Coping with Covid

7 posts in this topic

I just came down witb Covid.

Symptoms include a nasty sore throat, lethargy, soreness, diarehia & the general sensation of "feeling like shit."

Anyone has advice? Other than staying home & drinking soup n shit?

Lol, I want a magic pill more than ever.

I've learned to accept it. Accepting it is a painful process, of course. I still get coughing episodes years later.

Do not be ashamed of yourself, it is not your fault for being sick.

I do not think there is a magic pill that would fit all, however vitamin D comes the closest according to my research and experience. A mega-dose of it could potentially alleviate many of your symptoms (helped me push through any kind of sickness in a day or two - even before I started to take it daily), however there are some potential complications to it (especially to such a large dose from ground zero). Vitamin D3 uses Magnesium, therefore if you are already low on it then it could off-set the balance even further (insomnia, cramps, constipation, nausea etc.).

There are other cofactors to it, which can help with activation and utilization - Omega-3, Boron, Zinc, Copper, K2, Vitamin C etc.

I use a sublingual form (MCT Oil), which absorbs better and bypasses the need of capsules (as well as the need to take it with food).

EDIT: Since you are experiencing diarrhea already, your Magnesium needs are already elevated (some forms of Magnesium (oxide and citrate) have laxative effects which don't help - Bisglycinate works for me at the moment). Don't forget to rehydrate yourself as well, lots of water are lost with diarrhea.

Give your body some time to fight the infection, there is not much interference needed.

Of course do the usual like warm teas and staying well hydrated, eating light, getting some fresh air and sleeping a lot but other than that let your immune system recover do what it was designed to do by hundreds of thousands of years of evolution

Many "magic pill solutions" might just numb immune response or waste your money.

I do agree with @Norbert Somogyi that over long term checking and optimizing your vit D levels is a great idea.
