it is all about the spirit. The spirit of Christmas helps you access higher states of consciousness (connection, love, empathy, celebration, union).

I doubt it. The spirit of Christmas is not to do a silent retreat, it's so socialize and with family, often in combination with alcohol to make the thing bearable 😝

You can access higher states of consciousness on social rituals. Dancing, talking, singing, playing games or radical sports.

We're biased into thinking that higher states of consciousness is only accessible to the lone wolf.

I dont think people intrinsically value Christmas in itself, its real meaning, unless they’re genuinely religious.

Plenty celebrate, enjoy and value Christmas for the events that are used to celebrate it, in particular the gathering of families. It may come with emotional attachments, nostalgia, comfort etc

But those things you could do any day, so I’m similar to you, im indifferent to Christmas in and of itself, I mostly just like being on holiday (meaning not having to work/study) during that time.

Christmas offers time off from work, decompression, and a sense of belonging and connection rather than striving. Receiving gifts makes people feel good and cared for. People in general are in better moods during the holiday season. I’ll take it.

Christmas feelings is a very real phenomenon. I opened up to some of the deepest love on christmas when I was a child.

Obviously its all conformity, but it can take you to places!
