interests at heart? The ego's interests are you spinning your wheels entrenched in suffering interspersed with a touch of pleasure.

A better choice is possible. Undo ego each moment and enjoy the happiness that is your true nature.

Because the Truth obliterates all other desires. Yet to realize the Truth, your desire for Truth must be stronger than all other desires.

Truth is Paramount

Love Is Truth

Truth Is Love

I & I

Because the ego is a trap, a mechanism that makes you run like a hamster on a wheel to contribute to evolutionary movement.

It's not inherently bad, but human beings aren't adapted to their environments but rather create it; therefore, the ego is always war, maladjustment, and falsehood, since it needs lies to maintain its equilibrium. In short, suffering.

The ego is inevitable, but it's better open it to the unlimited, then it's frequency changes and everything becomes open, beautiful, alive.

If truth destroys the ego, maybe the ego was never strong enough to face it.

Or maybe the ego isn’t the enemy. Maybe it’s just the part of us that refuses to pretend we’re something we’re not.

Whenever someone starts capitalizing ‘Truth’ and ‘Love,’ I get suspicious we’re drifting from philosophy into poetry.

think the ego can cause problems, sure. But without it we probably wouldn’t have art, ambition, or identity either.

Yes that is the ego's playbook there. Do you want to be in turmoil every day or at peace? This kind of peace will never see war again even if it were patrolling the Strait of Hormuz today. The world doesn't change but the way you see it does.

The ego doesn't exist. You are different now than you were last week. All there is is states of consciousness. Ego is like a smokescreen or some evil chameleon. It doesn't have your best interest at heart.

Why not both?
