The belief in Free Will is actually what really matters because if you believe in free will then you're more likely to take responsibility for your actions you're less likely to engage in the kind of antisocial behaviors that are so destructive of society and of yourself so maybe Free Will is a myth but it's a good myth to have

if someone were to tell me that that they don't have free will and they're not responsible for them their actions I would be very careful around them

    Thoughts on this?

Personally I feel disgusted by how he cares less about the truth and more about feeding people the story that is more beneficial, even if that is for the general good. (Although at least he is openly stating that's how he thinks so it could be worse.)

Also it makes me come to this advice: "Don't tell people that you don't believe in Free Will because they will trust you less."

  2. Maybe keep doing the same but with more benign versions.

For example for alcohol, you can reduce the hangovers by having only specific drinks that produce less of it, like vodka, tequila or gin. And take them with plenty of water and a NAC supplement. (I heard this from John Anthony, tried myself and it works). Also have a bit less drinks.

For stimulants, maybe stick to just caffeine with the drinks.

  3. Like Pav said many things can be done to improve looks, even if potential is limited by genetics. Low body fat, more muscle, contacts instead of glasses, good haircut and style, preserve your hair with finasteride if possible, use suncreen to slow skin aging, moisturizer for better skin when going out, elevator shoes or boots...

And its not just about looks, social skills matter equally if you are over some looks threshold. And the numbers game.

Still, I am not gonna do forced positivity. Getting laid is often way too much effort if you don't have it easy from the start, from natural good looks and social skills. So sticking to masturbation and acceptance is a good option too for less headaches.

  4. get one of these and a couple of friendsouija-main.jpg

no but seriously, since you want a human (not awake) answer:
hopefully they are in heaven, which means you won't be able to make contact.
The ones that theoretically you could contact from here, are souls trapped in purgatory, or demons making themselves appear as your dead loved one. (At least according to people into paranormal stuff.)

can't say this about my grandma with dementia

And on a more general case, many people are poor, and don't have the time or the tech to be reading a forum like this.

And even for those with the resources and the potential. They can't choose what to do. They will automatically do whatever they think is best, given their programming from genetics and what they have experienced. They might be poisoned by some ideology, low self-esteem...

These are so many of these...

You are a Frankenstein created by Leo Gura.

xD lol. nah but he doesn't really preach this and I was into this stuff before I saw his content

You literally have all Leo's videos for free and books/resources available on the internet.
Search for mentors about business, gym, pickup and money.
Leo's life purpose course is another powerful resource to find your way in life.
You just need to become more focused, knowing what to do and make progress one piece at a time.
If you are here on the forum and loves self-development, there's HOPE for you brother!

thanks, yeah I think there is hope. But Ive consumed a ton of that content, done all the exercises like listing values and goals... stuff like what its in that video is very familiar. Idk, I'm satisfied in general. I think only a bad event at home, or the ever-growing boredom will get me out of this.

Yes, but then you revive and the problems are still there. Experiences with psychedelics are helpful, they show you where you should go, and they could open the reality for a moment, show you the truth, but the truth in now. Remembers are just ego at the end. So then you have to equalize yourself, you have to purify yourself in order to live open to the truth full time. there are no shortcuts, only help on a path that must be fully covered

true definitely the problems are still there. I think spirituality is one of the best drugs though. Makes the bad stuff less real. Like being an alcoholic, drunk all day, but without the health problems.
IMO coping strategies like these are the way to go, as humans. Achievement doesn't fix anything, because we are still rotting, and going down towards old-age. I like achievement as a way to minimize boredom though.

  7. I'm a spiritual bypasser. Early 30s, I just live with parents. I've had a job, I've been with girls. But now I'm comfy at home doing nothing. No money to do anything fun, and girls don't just come to me. Already a few years like this. (I'm privileged to be able to live like this for now)

I'd rather be motivated, but how can one fix this? Self-help doesn't always work.

at least solve your own problems before saying you reached the highest truths.

how? I can't do what I don't want to do. (already tried all the self-help, maybe not the right way, but I don't think this is the issue)
I don't think achieving materialistic goals is a net positive. The effort, the boredom and the failures negatively outweighs the final reward IMO. When you can be satisfied now, there is no point in doing that.

many think that it is the easy way to solve their trauma and their suffering, but it does not work like that

I kinda disagree. Dying solves all our problems. And awakening is a bit like dying.

  8. @Holykael I agree. We are bio-robots

And to the people who disagree(about the Free Will issue), I don't see awakening/god-realization fixes this.

Decisions come automatically to us. "You can do what you want, but you can't decide what it is that you want" (This wouldn't apply to God, but really, we live as humans, even after realizing we are God)

  9. @davecraw
I wouldn't say "Only the experience exists" is exactly the conclusion. It's more something like "Only experience remains".

We are trying to find what is true. So for example the link you mentioned about brains and vision, or what other people say about their experience. How do you know these things are true? They could be lying, you could be misunderstanding it, you could be dreaming it... you are trusting yourself and those sources a lot. You are assuming a lot too, for example that you know the meaning of all the words in the explanation of how a brain works. And when you look up the definition of those words, you would have to check all the words that compose those definitions too. Everything you assume you have to question.

We have to be 100% skeptical of everything if we want to find what is true. Try being 100% skeptical and see what remains. You can be skeptical of experience too, and still, take a look at what remains.

  10. it doesn't make a ton of sense posting this because I'm talking to myself but I guess it's fun.

Some context: for a long time I thought some of the enlightenment concepts from Leo where BS. Specially Love, but also others like God and related ones like Infinite Will. But recently I watched from Leo this one about coping with Nihilism, and how to fix the nihilistic/existential depression (clip), and it worked, so I recovered some of the lost faith. Basically my enlightenment had been stuck for years since I read Jed Mckenna. Those books gave me the main breakthrough although I was also meditating and took shrooms and LSD a couple of times.

To me, reality was already all a dream/illusion, but just that, so really a purposeless nihilistic "grey" dream. I understood Solipsism as a consequence. I could see reality being generated in real time. And in the best moments I could also see the negativity as just another Illusion. Btw I also had realized No-Self from some visualization exercises for de-identifying from the body. Cool, but bland compared to now.

So the God realization moment: I was watching some content from Leo, and reflecting on other videos at the same time and it just came to me. Obviously I can't fully put it into words but I'll try to explain it as a logical sequence:
I understand there is only this field that I am experiencing -> I am it(there is nothing else) -> I am alone + Reality is clearly not random (everything is so perfectly defined, every detail) -> Someone has to be directing this movie -> That someone can only be me.
This reasoning sequence has turned into a persistent awareness that I am and always have been creating reality. After that, I think I could be beginning to understand Love, because I have always loved what I have created or worked on, in the more mundane level of reality. And now as God, I love the world I am generating.

    Bonus mood song:

  11. it's supposed to be difficult

One could give many reasons for this but I'll go with this one: individual humans are just tools used by our genes to replicate themselves, it doesn't matter to nature if we are happy or not.

We really should stop reproducing, it's unethical specially in non rich countries and families.

  12. just curious do you have kids already?

Just to give another perspective... I'm 30, also an underachiever. No money, I'm lazy, living with parents, etc.
I used to be stressed about all of this.
Now I'm not. I don't see life as a precious opportunity anymore. I see it more like a curse because I'm forced to fill it with stuff. But amassing experiences and possessions in our corner of this rock seems meaningless to me. Instead of that, being chill and having low expectations feels good, which seems meaningful. Idk, just another perspective.

  13. Envy is a normal instinct, we are programmed to not like when similar people get good stuff and we don't, because then there is probably less available good stuff for us. You can't really stop it.

And their success vs your success, like everything else, is 100% luck (even if you could overcome circunstances, there is no free will anyway) so you can't do anything about it.

It is what it is, so your venting is justified

  14. I think some of the devices actually work
There is one that you wear and it keeps it stretched for hours, just with a little bit of tension, to make it longer.
Another one is a water pump that makes some sort of vacuum, to make it thicker

I think it makes sense that these work. Just like people stretch their earlobes, other cartilages or whatever that tissue is called, it probably can be stretched too.

  15. @Mormegil That's not bad advice but this is not what I meant.

What I meant is, I wish I could be happy actually scamming people. Or directly stealing. Or more on the grey area, selling overpriced stuff through manipulation, marketing, etc.

If you are able to do these things happily with no remorse, it's easier to get what you want.
