ajasatya replied to Strikr's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Strikr becoming a monk, letting go of all attachments and getting used to living without a single drop of external validation. in other words, becoming a random nobody in the most literal way. -
then you're already including the bad and the good stuff in a single word. affection is healthy and attachment is toxic. what do you mean by "growth"? what do you want to grow towards? i bet there's so much more to investigate and you're afraid of hurting yourself in the process. also, remember to be radically honest with yourself or your suffering will last longer. what is it really? are you sick of him? do you want new experiences? do you feel like you're too young to commit to a true long-term relationship, say, marriage, with him?
-
@Nadie what do you mean by "love"?
-
@kieranperez nice. and what are your actions? what is your actual effort?

this thread has already gone past ridiculous imo. talking through someone else's words is a signal of insuficient introspection. gosh, give it time and think it all the way through by yourself first... i could very much be playing the role of the fool that would post articles defending the veganism and showing vegan body builders and strongman champions. if you're still trying to convince others that you need meat to survive, it means that you're not in peace with your choice. work on yourself, eat what you think is right and be mindful of the consequences to the environment. if you can't deal with your responsibilities, then shame on you.

100% agreed

the best approach is simply trying it on yourself and observing how you feel after a few months. for me it was an obvious improvement for the two main reasons: improved attention... felt more awaken; easier digestion; less anxiety; more balanced sexual drive and better sexual performance; every moment felt lighter and more pleasant getting out of the violent food chain was extremely relieving direct experience is priceless. the academic approach is almost useless.

@Larrade saying "my ego" - as if it were some kind of entity with its own power of will - is helpless. instead, take action and start a new life with new habits. i highly recommend yoga btw. the mind is a reflection of the daily activities. spiritual purification is the long-term deep and radical change of actions that promotes drastic changes in the mechanics of the mind. spiritual purification is the exchange of the content of the mind. imagine you have a cup of concentrated alcohol and then you start adding water until it floods but you keep adding water until it eventually have (theoretically) only water. that's how we change the mind. we don't just remove the alcohol. we do it by adding more and more water. also that's why all spiritual schools come up with a certain set of moral concepts and practices, like the yamas and the niyamas. let water flow through your life.

then why are you having this experience? you obviously want it. there is certainly a mysterious and unstoppable desire to exist deep deep down within the field of consciousness. you just lack direct experience of your most fundamental nature. once you notice what death is really about, you'll shit bricks. you don't know what you're saying. enough whining already.

@TheSomeBody you don't realize the depth of the lie you're telling yourself.

it doesn't. we become aware of the root cause of our sufferings so we can take action. sometimes action is doing nothing. it happens when we're addicted to doing stuff. -

whatever you think, hear or say about it is wrong. -

@Aaron p what can you do if you have a thorn stuck in your finger but you don't see it? -

@sleeperstakes drop the "i'm so special" belief. we're all brothers and sisters, born from father and mother and walking towards the same fate.

@MarkusSweden stop reproducing if you're irresponsible. it's that simple. if you're responsible and can help bring awesome human beings into this planet, please do so.

@MarkusSweden why so much struggle? just drop the struggle... -

from "i" to "we", then from "we" to "i" again. notice that everyone points to the same thing when they say "i", even though they may think that they're pointing to a separated unit. -
"everyone should..." is a straightforward advice. he's either contradicting himself or calling himself stupid. pick one
-
@Cortex still contradicting yourself. you're funny

are you struggling to find something that you can define as yourself? don't worry. 99.99999999% of the human beings are on the same boat. also, it can't be done. -
ajasatya replied to Sashaj's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sashaj bad news: nobody else can answer those questions for you good news: nobody else can answer those questions for you even if jesus appeared and told you the answers, why would you believe him? there's no ultimate authority other than Direct Experience. -
@stevegan928 hello there i'm sorry for your friend. i recommend that you don't try to figure out why he would do that. instead, i'd use this context to figure out why i am alive and what i want to do with my life. pain is uncomfortable but it can help us break through our limits.

what is the root cause of your anxiety?

@Tistepiste i don't have autism so i don't know better. i'm going to talk a little bit about myself. i went to several psychiatrists/psychologists in the past and all of them were completely helpless. so i decided to take care of my health by myself, like every adult should do. i started to observe the situations that made me suffer and i was able to understand the pattern. i was studying myself through the lens of direct experience, not like we study about other things. i became conscious of the sources of my struggles and then i managed to change my daily habits in a way that the bad patterns wouldn't get fed anymore. sometimes it does require radical change. i remember that i had to suddenly decide to go out for a walk a few times that i noticed that i was starting to live in my head. i had to learn how to get out of my head and inhabit my whole body. i started to practice lots of things. tai chi, yoga, biodance... anything that would require me to be conscious of my body while breathing and moving. this is why i highly recommend those practices for people who haven't learned how to enjoy being as a body yet. the body experience can be extremely liberating.
