  1. I lived in Mexico for 10 years. I liked it. There is more freedom to be yourself than in America. Even the street dogs are tranquilo.
  2. I have found therapists to be useless. They actually have less human relating skills than the average person.
  3. Most of these people facilitating 5-meo don’t know what they are doing. The best you can hope for is that you luck out and have an interesting experience which will eventually fade and not improve your life. But, if anything goes wrong and you are left with a serious problem – your facilitator will look at you with a blank stare. Ask this facilitaor if he even knows CPR.
  4. I agree that the long-term effects of psychedelics should be taken seriously. The reality is that science, which neglected study of psychedelics due to political reasons, knows very little about them and has not done long-term studies. When I was in Peru, I saw the shaman, who was in his 50s, routinely carry two heavy water bottles on his shoulders while walking up a jungle hill. He has consumed a ton of Ayahuasca and has been smoking mapacho since he was a child. Western reductionist thinking lacks context. In what context are you doing it? Is your context harmful or healing? That’s why I always have a strong intention and only do the sacred medicines under ceremony.
  5. I agree with most of what he says. The marketing of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been brilliant, but it is not the ultimate fighting syle. This is just a marketing slogan which has created a money making business. Although, looking at it more realistically, BJJ is a legitimate martial art. Their promotion convinced many men that Karate is a joke, by matching mediocore karate practioners against the Gracies in a ring controlled by them and under their rules. I like this video he did on real Okinawan Karate, similar to what I trained under.
  6. "Awaken your soul" is in Costa Rica and does Iboga retreats. They recently got a facilitator who is a real shaman that grew up in the Bwiti tradition. I attended a zoom call where he was introduced and my impression was that he was both calm and humble. https://www.awakenyoursoul.co/team-members/maviango-nguimbi
  7. The Karate masters of Japan where very careful about preventing injuries. The thing that was valued was control and development of character. Hence, the sparing was always non contact. You had to be able to throw a punch powerful enough to kill at someone’s face and stop it one inch from contact. I trained and got a black belt under a master and 10th degree black belt from Japan. He was not happy about full contact Karate and felt it degraded the art. In America they get hung up on this discussion of which style is the best and if there isn’t full contact it’s not real. America is a shallow materialistic culture and is too immature to comprehend the spiritual aspects of the martial arts. And the reality is that it is real the way they practice in Japan.
  8. It sounds like you are conscious of your motivations and feelings. As long as you maintain awareness, try it and see what happens. Experiment. Then you will self correct. That will give you more real guidance than someone giving advice.
  9. But wouldn't that same reasoning apply to the monuments constructed by the Third Reich?
  10. How many Muslim countries have dropped bombs on European countries? How many Muslim countries have militarily occupied European lands (including the US)? Iran is anti US because Iran was dominated for years by the US backed tyrant the Shah of Iran. If Islam wasn’t so peaceful we would be in real trouble.
  11. I have heard that Muslims are chill in Turkey and friendly to non Muslims. Most of the extremists Muslims are actually a direct response to the legacy of oppression and colonialism. It is really more political than religious.
  12. That lecture by the former Chinese foreign minister was awesome. Unfortunately, he won't be listened to by the crazies that control US foreign policy.
  13. The New York Times had an interesting article which claims that the Arab countries are also cracking down harshly on the pro Palestinian protestors. “For decades, Arab activists have linked the struggle for justice for the Palestinians — a cause that unites Arabs of different political persuasions from Marrakesh to Baghdad — to the struggle for greater rights and freedoms at home. For them, Israel was an avatar of the authoritarian and colonialist forces that had thwarted their own societies’ growth.” “What’s happening to the Palestinian people clarifies the foundation of the problem for Arabs everywhere, that the problem is tyranny,” said Abdurrahman Sultan, a 36-year-old Kuwaiti who has participated in sit-ins in support of the Palestinian cause since the war began.” So the leaders of the Arab countries fear the protestors because they are afraid that the protestors will also demand freedom for their people. This illustrates more of the context and real complexity of this issue. The Jew vs. Muslim narrative is a shallow diversion of the real issue: freedom for all vs. tyrannical rule by a few. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/29/world/middleeast/gaza-arab-protests-crackdown.html?utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=gnews&utm_campaign=CDAQmoPN_OHShf3lARjVoubzwJqW54QBKg8IACoHCAowjuuKAzCWrzw&utm_content=rundown&gaa_at=g&gaa_n=ARTJ-U-LqKaMelytTCiLZMJT4KlPK2Lm3X30Sa384fEzmLTW3RgXPWL3au1TvP6tvZFqG8RuhE6F4gCnyLRPEzOTLZJLFver3Q%3D%3D&gaa_ts=662fbe60&gaa_sig=4gguJ_buqHNT7Dhr2yI7ODUoQkJ0frLbKgmyYgLycMo-Stl0vboCSO354iER3l5wGJyjcrBQVO48gYvbfz3Kpw%3D%3D
  14. Jordan Peterson has a delivery problem. Showing too much anger makes one look weak. And ironically he has the same righteous indignation as the social justice warriors he criticizes.
  15. News goes for sensational stories and always leaves out context and nuance.
  16. The website "Democracy Now" has good coverage of this. These protests were peaceful and they were met with a heavy handed response. What ever happened to freedom of speech? It reminds me of the beginning of the protests during the Vietnam War. The violent response of the state just led to the spread of protests. https://www.democracynow.org/2024/4/23/columbia_university_joseph_slaughter
  17. Now that there is finally going to be a trial, the only thing that matters is the evidence that is ruled admissible by the Romanian court. That is what will decide their fate. Everything else is gossip and useless chatter.
  18. Mearsheimer is being misquoted. He never gave a doomsday narrative. Referring to the global situation with all the conflicts, he said things are going to get worse. I think that is accurate unless the West gets better leadership.
  19. Yes, 20 mg is .02 grams as I said in my previous post.
  20. The threat of nuclear war is real. The notion that the systems controlling the nuclear weapons will always be under control of rational forces and mistakes will never be made is a fiction that helps some people cope. In my opinion, the Western leadership is more at fault. Their instance of maintaining a hegemony is driving China and Russia into forming a separate economic union (i.e, BRICS). We are spending resources on weapons rather than making a world that works. Robert Kennedy is the only American politician that has clearly articulated this and has a plan to change US foreign policy.
  21. As was previously suggested 10-20 mg would be a good test dosage to see how you react. On a high precision scale that would be .02 grams. As a rule of thumb, Bufo has 10% 5-meo. So a 20 mg Bufo dosage would be roughly equivalent to 2 mg synthetic 5-meo. Put it in an oil burner lamp and vaporize it with a torch lighter. Wait until the bulb fills with smoke turning yellowish. Then inhale slowly and hold for 30 seconds. If you sit for someone, you are taking on a lot of responsibility because virtually anything can happen. Do you know how to guide someone who panics or turns violent? Do you know CPR? But at 10-20 mg, it will be very quick and won’t last that long. Stick with a low dose.
  22. Maharishikaa is a spiritual teacher who focuses on surrender as her main spiritual practice.
  23. Not surprisingly, this is a complicated issue. A recent research report recommended reconsidering legalization of EAS. "First, we would argue that wishes for death or suicide, even when clearly articulated by the patient to doctors or next-of-kin, and even if it represents the true will at that very moment, this desire or wish for death will likely change in many of these cases. As we have pointed out above, such an articulated death wish, can be a symptom of the disorder and may in reality convey several other possible messages, that have more to do with the patient feeling abandoned, disappointed or angry. It may also convey a wish for help to live rather than a wish for help to die. Second, we would claim that the notion of personality disorders as “untreatable” conditions and “without prospects of improvement” are based on outdated knowledge about the state of PD treatment. Today, a range of effective psychotherapeutic interventions are available for people with personality disorders in most of the countries that have so far legalized EAS. That this has seemingly escaped the attention of both legislators and expert medical communities is deeply disturbing. It may be that the current lack of effective psychotropic medication to treat personality disorders could have made many physicians and psychiatrists not specializing in PD treatment less optimistic about the prognosis in people with PDs and the prospects of receiving effective treatment in general. We urgently call for a revision of the current legislation and practice of EAS for people with personality disorders which we believe, is currently based on an inadequate understanding of these peoples’ needs and their potentials for having a life worth living." https://bpded.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40479-020-00131-9
  24. She is going to kill herself because her shrink said that her condition will never get any better. What he is really saying is that he can’t do anything to help her get better. But, by that criteria we would all have to die because psychiatrists can’t help anyone get better. They are mostly useless for most conditions. But people are willing to put up with any inconvenience to save a dog. Civilization is going backwards.
  25. It depends on your tolerance. For me 100 mg would be an intense trip. I am currently doing 50 mg. I buy a package of 50 mg. pills. I also don't do it more than 3 weeks apart to not develop tolerance. I don't like sugar so I dont bother with gummies. But if you don't know your tolerance you can start out with 10mg or 20 mg. Take a small dose and wait an hour and a half to see the effect before taking more. Try not to overdose. The "heroic dose" doesn't work with cannabis. It just gives you a bad headache.
