  1. Aspects of personal development

    - the endeavor itself (the sport tactics, chess strats, how to code)

    - metalearning (how to build the skill)

    =

    How to succeed

    - study a lot

    - do a lot

    - iterate a lot

     - talk to ppl a lot

  2. It's a good question

    How does one actualize theory?

Law of attraction stuff- Affirmations, Mantras, visualizations

    WOOP/ Goal Setting

    Creating a new self-image (psychocybernetics)

    Habits, Habit stacking

    Productivity systems (tiago forte, GTD)

    Ultra Learning projects /1% daily

    Setting morning intentions

    AM / PM Routines

    Journalling

  3. Hitler has a list of positives too

    - made the autobahn

    - promoted physical fitness and sports

    - rocket and jet propulsion research which was used for space exploration

    - made the Volkswagan beetle, a reliable and affordable car for germany

why do u like tate so much? dude has a long list of (very bad) crimes

rapist, made a course on how to scam people, built a business off scamming people, sex trafficed women, child groomer (bragged about fucking 16 y.o's)., promotes regressive gender norms, moved to romania so he could crime without repercussion. list goes on

  4. updating my favorite teachers:

Meta learning: Scott h young,  Justin Sung, (Peter ralston?)

    Productivity; tiago forte, ali abdaal

    Meta personal development: Eben pagan

Emotions: eckhart tolle, david r hawkins + vipassana for emotions. -> add some form of psychotherapy/science based teachings to round

For mental health: dr. K, tara brach + gabor mate

Relationships: Boundaries - nedra glover tawwab
    Business: alex hormozi

Hormozi is decent but not enough. General, more teachers and industry specific is needed
    for happiness:

  5. Well-made courses are extremely powerful

    - solid theory

    - good practices

    - ethical conduct

    - not overwhelming amount, straight to key ideas

    Good mentors are very helpful

    - skilled

    - kind

    - cuts success curve heavily

    books, videos, guides

at the end of the day, it's about quality

  6. Yeah he def tries to heal thru brute force. Some of his therapy sessions on stage are kind of done recklessly. It seems he just recklessly pushes the people to open up

But particularly his info on healing and letting go, and shadow work are very good. I did his TM a few years ago when it came out first and the theory and practices were pretty damn effective with me

He's actually not a bad teacher but some of the shit he does and says  is weird

  7. one aspect of success...

    (bigger insight)

sometimes the hard things are just hard in our mind. like our mind creates more challenging things just psychologically, but its just intimdation. in reality theyre just normal things that anyone can pickup, just apply a good mindset

thinking about success, i love leo's analogy of, 'facets of enlightenment' and depicts it using a diamond

    same way with success....

facets(or aspects) of success... *depicted as a diamond*

    ...

i love the idea of efficiency man bc of the amount of output you can get due to efficiency. you can get more and more output when you get more and more efficiency. like this tetris and productivity are equivalent

  8. super relate man

not in pua but im def facing my own challenges in life

but personally i see it like this... challenge is what breeds growth. and it eventually breeds into beauty. so when you embrace it, it leads to something good

maybe some might say.. challenge is beautiful (because of what comes from it)

    in psych terms... 'u-stress'

  9. I can speak slightly from a tech pov, I'm somewhat in the culture

    America is great for tech

Lots of great cities for it. SF, Austin, NYC, Seattle, LA

I think every big city should have decent tech opportunities

I think if your resume is good, coming out of college is a breeze to land a job in tech

Also btw networking also allows you to land jobs too. (From friends, friends of friends, network or a fraternity) You can skip steps this way thru referrals

So yeah no issues getting job here if ur resume/network is good

  10. Progressives don't even feel woke dude they're just gleaning opinions from society without independent analysis. Dude they're more sheep than they are woke

    Am I the same?

Honestly we probably are all sheep lol

Sort of. We can learn thru experience what's good and bad

  11. I agree OP

Society puts expectations on men to be strong, stoic, confident, successful, provide, and lead to be loved  etc.

Like Society used to put stuff on women rite like stay at home,  don't have sex etc.

Culture defines it rn as toxic masculinity for guys and for girls ppl say it's mysogny

But yeah at the same time, you can def find lots of people who will love who you are outside of these norms. They apply to societal thinking, not to individuals

  12. Chatgpt4:

Confidence can stem from various sources, and people may draw from one or more of these to feel socially confident:

    1. **Self-Efficacy**: Belief in one's ability to accomplish tasks successfully, often built through past experiences.

    2. **Social Skills**: Mastery of basic social interactions and cues, which can make socializing less stressful.

    3. **Physical Appearance**: For some, feeling good about how they look can boost confidence.

    4. **Preparation**: Knowing the subject matter or social context well can instill confidence in interactions.

    5. **Social Support**: A strong network of supportive friends and family can bolster one's confidence.

    6. **Achievements**: Success in various domains (academic, professional, athletic) can boost self-esteem and social confidence.

    7. **Mindset**: Adopting a growth mindset, where challenges are opportunities for growth, can boost confidence.

    8. **Positive Affirmations**: Internal or external affirmations that reinforce one's worth can contribute to social confidence.

    9. **Emotional Regulation**: Being able to manage emotions like anxiety or fear can help in feeling more socially confident.

    10. **Role Models**: Observing and emulating socially confident people can offer a template for how to behave.

    11. **Exposure Therapy**: Gradual exposure to social situations can desensitize people to social anxieties, increasing confidence over time.

    12. **External Validation**: Although not a long-term solution, some people initially build social confidence through validation from others, before internalizing it.

Understanding where your social confidence comes from can help you nurture and strengthen it further.

  13. Yeah TV personna is pretty fake. The first time i met a bunch of influencers and I was really shocked how different their personality was to the their youtube personna.

This goes with more stuff.  'Professional' demeanor where people work. Customer service. Professional demeanor in corporate

And also  'polite' society where people on the street and strangers have a nice personna to others
