Has DMT Tolerance?

I experience strong tolerance when vaping DMT on a vape, every hit takes more substance to reach the same state. I've been checking the scientific literature and this doesn't seem to be the case for most people. Do you experience DMT tolerance when redosing?

In multiple days in a row there's no tolerance for me, but on the point of redosing I do feel it very substantially.

It’s similar for me. Seems like there is kind of a tolerance when redosing mid-trip.

Best to wait till the trip fully ends.

Yes I get tolerance with DMT and 5-MeO-DMT as well. I usually need 48 hours for it to fully clear. I can re-dose during trips but I can only do it so much before it doesn’t work anymore.

I guess its like forcefully unlocking all your "spiritual juice" so it explodes out in one hit, then just like sperm / semen, has to take a few days to weeks to recover fully again. I feel it somewhat activates endogenous chemical release prematurely, where as naturally it would spill over whenever there is an abundance of spiritual charge / juice, if you will, from prolonged yoga/kriya, meditation and other practices. Just like anything really, take a break from things, come back and its almost like brand new. The nervous system has finally given the space to settle and chemically rebalance / recharge itself.

I believe it's the lungs, if you hit a toke big and hot enough they do get a meaningful level of damage that takes time to recover from and for your tissues to be able to fully absorb the substance again. But who knows.

Mmm, I don't think it's that, as I could be vaping 5meo like air all day with 0 tolerance. It's only with DMT so far, soon I'll try it with Malt and see how the tolerance works. I have the intuition it's something about neurotransmitters.

You're onto something there. In simple terms it's much easier to cause tolerance at 5-HT2A that DMT is more active at vs. 1A where 5MD & 5MM predominantly agonize at. What Girzo said, as well as vasoconstriction, sloppier technique due to disorientation, etc. are all factors, but minor. Keep in mind DMT requires larger doses and also vaporizes harsher. 30-60 minutes is still a very quick reset all things considered.
