Is non intervention really a high consciousness take?

4 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura posted this quote at the start of his conscious politics series as usually spiritual teachers don’t talk much about politics and I thought it was a political take. If we’re here to understand reality and truth then the human domain and politics/economics are ultimately a pretty big part of that.

We’ve discussed politics in depth recently especially after the recent US elections but ultimately what does discourse accomplish apart from giving us a few enlightening insights here and there?

I run a politics chat on Instagram and my insight after almost a year of doing so is that it’s mostly people arguing back and forth then nothing happens. I think action in the real world is the only way to put your money is and actually affect reality. I plan to volunteer in local charities that giveaway food and ultimately create my own organization around it.

We have a decent amount of members on this forum and I’ve connected with an actualizer in real life and a few personally on Instagram and that’s been fun. I wonder if Leo this is something you’d like to encourage further as I know you wanted to do a book tour and other types of real life meeting. If we wanna change the world we gotta be a part of it. I’m a big reader of your blog and it’s given me a lot of high quality insights but recently it seems like just criticism of the system that almost sounds like just negativity without concrete action at this point.

Food for thought

Most people are clueless chimps so don't expect them to get politics. But we also cannot stop them from voting. Who is there to decide who can vote?

Most chimps will vote what vibes with them, even if we have very smart people who involve themselves into politics, they might not get enough votes because chimps don't vibe with fairness and inclusivity. And when I mean inclusivity I don't mean woke inclusivity which excludes everyone they don't like.

Bottom line: we can have lots of people involved in politics, but if their level of consciousness is low, they will push their low consciousness agenda onto others. We can just invest in education and wait until most chimps become lesser chimps.

The only alternative to not taking responsibility for your politics is that corrupt people do.

Politics is the governing of how we survive as a collective and is therefor a channel for wealth and power by proxy. If you don't use it consciously you use it selfishly by default. That is the situation.

The British haven't been taking responsibility for their politics and having Tories (right wing) in power for a decade+ has run their country down. Americans were largely irresponsible with Trump. 1/3 of Americans didn't even bother voting last election.

The Trolley problem has been a good thought exercise considered by philosopher 1967 by Philipa Foot - this hits at the core of the issue.

What would you do and why? Actions vs outcome. Which carries more weight?

The ethics behind non-action.

Added a better video that outlines the framework behind the trolley problem that applies

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.
