Is collecting stuff a waste of time?

7 posts in this topic

Hey everyone, merry Christmas Eve. So recently this month I quit my job at a pharmacy, for some reason I noticed after quitting that I was a little unconscious or on autopilot. I wasted some thousands of bucks in Yugioh cards, I kinda regret it now, I could’ve used that money for investing in my passion which is art.

Do some of you guys here collect stuff? I might end up selling everything because I need the money.

No I dont. Its a cope for something.

Quote from sadhguru-  A window shopper and a rapist are the same.

If you couldn't collect would you have a void feeling inside of you?

I never really understood how a grown up man can collect something like Pokemon cards or anime figures. It just seems so childish to me. There is no intrinsic value in something like Pokemon cards.

I can understand collecting sports cards, stamps, or similar - at least they represent a real person, team, event, etc. which makes them valuable from a historical standpoint. But still, collecting anything that is not needed for survival is just silly IMO, especially if you are struggling financially.

The absolute peak of this nonsense is adults collecting virtual items in a video game and paying thousands of dollars for stuff they don't even own physically.

We all have inner-child wounds bro, some often reconnect with their inner-child through going back in time and connecting to that part of themselves when they felt they could play and feel and enjoy. This shouldn't be "suppressed" or it will come out through your life in other ways and future relationships.
