How to even control the dream?

11 posts in this topic

Being the solipsism god I see coincidences and synchronicities all the time where “reality” mirrors my thoughts. But I can’t actually manipulate reality like dreams and such the closet you could get to it is with manifesting etc taught by Neville Goddard but it never seems to work. Being the only consciousness that exist and I can’t even manipulate this dream absolutely fills me with rage this dream sucks!

I am he. Assuming I am afraid, I live in a

world of fear, for there is no other. Being

protean, I am playing every part in my

dream of life, be it for my good or for my

ill.

When you dream tonight of numberless people and awaken in the morning to find them gone, where did they go? Are they not all in you, created by and acted by you? Then are you not protean? You, all Imagination, are God the dreamer, imagining the many parts you are playing. This very moment is a part of your dream, and those around you are there, playing their parts because you are imagining them. You are playing the part of your husband, your wife, your children, your friends, and your enemies.

They are all you, for there is nothing but God. -Neville Goddard

Does it suck, or does it keep you sane?

Just get to the point where you realise that there is no you to have or not have control. But ultimately, everything is perfectly controlled, by a lack of control. Lol

Imagine you could dream any dream you wanted, every night - you could dream 75 years of time in one night.

Every night you could have any kind of pleasure, adventure, or experience you desired.

At first, you’d live out your wildest fantasies. Love, power, beauty, triumph, bliss! But eventually, you’d get bored of predictable pleasure.

So you’d start adding uncertainty, risk, and surprise. “Tonight, let’s dream something less predictable… maybe something that feels real.”

And after many such dreams, you’d eventually dream the kind of life you’re living right now. Complete with its ups, downs, heartbreaks, uncertainties, and miracles.

“You would be living exactly as you are now — because that’s what you would dream."

- Alan Watts

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

Is this the ultimate explanation? Boredom?

I don't think God is dreaming this human life out of boredom per se, that's too limiting I feel. I don't know if it even has a why of why God dreams, that too would be limiting. Maybe its really unknowable of why consciousness does the thing it does -- like Shankara concluded.

Or maybe it does have an answer, but I dont think its out of Boredom, maybe selflessness would be more appropriate.

@Eskilon It could be one possible meaning to be taken out of it.

I stopped searching for meaning in things a long time ago after running into paradox...

The search is beneficial because it pushes you to grow. It gives structure, direction - purpose. I learned a lot.

I think the best way to frame it is like climbing a ladder to reach the sky. Useful - until you realise the sky was never really up there was it? It was all around me the whole time :)

In addition, searching for meaning subtly reinforces the idea meaning is somewhere else - not here, not now, not within me.

But the path of seeking meaning is essential. Tears down belief, false gods, money, approval, egoic attachment. Points to something truer....

You don't look for the meaning of the music while its playing :P

Just my opinions

Controlling a dream is like wanting to control life. But there are just so many permutations and combinations and fuck-ups that the whole idea of control is a huge waste of energy.

Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing ~ Clarrisa Pinkola Estes.

SOmething tell me its about holding freeze frame images in your mind for long periods

Sometimes it's the journey itself that teaches/ A lot about the destination not aware of/No matter how far/
How you go/How long it may last/Venture life, burn your dread
