How to reduce your resistance to start mediation to near zero.

When we meditate are ego get put out of its conventual way of operating. So we can say to the thought/idea/feeling of resistance something along the lines of "this will improve my ego functioning's." So the resistance is of ego has to reason to operate.

There is a problem of course is that if you think the ego is something to get rid of then this wont work. I would argue that if you are a human you have ego, enlightened masters have a ego of them as nothingness. So the difference between their ego and yours is theirs is improved you can say. Thus this is what we want to achieve in mediation. With this logic you should then say to the construction of the belief system that creates resistance "meditating is improving the ego functioning's"

Any if you don't believe me that is fine but my case I have seen the resistance turn into excitement to meditate. If I knew about this years ago it would of made a MASSIVE difference.

I agree with the general idea. You kind of "negotiate" cooperate, create a win-win.

But in my experience it doesn't work that easily. Can't change my belief system just by telling my self things. Only in deep meditation states, then this happened more or less automatically by relaxing and simply being present.

Now slowly it goes from "I have to meditate" to "Cool I mediate".  Took me quite some time, though. 

For me: It's the experience that shapes the belief, not vice versa.

Otherwise: just believe that you're happy, that there is no resistance at all, that you and the world is full of love etc. 

So first make your believes (blockages) conscious, then you are free to change them.

So much my experience - I am open for other arguments and experiences

Meditation is going to the gym for the mind. At first it's a schedule disrupter and a pain so you have to push through. You have to make it a normal part of the day, not a choice to ponder just something you always do. Then it's as easy as pie. When it's easy you are open to it turning fun and deep. What happens doesn't matter; you just do it regardless. If you miss some days no big deal as sometimes life beckons. Afterwards get back on the horse. After a year ego will tell you nothing has happened and nothing has changed. This is a lie. Every hour feeds your soul and makes that very day a milestone.

Try this one specifically like the guy at 3:55, you can even lean further for 15 minutes. This is the easiest position I have seen to see the mind clearly.

Hmm it is mine lol. There can be a problem when your ego 'forgets' that. So you need to tell it again and again and again. To be honest this is a belief that you only feel what you want to. Although we humans are very forgetful and unwise which puts a spanner in the works of this belief being obviously apparent.

I get up in the morning and I either follow ego dictates and its plans and routines xyz sleep rinse repeat

or I abide free of arising thought full of loving awareness for all that arrives at my gaze.

Meditation helps cement this state in place though don't ask ego to confirm cause it will respond that you are a loser just wasting your life.
