  1. @Strikr Trying to come up with something to respond but ..... I can't
  2. @Leo Gura Will do, will do @kieranperez Thank you, I think you made a good point! @Joseph Maynor It is big, but the way it's written seems very light and clear, actually! Just like the way he speaks. Thanks guys if I come across some insights I might share them if I feel like that is what I have to do... Keep it up guys <3
  3. Thanks guys! Actually as I started reading it was pointed out by Ralston that the book indeed should be read from a position of not knowing anything. @Flammable I guess you're right "If I were to say to you that in this moment your own mind and perceptions keep you from an experience of your true nature and the nature of reality, you may well wonder what I'm talking about. That's OK. Simply be open to the possibility that there is something about yourself and reality that is "hidden in plain sight." Not-knowing certainly isn't the sole topic of this book, but rather the best state from which to read it. The real topic of this book is you." - segment out of the book, page 9 Anyway all your responses are appreciated!! Had to laugh at some of them. Also @Outer thank you for the elaborated response : ) Imma start reading
  4. Hi again dear people, When I am not doing anything particularly emotionally intense / exciting etc. it is easier for me to remain present than when I for example go out with friends / do something demanding / or just in general step out of the door. I guess it seems easier when I'm at home than when I'm in public. The follow up question would be; do I even know what awareness is, or am I simply referring to some state which ultimately is completely different from awareness? What I feel awareness to be is a state of flow, a very peaceful state in which competence seems to be much higher and thoughts are much more direct and clear. My worry here is that I am simply confusing focus with awareness. And I know that systematic mental processes can cause ego depletion (which simply means running out of gas). The final step in this question would be: does awareness run out of gas? (My intuition says No it does not) Because if it does not, then I might be confusing attention span with awareness. Hopefully this is clear enough, it's hard to state exactly everything and I want to keep it short. Also, I use awareness and presence interchangeably here. P.S Bonus question, when is it appropriate to ask questions 'externally' and when is it better to contemplate them yourself? Can be tough sometimes as asking questions can be a distraction inner of itself I feel. Thanks guys keep rocking
  5. I opened my third eye once (if we indeed are talking about some sort of 3rd eye, but I do not speak from direct experience if I say that there is actually such an "eye") and it was too much for me to bear at that moment. It was like I just did LSD. I was completely confused! That was about a year ago. But I did not take any drugs, I was only meditating with one of those 3rd eye opening binaural beats you'll find on youtube. Don't resist it and see what happens!
  6. I get what you mean but I think the question is a distraction @CreamCat
  7. Love this ? @Roman Edouard But yeah you are beating a dead horse with this topic if it was actually intended to be serious
  8. Wonderful for sure!! Can't help but laugh at these kind of video's. And funny how they always say something along the lines of "It really is so simple?", and then they laugh again. Putting it to use might be less simple, but I can't speak for that matter
  9. What I do is I tell myself: "When you think you've got it, you're back at square one" (unless you catch yourself before you have that thought). It's a lot of back and forth and back and forth until you get dizzy and want to give up but remember giving up is not an option... Or something like that. But I don't really know what it even means to do it correctly ... Definitely not me you should be asking, maybe only yourself... But I am trying to figure this out myself
  10. I laughed out loudxD And then I also laughed at your profile picture haha. Sorry guys do stay on topic
  11. @Shin once a week? you did that for how long
  12. I think @LiakosN is making a very good point here! Mirror stuff does wonders for me too- and yes don't let it get to your head. You need to know when taking a step backwards is actually a step forward.. tough for sure sometimes.
  13. Just for the first part of the question: If done correctly, consciousness work is the polar opposite of trying to run away from anything shitty. But it's almost never (completely) done correctly, hence why Leo recommends for example not to idolize him (which, a lot of us fall into this trap,) and instead do your own research etc etc etc.
  14. Hi family of Truth, Any of you any experience with speaking an "alien" tongue? And by alien I mean a language which originated outside of the planet Earth? Also which you didn't speak already but you learned perhaps... Thanks, P.S The reason is asked is because of linked video.
  15. @Barry J Cool man but this is not an answer. You're not giving me anything tangible to work with here
  16. It means that you are the demonic influences- and you resist them
  17. "You may bump your thread once per 24 hours if no one has responded to you." - Guidelines Well, it's been only 22.. So technically this is not allowed. But I go to bed soon, should be okay? Perhaps I am asking a stupid question. Perhaps yes, so please guys tell me if that is the case. But I do think it would mean much if there actually exist people who can speak such languages (as video above). So... Maybe it's fake maybe not, but that should not be the question? The question is if it is in my direct experience, well for me kinda but I am wondering about you guys.
  18. Crazy story Salcedoop. Can you explain what you meant with "a storm will come to wipe it clean someday?"
  19. Lovely people, Alan Watts (as some of you might know) was a wise, philosophically minded person. Also, he supposedly drunk a lot. Is alcohol a hindrence to awareness? Obviously it feels this way when you dink, but does it actually influence "progress"? Or is the idea of progress stupid to begin with? Not according to Leo. You guys are amazing so just to be truthful, I do drink now when I'm at parties organized by my student association. Should I stop drinking completely? Or is this just something I have to contemplate myself? Thanks guys. Have a great day.
  20. Hi lovely people, Some of you are quite developed here I believe, but I was thinking by myself about enlightenment. Is it true when I say that "Enlightenment" is Death? Secondly (question mark), both physical and mental death or ... only physical? Thanks guys
  21. I think that at the point you were considering that you might miss the stuff you had to do (IRL) you started to freak out. Next time remember in the dream that time does not pass the same there (if it exists at all percievably) than in the waking state.
  22. Thanks for all the replies my friends. Unless I'm missing the point of physical/mental here, why are we talking about this then? Since you guys are replying that means you're physically alive right, you moved your fingers to type .. etc. So are we then not all beating around the bush? We are not dead.
  23. But leo (pun not intended), that cant be right. You are saying then that if I commit suicide physically then there is enlightenment. But you also say its the same as the mental aspect- so killing the mental self would result in physical death?
