If you posted a Chat GPT dailogue between a christian and the Buddah i would have said the same.  I have strong opinions about this because i don't want to see anyone deceived.  So yes I have strong opinions.  But it doesn't mean you have to get all bent out of shape.   I want to hear your opinions too.

I already don’t see a need to explain anything to you because i think it’s generally useless and i don’t claim to have „knowledge“. But if then your choice of words and language is inflammatory and ignorant imo then there’s nothing for me to say at all.

Inflammatory and ignorant is quite relative.   Rather than declare they are ignorant it would be much more intelligent of you to explain or depict why they are ignorant from your perspective.  But you didn't do that.  And if calling it like I see it is Inflammatory then so be it.  All I'm saying is that it seems you wanted to make a post where everyone saw both sides of the dialogue.   Well..  if you wanted that you should have just kept it between you and AI.

So what exactly do you want from me?

I want you to look within yourself.  Your whole life you have you believed you are some entity that exists? Or do you believe you are just things happening.  The body moving with nothing in control.  For me I thought i was an entity behind the eyes.  A soul.   That had to be shattered with awakening.  And awakening was through meditation.   I asked you how did Tony come to know he never existed.

I don’t believe you but whatever.

I actually don’t know that much about their personal history but i do know most of them were quite heavy spiritual seekers.

Tony, Jim, Alexis, Andreas all quite heavy seekers. I‘m not sure about Kenneth and Rose.

But Tony Parsons was first „seeking“ in business and relationships, had a successful business and then became a spiritual seeker for a long time and even hung around Osho i think. How exactly the self dropped i‘m not sure. He said he was walking in a Park and the „me“ was gone. Maybe the seeking energy just ran it’s course or whatever.

I heard that too from what I have seen from what was posted here.  Well if awakening happened just out of nowhere I still think it's a disservice to newcomers to tell them it never existed.  It "dropped" for him even by your account.  That means it was there before it dropped.   The problem i see with these guys is they make it about concept.  If they say it never existed then it could never have dropped.  And if they tell newcomers it never existed then how would they ever be able to self reflect or self inquiry to drop the self.  Not everyone will have it just drop when going to the grocery store.   Not many at all.  Even meditation doesn't get most people anywhere.

I think it’s the opposite they don’t make it about a concept or a path.

And by the way. It could have been all the seeking that led to the spontaneous drop.

There still has to be a spiritual practice.  There was for me and there was for them..otherwise It just turns into a belief.  That's very dangerous.   They can just convince people there was never a self.  And then it's no different then Christianity.

I don’t think that’s how it works. You can’t just be religiously convinced that there’s no self. You’ll know if there’s a self or not if there’s a story and “personal” suffering and so on i guess.

You'd be surprised.  Spirituality can be turned into it's own religion.

Well..exactly.  And what would be the point? To free one from suffering because there isn't one to suffer?   That seems like a goal of the self.

I don't understand that of the illusory self. Why is it illusory? When I read a dialogue like this, it seems to me like two psychotics trying to be more psychotic.

What does illusory mean? Is a tree illusory? What isn't illusory? The word illusory is psychotic.

İllisuory self is actually thought based identity, it is not real. It is a mental construction, a temporary appearance, like a dream character.

So if the doctor calls me now and tells me I have brain cancer, is it an illusion?

Yes. You are the One, who is aware of the body but not the body. So body can die, but not You, because You never born.
