You gotta go straight at the very foundation of the ego otherwise your just pussy footing around.

What's stopping you from having a direct experience of ego death right now? If you feel your self-enquiry is seriously fucking with your ego your doing it right.

@Shaun That's quite an aggressive plan you have the my man. Your plan is to extinguish the ego in one go at it. Do you already have some experience with these substances? Just asking out of concern.

@Jkris I'll just say this, most ppl associate themselves to the content which arises in consciousness (good or bad) while ignoring consciousness itself which is empty of all content. Do not get involed with all that arises in consciousness.

@Aquarius You used the right word when you said "state". It's a state like any other. All states come and go no matter if the are pleasurable or not. Find that which does not come and go.

I remember quite well those moments of clarity and connectedness as a child. That is the driving force behind this journey now. To re-discover that part of me that got lost along the way.

@The Don Do you ever get a gut feeling that some aspect of you has always been here? We're not only this world of "things" that are percieved through a physical body for a short period of time but we are also the space between all things. Just gaze around the room your sitting in now. Allow awareness to expand so that it becomes all encompassing.. If you contemplate that you may get a taste of your infinite presents beyond matter. So no worries. Put your right arm out to the side. It's right there. And there. And there. And over there too. That's you! It's always been you.

@Serotoninluv There are a couple things that just seem to work very naturally. One is laying out under a starry sky for hours. Another is sitting in silence in the woods. Some amazing shifts in consciousness can happened. In both cases everything becomes God. A merging into oneness.

@tedens That varies from person to person depending on how many illusory partitions have been created between the self and existence.

Besides for looking "forward" to contemplate what death may be like why not contemplate how you came to be in the first place by going back the way you came to be. Have you ever contemplated what you were before the announcement of your birth?

@Shin Actually I'm totally serious. My first real experience of all this spiritual work was detachment from a physical location. Freaked me out. Now I welcome it.

I generally like to hang out in close proximity to the body location. Especially when there are guests visiting. I jest but then again I don't.
