A lot of Americans are just straight ignorant bro. They watch Fox News and see “oh no brown and black people ruining our country, we need to stop this!” That’s what it essentially comes down to.

I think in the same way western cultures revolutionized material science in the enlightenment era, ancient India revolutionized the spiritual sciences, or the science of the consciousness (but not discrediting the ancient Greeks/romans and Egyptians)

Awakening does not eliminate cultural programming and bias.
Hinduism is more programmed for the spiritual way of life
American culture is wayyyy too materialistic to put out enlightenment beings on the same level the east does.

It’s actually crazy that some random enlightened being who 5 years ago was just another “godman” to now one of the most influential people on the globe! Either two things that’s really going on: 1). This guy is the greatest conman alive and is now selling books and making money through a spiritual fantasy, or 2). This guy is the messiah that Christians talk about who is going to save us from hell. Truly fascinating.

I think he didn’t mean that. He just meant not burning cars and waiving Mexican and Palestinian flags, it gives the right more power.

Sad thing is he comes from a Jewish family with holocaust survivors in his family. Many white nationalists would deny the holocaust and blame the core of global issues on the Jews.

One moment they are seeking asylum, and now everything gets torn apart that Trump is back.
I agree it’s not reasonable to let everyone in but these people’s lives are being turned upside because of these bipolar political dynamics.
Yeah, it’s one thing if it’s completely to eliminate illegal immigration….its another to deny asylum for afghan and Syrian refugees who had helped the war effort while at the same time allow white South African “refugees” from a debunked “white genocide”. It’s very clearly racial, and there has to be a limit to all of this. Look I understand the concern of large portions of migrants being military aged men, and I fully understand the concern and worry of the average middle American. But to demonize people who helped our soldiers abroad in the war effort, and then completely deny their asylum status is disingenuous. @Leo Gura you gotta admit that even from a stage orange point of view, there are racial tones to this immigration policy. If we are concerned about illegals, why are we only targeting black and brown migrants, but not white migrants (whom there are many). To me it seems a little fishy….

Burning Waymo cars for illegal immigrants is not that. This is leftists behaving like lunatics.
I think what we are going through right now is a cold civil war, war of ideas, influence and digital exposure. Just how the republican media machine makes use of its optics, the democratic media machine has to do the same. This includes the protests as well. Not the best optics if you are burning the streets, throwing up gang signs and raising the Mexican flag. We need to boost social capital on our side, and show the average joe that we are all Americans fighting for our rights to live peacefully and not in fear of trump’s selfish motives.

You live at Trump's mercy. That's what it means to lose an election.
Damn, I guess best thing is to put our heads down, focus on our life purpose without getting swayed by social media activism, and vote the right people for our best interests.

Off of the point of due process, isn’t the whole point not to arrest someone without knowing they whether or not they are in the country legally? How can we determine if someone is here illegally, and not hear on asylum in the process of gaining citizenship, the legal way…..without due process?

It’s shit like this that helps feed the far right. Yeah we can argue that the rise of radical Islamist terrorism is directly related neo liberal policies in the Middle East, but Muslim activists should immediately tell the world that they CONDEMN this attack. If the first thing that comes out of their mouth is “free Palestine”, you basically gave a golden ticket to racist, far right parties in the west that capitalize on the fears that citizens may have. This is the time to fight Islamophobia with compassion and sympathy for the victims, not radical activism. Btw not anti free Palestine, just someone who looks at the world practically and yearn to find practical solutions for the now.

I’m not that old but he was easily my favourite pope in my lifetime. His commitment to refugees, peace, the environment and criticising excessive greed were always inspirational to follow. It’ll be interesting to see who comes next.
Rest in Peace, Bergoglio 🙏 😢

They are just grabbing people with little to no research, no trial, and deporting them to a foreign country to be imprisoned for life, probably (or die much sooner). And its not even doing it to people who migrated from Salvador. I've just read a news story about a guy from VENEZUELA who was waiting for the court to clear his asylum claim, but was sent to El Salvador, without any trial:
How does this make any sense? Imagine committing no crime and then being sent to a prison in a foreign country that you have nothing to do with, for life, basically. This is so messed up.
This is just a complete disregard for the rule of law and any idea of human rights. This is something that some 3rd world African country would do. How is it possible that the US just plunged to that kind of level of development just because of the change in president? Shouldn't there be more checks and balances to prevent this kind of stuff no matter how retarded the president is?
To be fair, the USA has a long history of pretty shady practices. Look up the bracero program. As part of it, legal Mexican Americans were deported to Mexico, on the basis of being Mexican.

Lmao, I’ll be fine. Most of us chill guys (and gals) will stay at home and smoke up, and see the world burn. Civilizations rise and fall. That is the history of humanity. No matter how technologically advanced we get, this pattern will stay the same for as long as humans survive on this planet.

I think china is in the Goldilock zone for development. Huge population, increasing number of individuals getting educated, and actually caring about a national identity. While not directly colonized, china did get affected by the effects of colonialism, leading it to become a poor global south country. It was the need to prove to the world and bounce back to show the west that inspired them to work hard and become a prosperous nation. In fact it’s one of the few former 3rd world countries that completely decolonized. Point is you need a healthy base of blue for a society and nation to grow.

2 hours ago, Hojo said:Cause they are white. The usa super power secretly dictates who is allowed to have them. They say white people over brown cause usa is white. Its about to get more white too.
lol not all Jews are white, but yeah I get the idea. The state of Israel and the top positions are mostly filled by European Jews. This was always the case. When Israel formed with the help of the British empire, they essentially needed a European island in the Middle East to keep on eye on the affairs of the region. Many of the early leaders of Israel were in high positions in European society before that, and many often played a role in colonial missions on behalf of many of these European powers. Giving them power over a land with the harmless intention of wanting a Jewish homeland gave the western powers relief, in that they always have “second eyes” in that region. What I’m saying is that Israel is basically a continuation of a European imperial government, just run by Jewish individuals rather than Christian individuals. Even non European Jews suffered a lot during the early years of Israel nationhood. Discrimination against Arab Jews was commonplace, along with burning of entire villages and forced assimilation. Look I’m not undermining antisemitism and the pain and torture Jews have felt in Europe for centuries, but I also think cultural norms are a thing. The European Jews at the time of the creation of the Israeli state held very Eurocentric, colonial attitudes about the local population at the time.
another note - I am not against a state for the Jewish people. I believe the Jewish people are in the right to trace their roots to this land, as most Jews do have Levantine dna, even if it’s from thousands of years ago. However the model that the state of Israel is following is still a Eurocentric, imperialist model, one to serve western interests in the region.

The amount of Islamophobia that we see after he won the nyc mayoral race is really bad. It’s basically post 9/11 style Islamophobia and racism. The right wing is literally going to a new low, and at this point we have to hope that most Americans vote for what’s best for the country in the coming midterms.
