The Illusion of No Self: The Ego’s Favorite Escape Route.

92 posts in this topic

The Truth is: You’re full of shit, not Empty.

Everything you've ever known, thoughts, feelings, time, space, form, self, is appearing within you. But you… are not inside any of it.

You are not in your body. You are not in your mind. You are not floating in some vast universe. That entire experience is inside what you truly are: formless, locationless, timeless awareness.

Your body? Imagined.
Your past? Imagined.
Your identity? Imagined.
The universe? Imagination playing with itself inside you.

You're not a person. You're not a soul. You're not an observer.

You are the invisible field in which the cosmos rises and collapses endlessly, and not one flicker of it can ever touch the real you.

You’ve mistaken yourself for a ripple in the ocean…
But you are the water.

Quoting non-duality isn’t awakening. You’re not beyond the self if you still need to win arguments. Saying there's no self while avoiding God is like saying there’s no actor while playing the role harder than anyone else. If you really knew there was no self, you wouldn't be hiding behind that idea like a shield. If you were truly empty, your words wouldn’t be so full of self-defense.

You say "reality is just what appears", but that’s because you’re terrified of what you are behind the appearance.  Every time someone challenges you, you scream there’s nothing to defend, while your entire goddamn identity is built around defending that. You call everything an illusion, but your ego is the loudest thing in the room, and it’s screaming for attention.

There is nothing to defend.

God, ego and no self are exactly the same everything..........that's what nonduality is pointing out.

Who is full of shit?

The illusion would be, believing they are separate things.

There’s no beef with that pointing. 🙏

@VeganAwake

You’re right, it’s all One. But who is saying that? And why?

Are you actually gone? Or are you still trying to be right while pretending there’s no “you”? Not you personally, speaking broadly. Saying God, ego, and no-self are the same without realizing it directly in consciousness, without dying into that truth is just empty philosophy.

The one who is “full of shit” is the one using nonduality to sound awake, while still defending their separate identity with clever ideas. No one is full of shit, because there is no one. But the illusion is still flapping its gums, pretending it gets it. It’s self-deception with a Zen bumper sticker slapped on.

Oh damn. Powerful

Imagine for a moment, dear friends, that you are Conciousness, and that you have only this one awareness - that you are at peace, and that you are.

I quote non-duality. Never claimed to be awake. People are the ones slapping labels on me. I'm just an ordinary person just like the bum on the street who pisses and shits, just like Osho.

How is time appearing inside of me. Is Australia's time of 4hrs behind or how much the time lapse is, appearing inside of me when I'm on America's time. Truth is, you don't like to be challenged. Also, I don't know space. Everything is not an illusion. The illusion is you thinking you're teaching anyone anything and that there's a person there that's timeless awareness, boundless and formless. You are not timeless and boundless there is JUST timelessness and boundlessness and what ever else you said I was.

This is what happens when the so-called ego feels threatened. It has no ground to stand on. It's shaky. Doesn't like to hear it's nothing. I would love to see what you're talking about but I just can't see it. I've been through the crooks and nannies and still can't see how I'm the invisible field that nothing can touch.

All I see is that a car can knock me down and send me to the hospital. Problem is there's no me just a bunch of programming and faulty wiring wrapped up in beliefs and concepts and ideas and stories. Stories I'll tell about a car crash and bodily aches and pain. The body may smash to pieces and I'll feel hurt and pain and feel awful, I guess while the real me is in space somewhere unscathed. You keep insisting there's a you out there somewhere. This invisible field. "There is no you" sounds better than me being some invisible field that nothing can touch. Nothing can already touch be here on earth because I and all objects are the same so I can't be touched by anything because there is no I. Poor body will feel it though.

The person is the separation. (ego).  The person doesn't believe anything is separate. There is no one and the person is separation itself and everything now is separate and incomplete and needs fixing. All that comes with the person's energy. There's no one to see oneness or completeness. It can't be seen because that's also wholeness doing the looking.

Quoting nonduality doesn’t make you awake, it makes you a parrot. You say you’re not claiming anything, but you’re dripping with superiority and defensiveness.

classic example of ego dressing itself up in spiritual language while pretending to be humble. I’m just a regular person like the bum on the street, while slipping in jabs like, “You don’t like to be challenged,” or “You’re not teaching anyone anything". There’s a performative detachment, “I never claimed to be awake” yet a sharp urge to correct and discredit.

Not sure where you've seen me say there's anyone to be awake. If anything, I say the opposite. Many times. Dripping with superiority is your idea of me and i may make points and defend them as what it is I'm saying, explaining, trying to make one understand what I'm saying, never defend as in what I'm saying is the truth and what others say isn't. I just speak what I'm speaking and disagree if I disagree. Disagree is not being defensive.

I don't have to pretend to be humble. I'M JUST A REGULAR PERSON JUST LIKE THE BUM ON THE STREET AND JUST LIKE OSHO. I'm not correcting, I'm saying my bit while challenging yours. You can always come back with something and maybe allow for a new perspective and I'll gladly say oh I see and I agree. When you come across like that, the response you'll get will be a bit cynical, yes because I knew you were referring to me and your tone was pretty vile. It's OK, though. I don't mind. Speak your mind, criticize if you want, but I will still speak just like you speak on what you believe to be the case. Why do you pay me any mind if you so dislike my messages and how I speak. Just ignore.

I've always said either you are all awake or there's no one to awaken but I get criticized for thinking I'm awake. Make that make sense. What's being unnoticed is that I'm getting slapped with projections and ideas of what one thinks of me without anything to stand on. Just because I speak on stuff it doesn't mean I think I'm awake. My mind is open for anything, but when I see contradictions I will call it out and maybe it can be rebutted where I may see something i didn't see before. No need to be in a silent rage when challenged, just have an open discussion about it.

The problem is, when we have teachers and gurus that we look up to and admire and go with, follow and believe everything or just about everything they say without truly understanding what's being said and we look up to them like they are our Gods to worship, we start to throw everybody else who speak of similar things under the bust and especially if that person is just another commoner in our eyes and shouldn't be knowing or speaking anything without the enlightenment degree. Please shut up and stay in your place because you have not been ordained with the robe, the beard, a yt channel, courses, books, sit on a throne and whatever else ideas of what someone is supposed to look like, have or has accomplished to be authorized to speak on this stuff.

God forbid, one has seen through or recognized or realized or whatever the word is for themselves the same thing that someone in authority like a man on a throne has said and now you're a parrot. Reading this thread's OP read more like a self-inquiry class and stuff I can pull up a yt video that's reciting the same thing. Atleast when I speak, I can go into my own words and express my own depth of understanding for what it is I'm saying. Saying time is inside of me just didn't compute because time is a construct and doesn't actually exist. I want people to challenge me respectfully when I say stuff because it allows for me to probably recognize blind spots and open me up to see where something just doesn't add up. This is what I do and why I used to listen to different teachings so I can put it together for myself and better able to explain or understand what it is I'm hearing and see if it all aligns with everything else.
