But it's not you being conscious of infinity, it's more like infinity's self-recognition.

To die into infinity's self-recognition. Complete absorption = you vanish.  That is Turia.

When the secret is revealed to you, you will know that you are not other than God, but that you yourself are the object of your quest.

Okay, but that's not deep sleep . Deep sleep is from the animal body, it's not ultimate . Buddhism has niroda samapatti which is complete loss of consciousness

Whatever  the highest state of consciousness is is what happens after death; not the lowest, sleep, looking to the physical world ,

That's interesting. Did you believe this before 5meo?

I've never done 5meo, so not sure what all it reveals, but I'm not sure how you get to "highest state of consciousness is what happens after death".

Why must it be the highest state? Why can't it just be an unknowable transition?

Also, does that "highest state" persist forever until it decides it wants another dream? If so, interesting implications here.

I'm having a hard time making sense of it but without 5meo experience, maybe I can't.

I dont kno if i respond here yet, but i always think of things in circles, similar-esque to classical, ancestral mythos and stuff, like classic, birth, death, life, and so you just go through the circle, aka the cycle birth, death life, which isnt a bad thing nor a good thing. Like when youve experienced that feeling like "Oh.. this shit actually never ends", it doesnt come on in a good way, it feels very disturbing... Then later... its like, "oh, its pretty normal actually". I mean in retrospect i dont know why it felt like that, but it certainly doesnt just end, nor does it ever really begin. I guess its kindve annoying really, cause what does that even mean when said in word form (from the felt form)

It gave me the impression that death is the end of illusion because it's the end of the ego. And that the only non illusory state is the highest state . I'm not confident what that entails in terms of fine details, like duration or what comes "'next"

@Oppositionless Have you ever 'experienced' the non-experience of Turia, or this niroda somapatti you mentioned? Either in deep meditation or 5meo? Just wondering.

BTW not sure where you got the information that "deep sleep is from the animal body" but that's not my understanding. In Hinduism deep sleep is known as Sushupti = a union with universal consciousness. And in Buddhism it is seen as a merging with Brahman. Similar to deep meditation without active awareness.

I've experienced emptiness of mind and loss of identification with experience (this might be Turiya depending on your definition)  but not the total cessation of experience as in Niroda , or Nirvikalpa samadhi.

Im working on my humor so I say things sometimes specifically because they make me laugh  , but what I really meant when I said b sleep is from the animal body  is sleep is merging with Brahman by decreasing consciousness and awakening is merging with Brahman by increasing consciousness.

@Oppositionless What I'm referring to is you vanish without a trace. You don't exist; you never existed. Not even an empty mind remains. I don't know all the lingo but when one is in a state of samadhi you surrender to it, and it absorbs you completely. Like a wave that disappears back into the ocean.

@cetus  I think there's an intrinsic difficulty in comparing psychedelic vs meditative experiences that is responsible for our apparent disagreement xD, because I relate to exactly what you just said now . It's just that in the case of the psychedelic it's accompanied by more "extra" energies, primarily a feeling of intensity leading up to the ego death .
