Day #1

It's been 8 hours. (Of practice)

I am gonna spend the rest of the day just meditating of my eye lids on the bed. Instead of on my chair with a candle like I did for 8 hours .

Nice, eight hours is a sizable amount. Keep it up.

Bravo!!!!!!❤️

All my support and love to you brother. Go for it!

This is the quality content I look for in the spirituality subforum. Thanks for doing the real work and inspiring others.

Be disciplined in the retreat and remember the biggest hindrance: distractions. Otherwise, relax into the practice and let it be as a river from heaven flows through the world. Concentration and Relaxation united make for perfect meditation.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

People with narcolepsy take modafinil every day. It's a well tested chemical with a low profile risk.

So it's not something to be seriously afraid of but just reasonably cautious not to overdo it and leave months after the retreat of no use.

Actually, not a doctor, but if you're taking antipsychotics, it might be worth checking for possible contraindications and other considerations. Also, as beneficial as retreats can be, intensive meditation can sometimes be destabilizing. Something to take into account.

Basically there's some risk but because of the effects,  not because of the chemistry.

Similiar effects to meditation.

I am doing a visually intensive technique that my doctor definitelly would not approve off.

I am on my tea break. 3.5h more to go to get the minimum 8 hours.

Why I chose a technique this visually intense?

To hear voices,  have 3d hallucinations and visit other realms of course ;).

@Michal__ I would consider talking to a doctor rather than to a language model. And if I may ask, what is your purpose for the retreat?

Kasina is a visual practice that heavily develops visualization and concentration,  leading to siddhis, 3d visuals (open and closed yes) and a lot more cool stuff.

I don't know if 10 days is enough for realms but I am already experiencing jhanas.

Btw

Day #2

8 hours done.

Now I am going to practice just of my eye lids, on my bed instead on the chair like I did for the main 8 hours , without a candle and in an hour jump on Zoom with Frank Yang and some other people.

It helps a lot to stay meditating, meditation reinforces modafinil and vice versa, its a loop :D

It makes jhanas etc much easier.

Also, I am not disciplined enough to meditate for this long without it.

Have you ever done Vipassana or kriya yoga? I wonder how they compare to Kasina practise.

I have done Vipassana. Kasina is basically a mix between Vipassana and Samatha.
