Anatomy and meaning of the word OM

16 posts in this topic

The word tree is a representation for the living tree.

The word om is a representation for the entirety of life.

The man dosent go into whether the sounds are special but he goes into how when you say the word you should be thinking about every state you can be in while saying it.

According to Sadhguru it's kinda wrong to find meaning in such syllables, uttering it mentally or physically is supposed to change the geometric pattern of your energy system, purify it of karmic imprints. It doesn't have any meaning, it's just a sound, the sound of the universe. Vibration that give rise to the world of forms.

Btw it's AUM and not OM.

Went to a Kirtan few days ago. Whatever the meaning of those Sanskrit words, the singing of some mantras gave me goosebumps and a subtle vibration in my throat.

Super interesting stuff.

Here are smart words that present my apparent identity but don't mean anything. At all.

@TheSelf try to say it and think the meaning of it. It means waking sleeping and deep sleep. The word can be used and a concept container. There is no other word for these states combined if you think about these concepts together and say the word it gives it more power and will feel weird.

It might pronounced that way but its not spelled that way. Thats like saying its not comb its caum. Same shit. 90 percent say om. Even in the video it says aum as a pronunciation. So I don't know why you are being so pedantic.

Or uttering it and feeling the effects of it! Fully!

This is what it's supposed to do for you, effecting you in such a powerful way as an aid in your spiritual progress.

Trying to find meaning is for the sake of entertainment of the mind, being very present with it while uttering it is what actually matters, personally love the experience.

Trust me, it's also spelled that. And knowing the correct version is important in terms of it's energetic effects on you, otherwise I wouldn't care it's om, aun, am etc.

@TheSelfWhat are the differing effects between saying om and aum. What kind of geometric energy changes happen when you say one or the other? I dont need sahdguru videos linked to me I have seen them all I know you dont know and are just parroting sadhguru. I know you havent tried both and I knew you were going to link me a sahguru video. Because I have already parroted this. I know the only reason you are saying this is cause sadhguru said it. Every other spiritual teach says OM.

AUM is more the (full picture) Ahhh = Manifestation / Ohh/uuu = Experience / Mmmm = Dissolution (the full cycle of existence).

Ahh opens the heart, Ohh/uuu brings it into being, and mmm... completes the circuit. In a nutshell.

There are many ways you can look at it.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance of separative... unity...

In Egyptian lore, the very first god of existence is said to be Atum. (A u m)

When Jesus was giving Lord's prayer, the name he used for God was Abhûn. And it's the very first thing you utter in that prayer. If you say Abhûn slowly you'll get the same A u m sound.

Om could still be a valid sound tho. But as a seperate thing maybe, idk.

@TheSelfIm not angry. I am simply stating that we dont know what geometric patterns or energetic patterns do what. The difference between oh m and aum in a frequency coming out of your mouth is not known to any of us. Its cool and interesting  that sounds can make patterns but to say one is better than the other when you dont know is wrong thinking. I am trying to help. Blindly following what sadhguru says is wrong and I learn this and am just sharing too.

There is a video I saw of sadhguru and he says why are you saying what I am saying? Parrot sadhguru like this is a form of worship and you dont need sadhguru.

When I write I sound angry but its just the way I write it dosent come out angry in my head. I also look and sound angry in real life when I am not. If someone talk to me like I talk to people I would probably think they are angry too. But I think its just a by product of me arguing with myself all the time.

You are dreaming sadhguru. The dream sees the parrot that allows for false information to come in via sadhguru. If you constantly do this you are now a slave to whatever sadhguru says.

You are the guru.

Life itself is trying to gaslight you out of being yourself.

But the effects could be known to yourself and that's what that matters.

See, you and I didn't invent these tools, some advanced yogis came up with these a long time ago, not as a form of worshiping but practical methods to enhances ones spiritual experiences.

I personaly test it out and resonated with it, the way I feel uttering that specific sound is quite unique so thats what matters to me, my own personal experience.

Blindly following what anyone says is wrong, I understand what you concern about, this is spirituality and not religion, its all about your personal experience.

If you utter OM and you resonate with this more then that means this sound is working better on your energy and that's what matters.

@TheSelfWhat differences did you feel from saying om and saying aum. And have you tried knowing and focusing on the meaning of the word? You said earlier not to do that because sadhguru said you dont need the meaning.

Are you into kriya yoga or any spiritual system that deals with your prana?

You feel the effects on your pranic body.

You are dreaming sadhguru.

I don't care about Sadhguru, all I care about is what works on me and what doesn't. My spiritual progress.

He is an advanced Yogi btw, I respect his knowledge and wisdom.
