What is the Devil

7 posts in this topic

What Is the Devil – The Mechanism of Evil argues that the devil does not exist. So in the context of magic and exorcism, when a ritual drives out evil and a person’s symptoms disappear, what is it that has actually been expelled or killed?

Does the concept of the devil refer only to a moral metaphor, or does it also engage with the religious idea of magic and exorcism?

In religious thought, spirit possession, demonic possession, or ghost possession is believed to place thoughts into a person’s mind—sinful words, impulsive actions, hatred, anger, and aggression. Religion clams that demons exist and the devils are individual entities within a spiritual realm.

1

There is no evil outside of self-hatred.

There is no personality disorder without self-hatred.

A demon is a personality disorder.

2

Understanding of nerodivergency is understanding of the self.

Understanding of the self is the basis for real self-acceptance which allows for authenticity.

Authenticity is what kills demons.

I want to discuss how the “magic realm” connects to Actualized.org’s teachings.

How do reincarnation, magic which affects the luck, health, relationship, career and various gods relate to the theories taught there?

I think the devil can be found in the self. For example, our shadow side can be closely related or akin to the "devil", but it is our responsibility as humans to become aware of it, and to heal our shadow self, so that we can become as close to "God" (however you wish to define that) as we possibly can and also so we can become better, more developed, and self-aware beings. There is a light in our shadow, if you will. It's a non-dualistic concept in my opinion. Both God and the devil can be found in the self, externally too, of course, but also internally.

I think we can actually learn a whole lot about ourselves when we become aware of our own devilish nature, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, etc. But that's just my opinion.

I like this.  This is actually very profound and true.  Read the way I'm reading it of course.
