What no one seems to want to admit to is that the forum went downhill not just because of some kind of issue with the structuring of communication but also the leadership quality....... You should do everything you can to fix yourself..........

Are you suggesting.. what I think you're suggesting?

the internal dynamics of such a cell (e.g. high social cohesion and information flow) makes that more likely to happen.

You're basically just arguing for my discord at this point.  Yes, you're right, a superior platform does result in tighter communities where everyone can feel more connected, happy, and at ease.  And sure, all that can turn into a cult, if unmoderated, but you're turning into Dick Hancock at that point.  Do you still go by Richard these days?

It's a shame you view it like that. I view it as authentic expression and willingness to learn.

Hey! I thought you said we're not allowed to use AI-generated responses on here anymore!

    Quick and snarky replies

Is that what you call having good arguments?

This isn’t something that I have been personally involved with, though I noticed discussion of it whilst posting in “The Journal.” I think it was started by @thisintegrated and later joined by @AtheisticNonduality as well as probably some other people. I don’t know so much about the former user but neither of them strike me as people who would want to sabotage this forum or steal your followers. My impression is that they just wanted a space to discuss their views in a more private and efficient way. The open forum encourages a lot of lame posturing and grand-standing, making big statements about things rather than just having a friendly discussion. It’s also much slower than other messaging services.

Half the members on the discord aren't even from the forum.  I'm literally introducing new people to Actualized, and all Leo's uploads automatically show up on the discord.  Idk why Leo's so mad, he should be thanking me if anything.

(Before anyone thinks I'm advertising, all invites are revoked.  Noone on this forum can get inside, even if they try.)

In other words, even if it might have been against the rules, I don’t think they were using Discord to sow discord! Obviously what I think is more or less irrelevant here but I don’t think it should be necessary to ban them.

He already gave me warning points.

The more time I spent in "The Journal", the precursor to the Discord, the more I felt that the forum was going downhill. I don't think that was about the people I was talking to as much as the tendency towards a shorter format and more casual topics.

I'm surprised.  We basically stopped debating pointlessly once everyone started using The Journal.  It was, overall, a very positive place.  It went downhill only once it started getting attacked on a daily basis.  It was fun while it was just me and the regulars/mods.

The most enjoyable thing about this forum for me is spending a long time formulating my thoughts as best as I can. If I want to be social, I go talk to actual people.

You mean the mental masturbation & endless debate (which is against the rules btw) that's one of the biggest problems on the forum?

As Oeehoo pointed out, the slowness of the forum encourages leaving statements, rather than actually discussing anything.  I, personally, see this as a major downside to the forum format.  Moreover, Leo ignored my countless suggestions for removing the post-rate-limit for non-mods. We must wait 3 whole minutes, sometimes longer, to post again after posting.  I mean, doesn't Leo wanna be at least on par with AoB?

Oh, ask it to speak about some topic (like climate change) from a Spiral Dynamics stage Green vs Yellow perspective. That should break it.

It sucks, though. Seems very limited, repetitive, and has obvious patterns. Just what you'd expect from a robot, or a hippy ;)

It's similar to Akinator but a lot more complex.

Not so limited.  I spent a couple days responding to every thread with AI.  Not one person caught on.  People even responded to my AI answers with follow up questions and whole paragraphs, despite me not even knowing what I said to them.

I had a whole conversation with Integral about his game, and he was convinced by the AI responses.
