@OBEler Maybe different for different people at different time? Perfect, situational individuality until infinity -

Yes I can resonate with the ex-gf experience haha When you say "doing the work" and "dream addicts" - given your work, this forum, etc. I assume you think that people should explore reality instead of living the illusion. If yes, why do you think so? -
theleelajoker replied to r0ckyreed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
In the video she mentioned that some people (characters, other parts of self) want to live the illusion instead of searching deeper. I can resonate in some way with this. To give some context: There are two people that were close to me and got curious about me doing vipassana retreats. So curious, that they went on one ten day retreat themselves. They liked it - but never went again. Also, the more time passed, there was decreasing interest in to share experiences, to go deeper into exploration of reality etc. Others are interested in taking psychedelics, sometimes with me. But they neither are interested in discussing their experiences beyond "nice colors", nor do they want to go deep enough to go really deep (one guy literally said "I want do what you did - but take less so I don't experience what you experiences" (my experience was deep insight into our being) Many years, I shared some experiences with a friend. He was super open, respectful, but plainly said: Yeah, cool what you do, but I don't want to know myself. In one other case, sme was really interested in taking psychedelics, did it and had a great experience. But now the person seems to experience confusion and difficult to integrate. From the outside it looks like the person is in a inner fight to continue the path or to stay "not knowing" Of course, it's like the girl in the video said - everybody can do whatever they please to do. So I am simply curious... My questions: Anyone having similar experiences as mine described above? Do you think there is sth like a general spectrum re truth & exploring reality? On the one end, people can't help themselves exploring, appreciating truth, asking "how and why" and on the other hand, people just want to live the illusion not knowing as much as possible? You think we are here to just live the illusion, to explore our being, both, or none of it? -

Just finished it. Really liked it. She felt very authentic to me and that is rare in my experience with YT content producers -

No kidding, today is the calculated date for my nephew's birth (he's not there yet). Guess his name...yeah, it's Leo. -

Funny thing I noticed when I saw her writing on the whiteboard: Between "alone" and "allone" there is only one "l" And now someone could say that this "L" that makes the difference stands for "Love" . Alternatively, it stands for "Loathsome" hehe -
Please reply as simple as possible. Clear statement, concrete example if possible You cannot know for sure so we talk about believe, not facts The way AI learns is similar to how the mind works What reasons make you believe you are not an AI? If you believe you are an AI in a simulated environment - what reasons make you believe so?

Yes, and maybe we are already the facsimile of the "humans one level above". And so on and so on to infinity... Has anyone ever watched "Le Deuxieme Acte"? One of my favorite movies and 100% fitting the context. -

It just came to me - the guy I was talking about is Bernardo Kastrup. You talk about the AI we created in ~ 70 years and that this is not yet good enough. I agree. What I rather talk about is that how the mind works and how our current AI works has similar principles. How algorithms are trained by data and learning techniques to learn r.g. idioms, logic, reasoning, associations etc. Only humans do it with much more complexity (for now). More specific: Learning through reinforcement for algorithms with reward / punishment. Human: pleasure vs. pain, acceptance and peacefulness vs. bad conscience etc. Supervised learning with "actions / conclusion is right/wrong. For humans, culture, society, parents etc are the corrective element for our human "software".E.g. a time ago, I saw a kid ask a man "why do u have such a big nose" and the mother instantaneously said "no! you don't ask that" Unsupervised learning: We humans do the same - making our own conclusions, take assumptions based on our experiences and our own data set. It may even applies to human emotions (theory of constructed emotions). And OFTEN horribly wrong, same as KI creates hallucinations. Anil Seth, Paul Watzlawik, Lisa Barret Feldman are great sources for everyone that wants to dig deeper into these things on the human side Yes, exactly! So why do some people think "oh I am God" or "I am consciousness" or "I am simply a self-learning algorithm" etc etc.? I agree we can never know - so for me it's simply a questions of believe. Everybody has different background, different life, different experiences so believes are gonna be different. That's what I am curios about -

Thanks. Reminds me of something I heard before. Don't remember the name, sme once posted a video of him in this forum. He talked about our reality like a cockpit, we see the simulated reality but never the thing behind the 3-D cockpit. Maybe sme reads this and knows who I am talking about. The thing with self reflection I associate with synchronicity - sometimes it's crazy how clean and how fast the reflection is. And especially lately I have the impression that the same rule applies for KI-prompts and for my personal life: The higher the clarity of my input (= my interactions with others, less my thoughts although they play a role), the cleaner my reflection (whatever happens to me outside my direct influence). But it's not a formula I could apply in any way, I have no control. It just happens. What I am missing: You being the little thing in your mind you feel when you scream in your head. Don't get that. -

I am curious about your view, but I have difficulties following. Can you please paraphrase, elaborate, or give examples? -

@OBEler Let's take a cellphone and a chat app. You type in sth in the text box - and the program notices that sth has been entered in the text box and does follow up action such as auto suggest. With exception of higher complexity: Where do you make the difference between you noticing (being conscious) of objects (apearences) and the example above? Basically it's just one more level: I notice that I notice. Or am I missing sth? -

•What will you miss the most? People •who do you love and care about? My GF, family, friends •who would you call? Same as above •what will you do before you die? Smoke weed and have sex •do you have any regrets? No, I did the best I could • are you ready? No -

Thx for those who gave serious feedback. Quite interesting for me to see what comes out of this thread so far -
Number and bold writing indicate the statements, bullets clarify. Here we go: 1. All humans problems are either "survival problems" or "acceptance problems" Survival problem: I am starving, I have a deadly illness, I lost my arm and bleed to death right now, I am in danger of falling from a tall building, etc. In general, humans have a natural desire to survive. Focus on physical side Acceptance problem: My partner left me, my dog died, I lost my job, I did not get a promotion, my back is so bad I can't play sports anymore etc. Focus on mental side 2. Every "acceptance problem" disappears the as soon as we stop resisting reality, fully accept and fully experience what is The problem is not related to the direct experience of reality with our senses Our problem is not endangering our physical survival It's simply that we believe that the world should be different than it is More acceptance, less resistance --> we are willing to directly experience whatever is right now - > if I am willing to experience / feel what is right now, there is not a problem anymore because I don't want anything different than what I am experiencing right now Example: The mental pain of my partner leaving - it disappears (at least over time) by simply accepting Example 2: OK I am depressed, I feel shitty. What happens if I am OK with that mood? Not a problem anymore, it's just an experience Example 2: I am bleeding to death - OK, I accept this but it does not go away by simply accepting. I am still dying. 3. All mental healing techniques, (therapy, coaching, meditation) ultimately serve one purpose: To decrease your resistance, to increase your openness and to increase your level of acceptance of the reality as it is Follows from 2. 4. The methods for 3. are dependent on context, individual and cannot be generalized. What works for you might not work for me What works today might not work tomorrow and maybe works again in two days Every person, every situation, every mental structure, every energetic structure has individual characteristics. Solutions must be individual, too Everything changes, so our concepts and methods change, too 5. Intellectual understanding can help but has a clear limit If you ask "why" long enough you end up at the origin of the universe..and whatever was before that, and before that Example: I eat too much when I am stressed. Why? Because I distract myself because I don't want to accept and experience what is. Why? Because I did not learn the techniques and methods to deal with difficult emotions, self-care, acceptance etc. Why? No one told me how. Why? School did not teach me and my parents were bad role models. Why? Because my parents and other people of their era never learned it, too. Why? Because school did not teach them and my grandparents were bad role models. Why? Because school did not teach them and my grand-grand parents... (...) Causal and intellectual understanding is always partial understanding. Reality is complex, our mind is limited, human information is limited 6. All "survival problems" eventually can be turned into "acceptance problems" You don't fight to stay alive anymore. You accept or even welcome death Physical pain most likely remains, mental resistance of dying disappears Example: I accept that I bleed to death right now. If dying is OK for me, it's not a "problem" anymore. It's simply happening This point is quite abstract and almost purely theoretical. Survival instinct and ability to feel pain is generally very strong in humans Open for discussion. I am especially curios re feedback re Nr 3. Note: Statements are not "my" insights. Collection of a vast range or sources such as books, movies, conversations, this forum, etc.

Yes, but why build the reactor in the first place? Either you NEED power to survive. Or because you WANT to, because you want your life to be different than it is now. -
theleelajoker replied to Ninja_pig's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ninja_pig 1) Thanks for the clarifications, it's appreciated. I was a bit hard in my first response sry for that 2) One thing I do my best to keep in mind re these topics is We never observe the "real" world. We observe is whatever we can decode from a human lens. Alan Watts once said sth like "Astronomy is NOT the scientific investigation of stars, planets etc. It's the scientific investigation of the human experience of what we call stars". The same applies to physics IMO. I don't trust anyone that claims to know how things work. First, live is incredibly complex. Second, the (human) information that we use to explain things is incredibly limited. Third, there is no purely external reality we are always part of the system and thus influencing what we experience Science looks for final conclusions, definitive statements and it has done a GREAT jobs in countless fields. We have enough definitive knowledge to be able to fly to the moon, build nuclear power etc etc. But the whole issues around relativity theory and quantum mechanics indicate to me that some things can simply not be put into a "final answer". Looks close enough, and long enough, and there are always more questions than answers. The world to me is simply a paradox . But is only a paradox because we want that final, definitive answer how things are. -
theleelajoker replied to Ninja_pig's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Maybe you have a good intention - but putting out statements and then say that they are wrong without correcting them why they are wrong is completely pointless. You say take some videos and books. Which ones? Why this one? Why not others? Why you believe book or video a) more than video b)? There are many interpretations of quantum theory (e.g. Copenhagen interpretation) , there are experts who dedicated their life to the research of it and they disagree. And now you are here and say "it's like this and that"...without given reasons. POINTLESS exercise IMO. My take: If you really understand why they are wrong, then you could out it into simple explanations why it is so. If you can't do that, you did not get it yourself. Or you say it's soooo complex, you can't put it in easy way - then probably because you reasoning why these statements are wrong is faulty in the first place. Then just say "nobody can really say if right or wrong", there are ideas, there are interpretations, there are disagreements, here is my take and this is my chain of thoughts / experience / logic / my credentials in saying so etc etc. -
theleelajoker replied to Loveeee's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@IshangaHm, not sure about it. Got to see (experience) it to believe it, but I think it will be close to impossible to settle that point. Maybe it is as you say, maybe not. However, my question is pointing to another direction. God, do YOU have a choice to exist? Meaning, are you in a ever-evolving flow of reality and experience, or can you stop? If you "stop", what's then? So an analogy can be if "God" can decide to "sleep" forever? Follow-Up would be if he can decide to wake up and other follow up would be if he can choose to what reality he wakes up...but OK, the OP said ONE question : ) -
