Ever experienced Alice in wonderland syndrome?

It’s also called Todd’s syndrome, I think some people experience this on psychedelics especially mushrooms. It’s an altered sense of perception where things change shapes and sizes and even your body. Example, The room you are in can feel huge, tiny or even stretched out. Your body can feel giant or big or miniature like a small doll. The reason I mention this is because I get these episodes because of my dissociative disorder. Last night my bed became very huge and the walls were stretched out, My room literally changed sizes than original size. This is a real thing btw. Have you experienced it?

I experience this on a regular basis, although it never affects what I see visually, it’s just a sense of feeling physically big. It can feel weirdly comfortable.

Very interesting. Is it simply your perception of physical reality or does it also have a distinct feel to it?

Not sure if we talk about the same thing but in acting or high emotional states I rarely come in contact with this crazy-twisted energy where regular rules dont apply anymore.

It’s cool to realize how much our brain controls our experience, to the point where even without psychedelics our brains can change something like our perception of our size. It makes me wonder what else is possible, what other perception of reality is possible to manipulate to improve our experience . For some it can feel isolating in a way, like our reality is really internally created

Dissociatives (Ketamine and cie) can change the size of objects; people's heads can look gigantic lol, rooms bigger and distorted, and stuff like that.

Ditto for weed in a lesser extent.

Literally I don’t even need psychedelics to have such weird perceptions of reality. Hence the whole size perception stuff, Last night when it was so intense my bed literally looked bigger like I could lay in it and the bed would stretch to all the corners of the room. The brain is a weird weird thing.

Yes I used to be able to shrink peoples heads by staring at them. When I layed down I could feel my hands and tongue grow while my legs and arms shrink. Basically wherever I have more sensors seemed to become enlarged and where there are less seemed to shrink.

Its the strangest feeling in the world, even on psychedelics I haven't had a stranger feeling. Its super odd and comfortable and uncomfortable all at once. Its like you feel your cells infinitely morphing large and small, other times including your thoughts, your feelings, time/ space ect..

It happened more as a child but I get random episodes late at night or been up for days, little sleep, exhausted or very stressed. it also happens due to excess screen-time / digital overload. Its both enjoyable and not, more scary when I was a child but now I try to feel it out as much as I can.

I often lay in bed observing and trying to figure out what exactly is going on for 30 - 40 minutes and still cannot explain it properly.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance of separative... unity...

@theoneandnone it happened a lot during fever episodes in my childhood and then happened during deep absorption on meditation. It does not happen on its own though. Pink floyds song "comfortably numb" speaks about this funky feeling.

Not sure about actual shapes and sizes changing, but the sense or perception of those qualities can probably shift or be altered a bit - it's likely happened to me a few times. It seems like your mood, and where you place your attention (among other factors), can influence that sense. This might turn out to be a change in mind state, not sure. Can be fun but it's also subtle, in my view. Nothing magical or fantastical.
