Nahm replied to andyjohnsonman's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@andyjohnsonman Try a practice of with every arising thought, think of the opposite thought, this helps to realize not believing or identifying with arising thoughts / seeing the meaninglessness. This is how One/You convinces itself it is Twoness/Thinking/Maya/Illusion. The concepts aren’t removed so much as realized to have been added, and when unbelieved, and rendered useless. The hilarity of thinking. Wu! & “Alan Watts gong” point to this, as does every thing sensed. After a while, there is less and less to be resolved (monkey mind), all thinking is duality, all beliefs are falsity. No mind is there all along. “Presence” Is “no mind”. Physicality, your talking, their talking, your thinking, their thinking, communication, language, objects, sounds, identities, practices, etc, etc, all things appear in no mind, but are duality, illusory, always in twoness. What is not two is one, so that One must therefore be you, so “it” (twoness/illusion/duality) can not be spoken. No mind just is. Even more practically speaking, you probably already notice when your’re talking with someone, there is also an inner monologue running about what you and they’re are thinking and talking about. Initially, label the inner monologue “thinking”, and the conversation “conversation”. You’ll begin to be aware thinking is not as much part of the conversation, it just seems like one has to think of what to say next. But counterintuitively, what is next said is authentic, without the “preparatory” thinking / inner monologue / over thinking. -

Wise words ?? Once home, everyone else had been there all along. -
He's a brilliant marketer, as we're talking about him now and it's a matter of time before we mention his product, but what has he created in the world, how has he changed the world, why do you say he is so productive? (For those of us who are really ignorant about him). Thanks!

@korbes Do you have a solid understanding of how the world and everything in it appears dualisticly? -

@Timotheus Sounds rough man. You're answering your own question here. A few days alone, no electronics, except maybe Onenote to capture the insights...? -
Nahm replied to MisterNoodle's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@MisterNoodle This lands about as welcomed as one is comfortable being alone, and takes years to even begin to be understood. If I were you, I would continue looking into it. And say hi to your brother for me! -
@Elysian yes! ? ? ?

Would would thank or be thanked? What “objects”? What is a “construct”? What’s an “observer”? Name 3. Now Is that a thought/belief, or your own direct experience? What do you even mean, “reality”? Where does “reality” start? Where does “reality” end? Know this “thing” you’re talking about. -

OH YES THERE IS. -
@Annoynymous Fear arises through the ignorance of what you are; notice thinking & talking about fear at the no self stage can become obsessive - but go all the way, know Self, and fear is revealed to be falsity that was always rooted in thinking ( supported with the illusion of “self”), like other facets of suffering. This reference lists some specific fear-defenses with simple explanations, so you can know what’s happening, slow it down, and see through them. Psychedelics are great for blasting you through the id as well, if you’re up for that. ❤️❤️❤️ https://www.simplypsychology.org/defense-mechanisms.html I suggest it’s also helpful to label fear as “unconscious”, and ‘be conscious of it’ instead, when it “hits”.

@Andreas If you practice honing in on that you’ll start noticing what they’re thinking too. Don’t mess with this unless you’re in a really good carefree mood though. Try it with a friend. First, have them stand behind you, around 15 feet, and have them make a sound with their voice. You notice the sound is not taking place in your ear, but that you are aware of the sound exactly where the sound is. Have them move around and then make a sound again a few times. Then start with them behind you looking at you and thinking a great loving thought about you, and then wait a few minutes, and then the opposite thoughts about you. When you notice that, you “tuned to their frequency” more each time. If you have any negative experiences with this, know you can basically forget about it, and it will stop all on it’s own.

Did it have horns? And where do you as the observer end, and objects being observed begin? How do you know you’re aware of this? -

@Enizeo Hey, sorry, I missed your post somehow. Yes, I’ve tried different heights. I usually use this one for an hour or more sit... https://www.google.com/search?q=meditation+cushion&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=sivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiIst_C7IbfAhUNP60KHejxCDYQ_AUoAnoECBoQAg&biw=1366&bih=922#imgrc=o7sdyjAZ2TVWXM And a pretty generic round cushion for shorter sits.
