  1. you can't i don't mean to be rude but i thought this is common knowledge in meditation at least you hear this a lot when people explain meditation probably the only way to not think is to embrace bordom
  2. Deep work, so good they can't ignore you by cal newport the road less traveled by scott m peck Not a book but Vsuaces mindfield series he did an episode on Psychedelics in season 2
  3. It's something i think that's important to be be able to do if you want to make progress in personal development would be awesome if there was a video on it
  4. There is self education a lot of free stuff to learn from(a website called khan academy is a good place to start otherwise it shouldn't be difficult to find a website to learn the topic you chose) concentration is a skill you can get better at(aka deep work) for life purpose i recomed reading so good they can't ignore you lots of leos videos should have some of the answers you are looking for maybe some books on the book list will help too the road less traveled by scott m peck(one of the things he talks about is that we should take responsibility for our problems it has a lot of useful information) good luck
  5. i was just very inspired and then i started i doesn't have to be complicated but if you are looking for something where you always will feel passioned about it it will probably take a very long time
  6. why wouldn't it be okay? it might not be as accurate but i don't think anyone can stop you from doing it if you want to btw don't you mean from other persons instead of in other person?
  7. not really sure what you mean by shadow (a persons shadow?) but otherwise i agree but why is this in video request?
  8. highly recommend reading so good they can't ignore you i am sure you will have almost every answer you are looking for in there
  9. not really sure if its a video request or not but he have a really good video on it here
  10. I personally think any instruments could be used it's just a matter of how you use the instrument (i am a composer)
  11. The best thing i have found is to concentrate more intense to keep up the comprehension there is a book about it called deep work
  12. Maybe it isn't necessary to try everything it's possible that you can still get what you want the most from doing a few things really well or just the most relevant things but i think it's possible that one can accomplish much more than one would think i know because i made that mistake in the past i think the key to accomplish a lot is just about how effective you spend your time doing it and how much of that effective time you spend in the long run even if it isn't possible to accomplish everything you want i still think its better to start anyway if you haven't as i think its best to at least make some progress in the direction you want rather than no progress at all
  13. I think maybe just enough to find a permanent solution or until the problem becomes a non issue(i have linked a few videos on the topic above) the results you really want to have its likely that it will come from taking direct action towards the problem (i think the best chance of getting the results you want is to give your absolute full attention on one problem at a time untill it's solved) but i also think the key is to balance theory and pratice(which is an other video leo have) but i think that its important that the theory is relevant to the problem and that you think its could be a solution
  14. at least you know how to deal with it but he also talks a little about understanding it he says in the video that the reason why you are suffering is because you are resiting difficult strong emotion(s) or just any emotions (if the suffering is related to a emotion) but he goes in more detail in it in the video
  15. I don't mean to be rude but i start to see this argument more frequently first flat earth and now this isn't it a bit unnecessary? What would the benefits be from the government how many actually does enlightenment compared to everyone who is alive? And how bad is the consequences if it's actually true? Even if they are behind some plan or something it still possible we can take responsibility for our actions (I don't mean to say "how dare you to ask this" feel free to i just think its a bit unnecessary in case if you where referring to me)
  16. thats make kinda sense but is enlightenment the same as getting rid of the ego? (i don't know anything about enlightenment)
  17. i don't know anything about enlightenment so idk just talking about the ego vs resisting emotions sorry didn't saw it was to Spiral when i wrote it
  18. how does killing the ego get you in number 3? to get into number 3 isn't that where personal development tools come in? (for example, fixing the problems at the root cause, accepting it and make peace with it in this case etc.) i am sorry i still don't get why killing the ego isn't resisting emotions
  19. you might want to if you are dealing with strong negative emotions(some drink to avoid dealing with them for example) but i don't want to I am just trying to get a better understanding on why you want to remove the ego but i agree that changing something so you feel better is a good idea but probably best while fully feeling your emotions without resistance (as leo recommend)
  20. but isn't that still resisting? isn't everything else other than fully feel them without resistance resisting the emotions?
  21. what the difference between getting rid of the ego and resisting emotions?
  22. Yes one can become equally good at the career you chose but if you want to be so good they can't ignore you the best chance is to stick with something you are already good at because it will take longer if you divide your attention to many things as i said before you can still switch career if you want to but it might take some time to get as good as your other career and longer to be so good they can't ignore you what i mean by you can get equally good at any career is not that you can become an expert in as many fields as you want but in what ever field you chose you should still be able to become an expert in many fields but it's probably limited due to how long it takes thats right about more or less 5 years but there are some other advantages with staying longer with one career there might be a better chance to have a bigger impact but it is also important it is with something you are really interested in(if you are not interested in it it might be better to do something else you are interested in and get really good at that) i recomend reading the book if you need more clarification there is probably some good information in the life purpose course too but I haven't taken it my self yet so i am not sure what content it has but i guess it's really good like leos other content
  23. There is a difference between limits with the mind and limits with the body I haven't taken the life purpose course i just mentioned the things i have been learning on my own releated to learning and expertise the only place where there is a difference in learning really seems to be with the body not with the mind for example in basketball i have heard being tall matters and it's not something you just can fix like that (if you even have self control over it) thats the only place i have found limits plays a role it also seems un fair to compeare someone with legs with someone who doesn't (or vice versa) in a sport that require legs the body should be the only place where there is a limited in learning and the author of peak seems to agree with this(in fact thats why I mentioned and think it my self) And the reason why i think that about iq is because none of the books seems to support it in terms of what matters for expertise plus there is a whole book about intense focus called deep work that also argues that focus is the new iq and that focus is really a skill(read the book for more details) stephen hawking is probably one of the best in hes field and he can't even move most of hes body i think thats a good example that the body doesn't set limits for what the mind can do but it does set limits for whats the body can do btw if you already are in a field thats about whats you are good at i recommend to go with it but for other reasons which is mostly based on so good they can't ignore you(a book thats about the idea thats it first when you become really really good is that where you will have passion and the best chance is to go with something you already are good at because if you divide your attention to many things you minimize the time you have to get so good they can't ignore you in one field or the field that matters to you)
  24. I think it make sense that if everyone used the same learning method, time and learned under the same circumstances(for example free of distractions) the chance of getting the same results would be really high(also that they are at the same level in the field it would be unfair to take a completely new person in the field against an expert) i agree that somebody who have had more effective experience in the field would probably do better than someone who hasn't but I don't think that limits the other person to have the same results if the person use similar methods
