Many internet forums are good and useful.

I have gotten much value out of other forums.

People these days don't utilize forums enough. Forums are way better than hollow social media like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Discord.

The reason I started this forum is because I got lots of value from other forums throughout my life and wanted one of my own, centered on my favorite topics, since good self-help forums are rare.

I appreciate the forum btw man ❤️. As well as all your work with Actualized.org ❤️

I’m lucky to have you as a mentor in this life.

There is no failure, only feedback

I can just say that this forum gave me the most value of all the things I do and I do a lot of things outside of actualized.

But this forum got slow lately, it's not so easy to skip through topics. What happened.

Well it seems that some people like this way of communication. It is the reason people are here that is important. If they are here to help others and learn stuff, great. If they are here because they don't have any better survival mechanisms and copings, that becomes a problem.

Leo's answer bought me, now I understand why he is here and he has good reasons.

People like to be told how to live, it's easier. Just as some people like religions or just buying and living however their television or phone now tells them how to live. Now people like google and Chat-GPT to be their all-knowing priest, or random strangers on Reddit.

My problem with fast format, I admitted at the bottom of my comment that it can be useful, BUT, people need to think, and McDonalds self-help inhibits that, ESPECIALLY when the McDonalds workers are egoic, for example someone curious is on here and posts something they think that is contrary to the McDonalds menu, instead of fostering their curiosity people are often chastised for not just accepting the menu, 'just accept what you're told, otherwise  be yelled at for "not thinking deeply or putting in the work". It's counter to what I think we want which you talk about in your later comment "highly developed people".

My thought is that curious people, it's the curiosity that 'saves' them, no matter what they find. The reason I like Leo's videos is because of the exploration and creativity, a lot of his older work has great practical help as well. Curiosity needs nurtured, rather than doctrine shoved down people's throats like a Big Mac.

It is rare because truly developed people are rare. It is not like you go to your random bar and you find more developed people than on an Internet forum. I went to some of the most fancy hippie festivals and even there most people cannot step out of the post-modern trap. The other non-hippie festivals and events had even more underdeveloped people.

The most impressed I was by post-modern women, they have some kick. Conservative men can have some good points but they lack empathy, refinement and discipline. They don't walk the talk. And 90% of post-modern men are next to worthless. Sweden builds great women and shitty men. It is truly amazing how it works, create a safe feminine environment and women become better, men become worse.

People just follow trends like sheep. It is like installing a software on a brain. The most popular softwares in the West are modern consumerism and post-modern hippie idealism. This is a truly rare place, a place pioneering Tier 2. Beyond post modern nonsense

My life experience has been quite antithetical to this. I love talking to people in person and am often blown away by how deep some people are. I like to volunteer for a lot of different things and meet a TON of amazing people, I also meet cool people doing yoga or other health focused activities.

You may not subscribe to it, but a common school of thought is that truly developed masculine men first develop a feminine side before more fully developing into what is probably thought of here as a developed man.

I don't see anything novel discussed here.

What kind of volunteering do you do?

cleanups and construction, festivals, art shows and performances, political campaigns. Parks tend to rely a lot on volunteers. I even travel to other cities to volunteer.

In my city we also have a decent amount of political talks people give, small ones at cafe's or small venues. Lot's of thinkers there, and interesting perspectives and information. And there's a big Humanist community, and at least one Buddhist center that I've been to.

Yes, developed men have a strong feminine side. Femininity is the base on which masculinity can be built. Unfortunately I don't see many developed men in the West. My home country Romania has some grounded men, but here in Western Europe, it feels like most of them are stuck at age 15.
