One way of looking at reality

Everything is an unknowable energy; planets, stars, meteorites, all living organisms, bacteria, cells, atoms, etc etc.........

Within this unknowable energy aka: Everything, there can seem to become a sensation of individuality or self awareness. 

This sensation feels vulnerable and separate from the rest of the energy. It feels local, centralized, real and threatened.

It feels the need to survive because that's all it knows, it doesn't know decentralization.

Decentralization sounds foreign and scary.

It starts learning/knowing things. Everything becomes survival strategy. Everything becomes relevant to its survival. It becomes it's own center of attention. (I'm) here and everything else is out there. (I) need to survive.

Sometimes in certain physical forms, this centralized (I) energy can become disturbed. It can become decentralized for periods of time. During this disturbance, it can realize that it's not just localized to the physical form.

It can realize that the entire experience of only being centrally located, was a misunderstanding.

This unknowable energy seems to create a different path. 

It no longer gets centralized or localized the way it did before, because it has now experienced decentralization and it enjoys that feeling of wholeness.

But simultaneously something else very interesting can seem to be recognized.

It can seem to realize that its entire conscious experience of existing, either as centralized or decentralized, was completely illusory from the start.

It becomes completely obvious that this experiencer of all phenomenon, past & present, was never actually there.

It was all an illusion from the start. A very convincing illusion, but an illusion nonetheless.

Enlightenment, awakening, samadhi, emptiness, absolute, this, nothingness, infinity.......... 

It's already the case

It's already this way

Nothing ever happened 

It's THIS!!!

Beautifully written. 

The sense of self is illusion but it's necessary for the survival of the organism. That's why humans have better chances in survival than insects ..not because humans are physically stronger but because they have more evolved brain cortex which is required for thinking consciously and planning and also for thinking there is a separate entity responsible for doing things consciously.  So while the sense of individuality is illusory ..there is no way of getting rid of it COMPLETELY and remaining alive as a body .

You're looking to deeply.

It's more subtle and on the surface than how you are looking at it.

There is a physical body doing/living what you described above. 

The self illusion is that which claims "I'm doing that"; "I'm deciding to think that thought"

It's the mental construct which suffers and has anguish......& which judges itself and others according to its cultural conditioning.

Notice the body will turn its head if it's name is called, prefer tea over coffee, and jump out the way of a car.......all prior to thought.

Physical body lives just fine prior to the overthinking culturally conditioned needy self illusion/mental construct claiming ownership & throwing its judgments in on top of what the body is already doing.

Yea thats not bad. I mean, theres no ways to communicate what you are feeling or experiencing whilst its happening. There are maybe hints at, maybe. I mean, I just refer to it like a "gyration" of some sort, like we go around one edge of the experience {trying to describe it} only to realize that by that time we are the other end of the spectrum, therein we've misrepresented the ~whole via the other end

It feels like that because it's real. You will see when pack of hyenas will tear your arms off if you are vulnerable or not.

The center is real, you can deactivate it for a while and feel the whole, but always from the center. The text that you wrote comes from that center. Without that center there is not projection, language, symbolism, intention, communication...

Self-illusion is the mental identification of being this body. The doer and thinker.

When a thought arises in the body the self illusion claims "I'm thinking this thought". When the body jerks its hand away from boiling hot water the self illusion claims "I did that jerk action"

Self Illusion is the judgmental needy sufferer that's never satisfied.....more more more......i need more spiritual knowledge, i need more peace, I need need need

Bro........pertaining to the self illusion only. 

The self illusion seems to manifest at a fairly young age and continue layering as it becomes more and more conditioned by its surroundings overtime. That entire self construct isn't there.......it just seems to be.

but it never actually developed.......it just seemed like it did. 

That's what I meant by "you're looking too deep" 

 

I'm not saying nothing at all in apparent existence happened.

Go outside and run directly at a tree without stopping.......it will quickly become obvious that the tree and the body hitting the tree are real physical objects in existence......or at least as real as real can get for 2 temporary physical forms.

The self is a construct that occurs in the brain, has genetic bases and is as physical as your bones; it occurs by creating pre-established neural pathways, similar in all humans. 

It's distribution is more or less this: 

Prefrontal cortex: identity, control, planning

Limbic system : emotion, attachment, fear

Insula : bodily sense of “being someone”

Cingulate cortex :conflict, self-observation

Default mode network : narrative of self, past-future

It starts at the age of 2, and it's fully established at the age of 5, but not totally closed/matured until the age of 25. 

The self is built by symbolic language. "Mine", "inside", "you". Without language there is not narrative self. 

Also by memory. Without memory there is not continuity, nor identity 

And over all by the basics genetic implanted needs:

attachment and validation: how they look at me , how they love me, how they reject me. 

And over over all: fear. The self has its root in the need of self protection. 

 

And you said that this is just a silly misunderstanding? Ha ha ha . Quite silly, sure

Awakening, enlightenment, as you want to name it, is not the realization of the so silly misunderstanding of the reality, that YOU realized, it's the perfect alignment of the hiper complex structures that build the perfect sistem of the human self
