  1. You don't have to get a shitty dead end job. What are your interests? You could do freelance work, start a small business etc, no need to go get a shitty job. But working can also teach you some important life lessons, also, no offence, relying on your parents will backfire in the long run, I get you're young now but be careful in the future, pave your own way in life
  2. What's your existential experience right now? Most importantly, realize this is it and you can NEVER figure this stuff out with your mind! I remember constantly being caught in thought loops!
  3. Long way to go yet bro, I've been there, sounds more like Nihilism than a true awakening, but it probably is a true awakening. Right now you've realized no self, probably the first 'chapter' of awakening. Wait until you open the heart, realize you are everything and then realize that the Self is literally all, it will become much harder to treat yourself like shit, than it is when you think there is an other. There is no OTHER just YOU, so the person you're treating like shit is YOU, also if you need a concept to help you, Karma still exists, so you treat people like shit and you'll face some sort of consequences. Here's some food for thought, Charles Manson was awakened and look at the shit he caused, look at Bentino Massano. Stop thinking you're above others, and realize you are literally them, go deeper into the awakening and open yourself to love and from there compassion comes naturally. Good luck mate, remember You are those people you're treating like shit, and if they've got self respect they'll pull you up on it and won't let you get away with it. It's a common issue with enlightenment that people subtly, or not so subtly, start thinking they're better than others and nothing matters so they rationalize their shitty behavior, bring some awareness to this.
  4. @Lento I like your description of using Skepticism and Beliefs in a way that serves you as an individual, all must be thrown into the blazing fire and surrendered, and whatever remains after is meant to be in our lives @TRUTHWITHCAPITALT I get your points, but not all teachers say the same things and you'll notice subtle differences between them due to their depth and level of awakening and embodiment. A perfect example is Eckhart (btw I love him) and Ramana, the first time reading Ramana gave my ego a huge fright as it is SO much more profound than Eckhart's teachings, hearing things such as 'The World Doesn't Exist', 'All is The Self' after Eckhart was a big realization I was only in the baby pool so to speak. I am not saying it can be monopolised but there is certainly depths to spirituality it is not as black and white as awakened/unawakened. I'm glad you find Leo helpful and a great teacher for you I would just recommend learning from more than 1 teacher, as it's easy to become ideological and think the teacher is perfect etc, it's like only ever using 1 source for an essay, it's bound to be biased!
  5. @mandyjw lol, of course. I guess I can see his frustration, I haven't watched the documentary, was it a hate-hate kind of relationship? And, of course, I imagine for you getting along with Christians will be a big part of your journey. I'm from the UK and religion is nowhere near as big as it seems in the US, none of my family/ friends go to church etc, but none are into Non-Duality either, that's stage orange for you haha.
  6. @mandyjw LOOL the fact they turned it into a Christian Youth Camp is beyond ironic, 'Stage Blue' really do make me laugh, they are so stuck on the conceptual teachings as the absolute reality, that they'll never experience the absolute. What s strange world we live in. Or should I say what a strange Self we live in.
  7. @Eu Sint Sorry for misunderstanding, I just know it's something I really struggled with thinking I now wasn't allowed to think lol. But, yes Silence is always and will be forever the greatest teaching, nothing can match the transmission of presence from a great master such as Ramana. If only he was still alive today, at least his teachings live on, one of the greatest masters of the last 100 years, if not the. Love
  8. @Commodent Thank you, too much of this transcendence BS going on here, no idea why, and it shows the immaturity of a lot of the people here imo. It's fine to fucking feel sad if you feel sad! I honestly don't get what people expect true awakening/ enlightenment is. @zeroISinfinity As I keep saying Leo isn't the only teacher in the world lol, and imo from various people I've spoken to is certainly not at the highest stage of realization, maybe he's had insights from his multitude of trips but it's pretty evident he isn't embodied there. I'm talking from direct experience which everyone seems to love here except when it goes against there agendas. You will still have emotions, you're a human, I don't get what you expect. BEfore you go into some rant on how we are awareness existentially, yes I get that and if you want to go there All there is the Self, there is no other, the Self is literally ALL, the world doesn't even exist as all there is is this Self, when you arrive here you realize an unbreakable silence. I'm really trying to help you, so many teachers preach transcendence of humanity and if I'm honest it's fucking dangerous, you are not a rock, you are a human who will experience an array of emotion. Yes there is a background of permanent peace that never leaves, but there is still emotion, a small example is an artist I listen to passed away suddenly yesterday and I felt an incredible rush of sadness, you know why? Because no longer do I suppress my emotions, instead I fully feel them with all my body, good or bad, as there is no resistance left, emotion is to be felt. I wish you luck if you think awakening is all sunshine and rainbows and you're round the corner from permanent bliss, of course there's states of bliss and love etc, but you can get that from Psyches, a true genuine awakening is learning to feel absolutely everything without resistance and living life FULLY in the now, whatever life throws at us. About destroying the mind, I have done that, the Mind doesn't actually exist, all that exists are thoughts that simply rise in The Self/ Awareness whatever you want to call it, do their thing and pass, no such thing as a mind ever existed, thoughts are always 1 thought at a time no matter how entangled they can become due to the I-Thought. You are not telling me the truth, because not one word can be uttered about the truth, the absolute can not be put into words, hence why all words are merely pointers. The Truth can only be experienced and lived, in reality EVERYONE is the truth, yet very few know it, very few consciously live as The Self. But, please, be careful when thinking enlightenment will lead to you somehow transcending this world, when this very world is the Buddha, the laptop I'm writing this on is the Buddha, EVERYTHING is and This is it, this very moment is it.
  9. @Eu Sint You'll have no mind and do not need thoughts to function, you could go days without thoughts. However, Ramana's situation will be different to yours, remember he lived in a diaper in India, if you have a 'thinking' job or need to plan something you will want to use thoughts as a tool. There is nothing wrong with that, as once the mind and I-thought has dissolved, thoughts are no longer a problem for you and nothing exists except the Self. Thoughts are still The Self, as ALL is the Self as are thoughts. The Self/ Awarenes/ The silence is forever clear of thoughts and always will be, however thoughts will still rise when they are needed. I LOVEE Ramana and his teaching, but context is very important, he lived in the East in a diaper, we live in the West in the modern world, unless you plan on becoming a monk you will find yourself thinking when necessary, but as I said it's so different than before, my thoughts no longer bother me, and like a tool are put down when not needed, the silence is ALWAYS there even when thinking though. It's a great paradox, a fun one too. Have an awesome day
  10. @mandyjw I've read interview transcripts and it's actually scary how you can see he was clearly awakened/ had awakenings. He did a fuck tonne of psyches though. so insights were probably also going to happen. But, also highlights the importance of shadow work, work on a human level and dealing with childhood trauma, mental illnesses& Psyches and that awakening will not solve all of life's problems as many will have you believe.
  11. @TRUTHWITHCAPITALT I agree he gives a great amount of stuff away for free and his book list and LP course are great. But, that doesn't make him a great spiritual teacher, like I said I feel for him as he began teaching very early in his journey which brings many challenges.
  12. @zeroISinfinity Sorry but that's complete BS, and a total fantasy in my eyes, and is part of the issue. I promise I'm not meaning to be rude but this is a HUGEEE trap I constantly see, and one I fell for. You're telling me Self-Realized beings wouldn't get sad/ cry when a family member passes away, or they see injustice in the world? If anything I've noticed the opposite, you feel your emotions 1000x stronger as there's no longer any resistance, at the same time there's also nothing but space/awareness etc at the 'centre' of these thoughts and emotions therefore they are no longer sticky so to speak. Maybe for some Yogi's meditating in a cave 24/7 with no real responsibilities or traditional life you could stay in a bliss state 24/7, but in the real world it's very naive to think that. This sort of thinking promotes transcendence of the human condition rather than embodying and embracing your humanity, which is a KEY part of the work that is usually missed out on. @Haumea2018 used a great term for this 'PsychoSpiritual' learning who you are on a personality level is key, the term 'different strokes for different folks' is a great representation of this. Except without knowing about yourself, you won't learn your personal pitfalls and how to move past them. This is not a one size fits all teaching as many Neo-Advaitans would have you believe. Again, not at all meaning to be rude, but this can really hinder progress.
  13. Enlightened As fuckkkkk. Finished? No, I don't think so. Dealt with his shadow? Again, no I don't think so. Enlightenment doesn't = Perfection. It goes way deeper than that, there's a case for saying Charles Manson being at the early stages of awakening- Interview saying 'I am nothing' etc, yet look what he did? Terrible behaviour is more common in sages in early awakening, what I would say are the 600s,700s, the deeper your awakening goes the less likely to commit poor behaviour, for example you're HIGHLY unlilely to see fully self-realized sages like Ramana or Rupert Spira doing this kind of shit, or having sex with students etc.
  14. @electroBeam I agree with you on the positivity thing, Positive thinking and energy is all great etc But, when it's pushed 'you shouldn't feel bad or sad' etc it's fucking damaging. That leads to repression and suppression of feelings, true awakening is the complete opposite where you feel ALL of your emotions fully and allow all of your thoughts and actually deal with them, not just sweep them under the carpet with a facade of positivity, how can anyone expect to heal if they don't allow themselves to feel.
  15. @mandyjw If you're a Woman, I said I wouldn't buit I HIGHLY recommend Ananda Devi as a teacher she's also a women, at the least check out her book 'Intimacy With The Infinite' which is a spiritual autobiography (similar to Adya's) filled with insights throughout, I'm biased but I think it's awesome. She used to run a Women's group Satsang, not sure if she still does. PM me for a link or just type her name in on Amazon, been told I can't post commercial links.
  16. @Consept Yes exactly, he has an incredible ability to be able to post this much content to be fair to him, but like you say the difference between him and fully self realised teachers is night and day. But, that is the issue 1000s clearly see him as a guru, and of course he's going to enjoy that at least a little, just depends to what extent, and that's where the dangers lie. Problem is now he has such a big following, and many depend on his teachings so to speak, and like you said young people are incredibly impressionable, I was about to embark on a psychedelic journey at 18/19 because of his teachings and because a lot of young people get into it anyways, so it felt normalised, that's where to me the real dangers lie, as people just aren't that responsible with drugs. And, you never know if certain people like Psyches too much they might turn to other shit to cope. I know many people who went Raves, started with MDMA, went on to Shrooms and Acid and then are popping Xanax and shit like that, I know Leo is not promoting that at all, but with young people it's easy to see how it could go. I mean look at Juice Wrld yesterday I know it's only psychedelics and people will say oh we would never do drugs like that, but young people who aren't feeling great might not want to wait 2 weeks for another trip or 3 months to take MD again, I used to be a big pusher of MDMA and Psyches but realised the dangers first hand. Again, not saying they aren't useful tools. @mandyjw Well yeah I get you, ultimately there is no other, so Leo is only teaching himself, however I'm not sure he's embodied that concept and teaching from the Self, like say Ramana clearly was. Therefore, I know what you mean, but there's so many teachers that begin to teach very early or after only a couple awakenings. In Leo's case it just seems its made things a lot harder as he's almost having to post videos every week which is a challenge in itself while on this journey. Like I said I feel for him on that point.
  17. @Nak Khid Not for me to say how Leo should spend his life, it's his life. However, I agree potentially doing too many things can make it very difficult for him, I love his PD and Politics videos the best. Maybe, he should give himself time to 'work' on his own awakenings, I can't imagine the burden that every time he has an awakening or goes online had 100s of questions of posts asking him about so many topics, that he might not fully have the answer to yet, compare that to the majority of people in this process who only have their own awakening to worry about, and will maybe begin to teach when they're ready.
  18. @ajasatya Okay,I suspect my wording was wrong, sorry for the confusion. Yes, of course you are your own guru and responsible for your awakening. But, what I mean is many people/ teachers will study/ work with a teacher who helped them awaken (Unless they had a spontaneous awakening e.g. Ramana) for example Rupert worked with Francis, many worked with Nisgardatta etc etc, what I mean is I'm not entirely sure his method of 2 hour long videos and psyches promotion is the best way to go about this work, personally I feel working 1-1 with a teacher is by far the best way to do this, unless you're lucky enough to awaken spontaneously, but even then that can come with it's difficulties. By the way, I don't mean Guru worship in this like the old days, or becoming part of a cult, just utilizing a Self-Realized beings teachings to 'push you over the edge' so to speak. Sorry if my wording came across poorly, but I believe teachers 'can do shit' and help their students awaken, but yes you are your own guru.
  19. Here's an honest critique @Leo Gura Before I want to say thank you for the many awesome teachings you provide, especially on PD and Politics I found them the most useful, and for this forum which is another great thing you have developed, so for all the ways you helped I'd like to say thanks, and this isn't to shit on you but is based on my own opinions, members of the forum I talk to regularly and then some people outside this forum who know of you and watch you. These are based on your spiritual teachings. 1) You teach based on insights it seems- Been said already, so won't go into much detail, the embodiment of your trips leaves much to be desired, and that is the main 'issue' I have with psyches, you've clearly had incredible insights, but It doesn't come across that you live these in your day to day life at all, and I just want to point out these amazing insights from Psyches are great, but it's the 'permanent' changes that really have improved my life 1000 fold, from my minimal Psyche experience they were great and gave some insights, but nothing compares to the immovable silence I feel now. 2) Risk of promoting Psychedelics to those under <25 - I'm not demonizing psyches, of course they can be awesome, but the way you talk about them, you make out as if everyone who's 'pursuing' enlightenment needs them, which is far from the case, you're probably one of the only, if not the only, teacher pushing them and promoting them so heavily, these are still drugs. I saw someone on here saying how they had to go to rehab due to psychedelic abuse and was really struggling in life, you have to remember a lot of people that come on here are going to be going through emotional/ mental issues, so immediately recommending someone to use psychedelics is risky. I personally know someone who ended up in a mental hospital on 2 separate occasions after an Acid trip, as after he couldn't stop seeing his Dad, who has passed away, so for people doing them please be careful, especially if you're under 25 as our brains aren't fully developed. Also, many people on here are not ready for the level of responsibility that comes with using those sorts of drug, while you can be responsible Leo it doesn't mean the kids and teenagers and young adults who follow you can, and many will simply copy you due to the position they are in, I was so close to doing just that, but am beyond glad I pursued a different path which for me has worked amazingly. Again, not shitting on Psyches but everyone here makes out they're the only/ best thing on this path, which simply isn't the case. For some maybe but not all, think about all the great masters and recent masters, how many used Psyches? Food for thought. If they work for you, great I'm glad 3) Concepts Concepts Concepts - I would love to know how many people you've directly awakened Leo, I suspect it's not very many, as your videos on spiritual topics tend to be hours upon hours of concepts, and yes I understand the need for theoretical foundations and understandings, especially for beginners. But, there becomes a time when all concepts must be burned, even the concept of enlightenment. Theoretical knowledge is nothing compared to actually living this teaching and surrendering yourself to the now truly. Words are merely pointers, and Silence is the highest teaching of all, Ramana only 'invented' self-inquiry for those who weren't ready for silent transmissions. Your mind will NEVER understand the absolute, it cannot, as anything is spoken about the absolute is 100% false, you cannot utter a word about it that is true. Sometimes, it feels as if you use your videos as a way to get your social needs met, I understand it's easy to do, but have you potentially neglected your human needs due to this work, you mention you don't work out anymore also, remember we are Human (cue a non-dual backlash here), and these are important things to take care of in our lives, if anything true self-realization makes you more human and more yourself than ever before. And, like I said, concepts and words are great to help, but the true teaching is merely silence and if you're still trying to understand it with your mind, you'll be chasing your tail forever, I know as I was doing just that for almost 2 years and if anything I only got further and further away. 4) Teaching without being truly awakened/ self-realized- This one I feel for you on Leo. You positioned yourself as a teacher so early in your journey, then let's be real you were as confused as everyone else, the burden of having 100's if not 1000's of people waiting for your every word on this topic must be very draining, when you yourself were only at the start of your journey back in 2016 I think it was. This can create a huge issue for you and your followers. Even now, it's hard to say you're truly self-realized, if you think I'm being critical, watch/ read some of the great recent masters such as Ramana/ Nisgardatta or for more western feels Rupert Spira/ Francis Lucille/ Adyashanti who are all clearly fully self-realized. I am biased to my own teachers who are also amazing, but I won't mention as I feel that would be slightly biased lol. There are clear differences in the teachings, clear as day, which is why I say there are much better teachers out there for this work in my opinion. But, Leo your perseverance and determination in this work are admirable! 5) If you don't agree with Leo good luck lasting on this forum- A couple people you've gradually wormed out of here, I understand it's your school and you can promote what you believe in but it seems slightly unfair to ban people who were helping people on here, but it's your forum so I guess that is fair. I think I'll stop there. Like I said I have a lot to thank you for Leo, especially those Spiral Dynamics and Conscious Politics series, among many other great videos you have done. But, like anyone you aren't perfect and I certainly am not either, neither are my teachers etc etc. But, if I'm honest I feel there are quite simply 'better' (frowned upon word in this community) 'spiritual teachers' (In reality there's nothing to teach because THIS IS IT) out there who will help awaken people, let's say more efficiently. Maybe, that's not the best term but I hope people get what I mean, if someone was to ask me for teacher recommendations regarding Awakening I know who I'd send them to, but if they were to ask for Personal Development, Politics foundations or even Life Purpose advice Actualized.org would certainly be a recommendation. I hope this doesn't result in a ban or whatever and I hope we can still have some great discussions on here Leo, I know you disagree with a lot of things I've said too, and I still look forward to the Capitalism vs Socialism video when it comes out Have an awesome day everyone.
  20. @Nak Khid I agree, you can have teachers and learn from people, without being loyal and worshipping them.
  21. @How to be wise Yeah they're deep but if your just after Non-Duality teachings I hate to break it to you there's much better teachers out there. I'm not debating Leo's teachings go very deep, but just take a look around here, how many people are actually awakened lol, see a lot of trip reports but not many permanent enlightenment/ awakening/ full self-realization reports. Not shitting on the forum, I think it's a great area for discussion, but Leo simply isn't the only non-duality teacher who goes deep, and there's many better than him imo. I mean the person in your DP is probably a much better place to start. Think of the great masters like Ramana and Nisgardatta and in more modern terms Rupert, Francis Lucille and Ramaji and potentially tens if not hundreds more are better at this. Again, I'm not shitting on Leo, he's incredibly young and has positioned himself as a teacher probably too early before he was even remotely awake, and there's thousands of young people with no clue about this getting incredibly confused, it's a hard situation for him, incredibly hard. But, I don't think it's as simple as 'you don't get these teachings,' plenty of teahcers go just as deep, and have had much more time to truly embody their awakenings and aren't teaching from insight alone. I also strongly disagree with his main recommendation being Psychedelics especially when talking to a very young audience, yes they can give incredible insights but to deny the risks is very naive. Again, I have great respect for Leo and his teachings, certain videos have helped me a lot, but he's far from perfect especially as a 'Spiritual Teacher.'
  22. Just thought I’d share this amazing council estate I came across on FB that clearly employs long term thinking, and is hugely benefiting thousands of people. its created an amazing community also by the seems of it, the UK defo need something like this, our council estates are looked down upon and mostly areas where crime and poverty is highest, nothing like what you see in the video, another European country showing how it’s done.
  23. I like aspects of Actualized.org, but agree his devout followers basically agree with every word he says. Leo is an awesome PD teacher, his SD and Politics series were great to say the least. Is he a great spiritual teacher? I’m not too sure on that one yet, it’s early in his journey but right now I could suggest much “more helpful” teachers in terms of spiritual growth than Leo. I feel for Leo though, he’s had to teach from day 1 of his journey near enough, and let’s be real he was teaching without actually being awakened, which comes with a huge set of problems. If Actualized.org is your only source or has been your only source of spirituality, I feel really sorry for you, that’s all I’ll say. Again, amazing for PD and conceptual things, that’s Leo’s strong point. This isn’t meant to be me slagging off Leo, I enjoy a lot of his videos and what he’s created is awesome, but from speaking with several people on here, a couple in the Spiritual community etc, and my own direct experience, and even just looking at the “results” you see on here it’s very clear that there’s much, much more effective Spiritual teachings out there. But as I said it’s still really early doors for Actualized.org in terms of spiritual teachings, so it would be unfair to judge overall I feel
  24. @ivankiss Top post, it goes full circle as you say and then what’s left- this! Glad you’re going back to living your life man. Instead of Reading Ramana Maharshi you might go back to reading Tony Robbins or Napoleon Hill to help improve your business lool, strange how it goes full circle! Hows the trading going btw mate?
  25. @Nickyy i completely agree with basically every point you’ve made. here in the UK Amazon pay fuck all in tax, yet exploit workers for the fun of it, it’s a bit of a joke, and the worry is if we clamp down on tax under Corbyn they’ll just go elsewhere and then 1000s of jobs could be lost. These companies have far too much power as it is. but people just saying to boycott them also seems a bit unpractical. like I said I can’t just stop selling on amazon, as they are such a huge platform. Power of these companies needs to be reduced, and workers need to actually be treated fairly, but it seems we’re a long way from that, change can be frustratingly slow at times. Yeah, hence Ideological green isn’t the answer, just to abolish all of capitalism as it ignores the upsides of their “enemy” as many ideologies do unfortunately.
