Start meditating daily in order to build that strong sense of awareness where ever you are at. Be it in a crowded street, a loud restaurant, or speaking to a crowd. Feel your body, pressures on your feet, clothes on your skin, wind on your face. Connect with your body and not your mind. And do things one by one, with care and deliberate movements. Don't get so easily pulled in by external factors, but this will require a strong awareness. Meditate! -
@Orange Instead of adding more things to your psychology especially with more new agey stuff, begin a process of undoing. You right now sound like you are big messy yarn ball. Start pulling the strings, unwind. Or a better metaphor, start to peel the layers of the onion. Peel after peel after peel until you reach the core of the onion. Begin by meditating 20 mins every single day, in this way you will slowlyy strip your conditioning of unnecessary habits, perceptions, and especially the obsessive thinking. You will slower over months, years build a strong sense of awareness, that should be your priority right now. To have strong sense of awareness. Like a sword you sharpen little by little every single day through sitting and meditating. A warrior must have a sharp sword at all times to slice through illusions of the mind. Very very important in a person's life. If you have any questions regarding mediation, and I mean ANY questions, please let me know and I would gladly answer any. I also recommend watching the movie "Peaceful Warrior" if you need some motivation, or better yet read the book, "Way of The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman"

@jes That is great to hear jes. You must not skip a day! Practice, practice, practice. Put it as your priority. Become a peaceful warrior. One day you will not need to meditate as you will be resting in awareness all the time.
-
@jes Cultivate and master meditation. Begin to see the falsehood of these thoughts. Thoughts arise from nothing and are completely random. You suffer because you pick, choose, and believe in them.
-
@jes Start meditating 20mins every single day, CONSISTENTLY. Through meditation you will strengthen your awareness and so when you get emotionally triggered you will have a strong sense of not getting too sucked into them.

Quit watching shit like this, and quit feeding your subconscious with this shit too. It's unnecessary for someone to watch death videos just to realize that there is something upsetting about this world. Just walk around in the city and look at around you and that's enough already. These are all ultimately external forms of distractions of yourself from looking inwards. First begin by changing yourself (psychologically) than think about changing the world by giving value.
-
These thoughts arose while meditating today: "I" or all of human species or living things are no more or less valuable than let's say a single grain of sand. Every single thing in this Universe is a manifestation of It (Source, God, w/e), it is It. I am no different than this chair, pencil, blade of grass etc. only the mind/ego creates these sorts of values and importance for it's specific needs and desires to thrive, which ultimately is an illusion. <-- Mind matrix. With the absence of mind/ego everything is perfect just as it is, as it sees that it is part of it all, and therefore all, literally. But then again these are just ideas, concepts and also an illusion. One has to be it themselves for it to become truth.

Posted this on another thread but it might be useful here: I remember reading something from Eckhart Tolle in A New Earth saying that to do everything from a place of being. In another words, checking into your awareness should be your #1 priority before doing anything. Living from inside out rather than for outside in. From, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle: 3 Modalities of Awakened Doing are Acceptance, Enjoyment, and Enthusiasm. You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all - from the most simple tasks to the most complex. If you are not in the state of either acceptance, enjoyment, or enthusiasm, look closely and you will find that you are creating suffering for yourself and others. Performing an action in the state of acceptance means you are at peace while you do it. If you can neither enjoy or bring acceptance to what you do - stop, Otherwise, you are not taking responsibility for the only thing you can really take responsibility for, which also happens to be the one thing that really matters: your state of consciousness. And if you are not taking responsibility for your state of consciousness, you are not taking responsibility for your life. It makes it appear that the joy comes from what you do, but that is not the case. Joy does not come from what you do, it flows into what you do and thus into this world from deep within you. This misperception that joy comes from what you do is normal, and it is also dangerous, because it creates the belief that joy is something that can be derived from something else, such as an activity or thing. You then look to the world to bring you joy, happiness. But it cannot do that. This is why many people live in constant frustration. Then there is another way of creative manifestation that may come to those who remain true to their inner purpose of awakening. Suddenly one day they know what their outer purpose is. They have a great vision, a goal, and from then on the work toward implementing that goal. Their goal or vision is usually connected in some way to something that on a smaller scale they are doing and enjoy doing already. This is where the third modality of awakened doing arises: enthusiasm. The word enthusiasm comes from ancient Greek - en and theos, meaning God. And the related word enthousiazein means "to be possessed by a god." With enthusiasm you will find that you don't have to do it all by yourself. Sustained enthusiasm brings into existence a wave of creative energy, and all you have to do then is "ride the wave." Enthusiasm and the ego cannot coexist. One implies the absence of the other. Enthusiasm knows where it is going, but at the same time, it is deeply at one with the present moment, the source of its aliveness, its joy, and its power. Enthusiasm wants nothing because it lacks nothing. Make sure your vision or goal is not an inflated image of yourself and therefore a concealed form of ego, such as wanting to become a movie star, a famous writer, or a wealthy entrepreneur. Also make sure your goal is not focused on having this or that, such as a mansion by the sea, your own company, or ten million dollars in the bank. Instead, make sure your goals are dynamic, that is to say, point toward an activity that you are engaged in and through which you are connected to other human beings as well as to the whole. Instead of seeing yourself as a famous actor and writer and so on, see yourself inspiring countless people with your work and enriching their lives. Feel how that activity enriches or deepens not only your life but that of countless others. Feel yourself being an opening through which energy flows from the unmanifested Source of all life through you for the benefit of all. Got a bit off tangent there lol. Well I sure did benefit from this as I typed it.

@Elton Thank you for sharing. Try this next time you get a craving. Close your eyes, sit with it, and observe it objectively. Just keep in mind that you will not die, and that the sensations of craving will pass. Start implementing meditation of 20min everyday into your life. This is a big one as you will start to take your attention inwards. Set a timer and start.

@Coco Now that you have started the awakening process, you have now taken the responsibility to bring consciousness on Earth. This may be quite a big responsibility and yes you may feel alone even when you are surrounded by familiar friends and family. Remember there are millions of others just like you out on similar paths. It may be difficult to find others around your area as the next stage of human psychological evolution has barely just begun. You are one of the few and the chosen. You are a light warrior born with a duty to heal and change the world for the better. Step up to it and own it. Some day, when you will be lying on your death bed, you will not regret a thing as you know that you have listened to your heart and that you did the best you could to bring heaven onto Earth. Visualizations helps greatly, just be aware of ego being attached:

I do not. Easier to distinct from my awareness to thoughts, and stronger concentration in deep deep meditation when things gets real quiet. -

@John I'd highly suggest practicing meditation for 20-30mins everyday. Persistent meditation and strengthening one's awareness, this will be able to observe one's thoughts from a place of awareness (awesome place) and not automatically react to them. This takes practice but something VERY worthwhile.

@rush I start with meditation as it helps cool the engine down a bit. Start there and from there on out start being mindful of how much and what stuff you are "doing" to just keep yourself occupied or busy. Walk to the bathroom slower, eat slower, wash dishes slower, take out the trash slower, brush my teeth slower. Matter of fact, just do everything with more mindfulness, consciousness, and from a place of Being. Slow, mindful, and present with whatever that you're doing; this will help weed out some of the unnecessary entertainments. In my case, there were a lot of BS fillers and entertainments that I've slowly and almost fully eliminated, resulting in increased happiness and peace of mind. This made sense as I used fillers as distractions just so that I did not have to look inside and see what was really going on.

@MarkusR Well, it makes your life a hell of a lot more enjoyable and more conscious. I believe working to better ourselves as human beings is part of a psychological evolution, just look at how we live now compared to 2000 years ago! It takes patience, persistence, and strong awareness to really feel the more deeper aspects of self actualization, i.e enlightenment work. An average person cannot jump straight to the top of the mountain. Small steps at a time. The more you begin to realize how these informations are subtlety affecting your life, you become more flexible and quite impressed about this. Leo's work is derived from hundreds and hundreds of different people he has studied upon that he has felt that were most "practical" and straight to the point with massive gains of personal transformation. He does pick and choose, however, it doesn't mean you can't pick and choose whatever you want to spend time on. It has all comes from his personal experience and he has noticed that it worked, and just willing to share. It will probably work for you too if you have an open mind. Leo's content has some cookie cutter videos towards the beginning of his journey, however, as one gets higher towards the Self-Actualization pyramid by Maslow, Leo's content then becomes quite interesting and worth while. Of course, after you watch a self help video and turn your computer off, it's you that makes all the choices from there on out. You can choose whether to implement these ideas or not. Remember, the reason why Leo does what he does is because he wants a positive impact on the world, and that this is all for your better on your own journey. Once you get deeper into consciousness work you will come to the realization that there is no "you" and was never a "you" in making any choices in "your" life. Real freedom comes from this place my friend.

@jes It better to understand completely 5 books, than understanding very little of 50 books.

@Leo Gura What has helped me was going to large events/festivals/gatherings such as Burning Man, Symbiosis Gathering, Lightning in the Bottle, Tribal Gathering, etc. (all of which bring in different types of new-agers and hippies). I got into the whole "scene" because of the similar taste in music (psychedelic, down-tempo, trance,...) and transitioned quite easily and made amazing friends that are "sort of" on the path to self actualization. At first, I was pretty annoyed with the nonstop saging, alters, crystals, incense, slow talking, but I slowly became comfortable with it. A bit of mushrooms wouldn't hurt either, especially if that rational mind is still strong from the Blue stage. You'd be surprised of the different types/groups of hippies, they aren't all alike. If you need some hippie friends, let me know haha! As far as meditation/enlightenment work, this is not the place for me also. Most do too much drugs, and not much self awareness. Finding what you have in common and exploring that with each other is a great way. Dancing with music at underground parties in the middle of the desert is mine.- 21 replies

@Leo Gura Hey Leo! I just watched your video on Spiral Dynamics. You said you've been trying to hang out with hippies more so that you can grab a greater sense of views and perspectives on the green side. Question, What key insights have you gained from being around people in the Green stage? What was it at first that you noticed about yourself when you are around these people, and how has that changed now?- 21 replies

JustinS replied to IVONNE's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@IVONNE Yeah! Try this: Get some good headphones, close your eyes, listen to music like this (other great artists are enigma, merkaba,) and shape your reality. Draw things, shape and mold things. Dance into the unknown even if it feels awkward, push it through and add that layer above yours. The important key is to REALLY feel it and know that you are it, whatever that you have imagined. -

I recommend you this video. Hope this helps -
Observe the attitude and the way you talk to an attractive women vs an unattractive women. What's the difference in your agenda there?

I've been feeling intense head rushes and sensations mainly on the head when meditating (hits around 15mins) for the past 2 years. These feelings result in teary eyes possibly due to deep relaxation. Does this happen to anyone else? I've been way too attached to these feelings.

Ayahuasca was not easy for me. A constant pushing and pulling of the ego was extremely painful. Having to psychologically die and remove the ego than was I able to see beyond it. After the major dissolution of the ego, death was just a fly on my shoulder, and something that is never to be feared, not even an ounce. I got to explore a place of eternal presence for which I was everything. It seemed like I became the space between the Earth and the Moon, and I locked in for there on out. It is all right here, right under our finger tips.
