Eternity vs infinity question

6 posts in this topic

Hey everyone, I’ve been pondering a pretty mind-bending question about the nature of infinity and experience, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Imagine consciousness as an eternal space where you’re not just living one life; you’re living every possible life. You live as a human in every imaginable form—rich, poor, every culture, every era. You live as a bird, as a fish, as an alien on another planet, as a creature in the desert or the snow. Every spectrum of existence is just another thread in this infinite tapestry.

Now, here’s the real question: if this eternal consciousness is experiencing absolutely everything, does it ever run out of new experiences? In other words, does infinity just mean repeating the same loops after a while, or is there truly an endless well of novelty? What’s more powerful: the eternity of the journey, or the infinity of possibilities?

I think it’s a beautiful question because it touches on what enlightenment might mean: becoming aware of this infinite playground we’re all part of. I’d love to hear everyone’s perspectives on whether you think we eventually reach a point of repetition, or if the infinite truly never ends.

Hmm. Very speculative topic . The concept of infinity is paradoxical. If you say infinity doesn't include repetition then you make it finite .so yeah it includes repetition and that doesn't make it finite . After all..what do you think a deja vu is ?

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

@Nate0098 Infinity is infinite. Whether it's infinite experiences that are totally alien to everything you know like time running backwards as you swim through the upper atmosphere of a planet in another dimension. Or similar to what your life experience is now but with the slightest difference of one less hair on your head as you read this. Or one more. The variables are truly infinite. Infinite potential for everything and anything.

Nothing in life runs out of anything. Everything keeps going on and on and on and on and on and on.....forever; including running out of stuff. Infinity is expressed everywhere, just different contents and contexts. Don't you see it's always the same shit being expressed in different forms. That's it. It's like a fucking never ending circle including this forum and the news. Start to take notice and you'll see. It just eats itself and chews itself out. Look at a picture of infinity and you'll see it just keeps going in and out in and out. Same shit content; never running out of anything. If you ran out of money, well, now you're infinitely broke..hehe.

This forum is a perfect example of how infinity expresses itself. Also, how it 'hides' itself in plain sight. Everybody searches for infinity when it's right up their ass saying HELLO. Don't mind me; I'm infinitely silly.

What you know leaves what you don't know and what you don't know is all there is.

Infinity include running over the same experiences infinite times. If God is absolute infinity that means anything you can think of the answer is yes and its infinite.

How many experiences = infinite

How many of the same experience = infinite.

Gods like a harddrive. How many times can you play a new game on Gods infinite harddrive ? Infinite times

How many times can you play the same game? Infinite times.

How can that be possible? You are just loading states from a harddrive that already exist as you are playing other games.

How is this game here and another game here at the same time? Its just a harrdrive everything's on the Harddrive at the same time.

Gods so infinite you can do the same boring task over and over for 1000 years and keep finding new things about it. Everything in life is like that.

Like you could just flap a sheet in the wind all day for 16 years and new stuff about the interactions would keep happening. One day God would appear because you were flapping a sheet in the wind for so long. You would realize how to properly move your body with the wind to create special geometric patterns and summon a God with it.

Sometimes it's the journey itself that teaches/ A lot about the destination not aware of/No matter how far/
How you go/How long it may last/Venture life, burn your dread

My thoughts about this is that infinity doesn’t repeat itself, there’s no repetition.

Why, because Infinite is something you are, there is no one becoming infinite as that would imply time which is finite.
The infinite already is for eternity. Nature never repeats exactly.

No thing has ever known a finite experience.
