  1. Bummer, I'm 80 miles north of SD.
  2. @wisdom-seeking man Go to the Start Here tab on the site read through the whole page. Identify the areas you want to work on and research them via videos, books, etc. Here is a blog video I think most people missed that I found useful: https://www.actualized.org/insights/requisite-variety-and-creative-laziness Go to the tab All Videos > Foundational and watch those. You could also just start with Leo's older videos and work your way to the newer stuff. One dating book that isn't on Leo's list is Models: Attracting Women Through Honesty By Mark Manson. Best dating book I've ever read. Dating: books 1, 2, 3, & 10 Emotional Mastery: books 3, 6, & 7 Productivity: books 1, 3, & 4 Dealing With People: books 4 & 6 I love the audiobook version of The Autobiography Of Benjamin Franklin. He is a great role model. Here is the link if you are interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WUGFADO/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_taud_p1_i0 For Life purpose, I can't recommend Leo's Ultimate Life Purpose Course enough. Life changing.
  3. @Corey11 I recommend the following: Go to the Start Here tab on this site and read through the whole page. List the things you are interested in most and focus on those areas first. I personally wouldn't give up the meditation practice. Look into adding a contemplation, self-inquiry, yoga (meditation using focused breathing), etc. to go along with your meditation practice for 'better' results in your spiritual journey. Leo recommends contemplating the ideas he shares in his videos, rather than just watching them. He has a few contemplation videos for more on this. Leo posted a blog video titled Requisite Variety and Creative Laziness. It's a good video you might have missed: https://www.actualized.org/insights/requisite-variety-and-creative-laziness Check out Leo's book list and read lots of books. You shouldn't rely on Leo for all your information. Leo's vids are great, but doing research on your own is essential. A commonplace book is a great way to organize your notes & track your progress:
  4. SD is good and very popular but is mostly focused on society. It has helped me a ton. Ken Wilber covers more bases with his integral model so I would read him too. I also recommend Susanne Cook-Greuter's 9 Stages of Ego Development. You can download it as PDF. Leo has a 3 part series on it if you haven't seen it.
  5. @BartekD Life is too short to be doing something you aren't passionate about. Follow your heart. If you feel that doing this is representing Who You Are, then do it. If you feel obligation and resistance about it, then let it go. "Search your feelings... you know it to be true."
  6. @ertopolice The more you want something, the more you push it away. Act and think as though you already have all you need. You are already doing this but in a negative way. You say to yourself: "I am struggling, I need this and I'm missing that." Your thoughts are creating your reality. When you want something, the universe says: "okay, you want this." When you say to yourself: "I am struggling," then you create your struggle. Your thoughts create your experience. Pay attention to how you talk to yourself. Start using "I am" statements and let go of "I want" or "I need" statements. The latter are statements of lack (future oriented), where the former is a statement of what is (Present/Now). The present is all there is. Also, I recommend watching Leo's Blog Video called Requisite Variety and Creative Laziness. It's on page 7.
  7. @Elsiedottie Great question, there are so many ways to do this. I will list some things that have helped me and see what resonates with you. -Take care of your body: Eat a healthy diet and exercise daily. -Surround yourself with people that make you feel good about yourself and distance yourself from people who treat you poorly or make you feel bad about yourself. -Read lots of books! Becoming more knowledgeable and wise in all areas of life will make you more confident and will help you to relate and get along with a much broader range of people. (I recommend purchasing Leo's book list) -Work with a voice coach ***-Work with a Life Coach: Transformational Coach, Relationship Coach, or Confidence Coach.*** -Travel -Leo's Life Purpose Course, find and do something that you are passionate about. The most attractive and confident people are passionate about their work. Find your Domain of Mastery and Zone of Genius. (Nothing will increase your confidence more than living a life On Purpose) -Start a meditation habit -Research and study confident people from history. Biographies and videos of people you admire. List the qualities they have and commit to developing them in yourself, no matter what. When your desire is high enough, the how doesn't matter. You will find a way. Some inspiring people for me: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Muhammed Ali, Winston Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt. ***-Watch Leo's video on Self-Love. Self-Love is always the answer.*** Hope this helps you.
  8. @Jon_Bundesen Write out a list of questions that you can 'dream' or vision about. Set a timer for 5-30 minutes, ask yourself the questions and then imagine the results and the feelings you will create when you achieve your goal. Do this everyday for 60 days in a row. Don't miss a day. Here are some example questions, but make sure to come up with some of your own. How will I feel in my body after I stop overeating? What unforeseen benefits might I attain when I overcome my addiction? How will my relationship with myself change? Will I have more respect for myself? How will I look? --- I believe Leo explains how to do visioning in this video. Also, he shows you how to Vision in his Ultimate Life Purpose Course. It's worth the money if you're interested.
  9. @Onelove I am finishing it up right now. It will change your entire life if you do the work. Can't recommend it enough.
  10. @soos_mite_ah Contemplate why you feel you need to work on yourself constantly and neurotically. Look within rather than without.
  11. @mmKay BJJ can help you learn to self-reflect and contemplate. Also, it feels good to be able to handle dangerous people should they confront you. If you can avoid a dangerous encounter, then do so. Confrontation should be your last resort. You never know what the person has as far as diseases, weapons, training, drugs, etc. Plus all the legal ramifications. If you plan to arm yourself with any kind of self defense tool or practice, you would be wise to seek out training from experts. Also, research laws in your region to understand laws and punishments should you have to use force. I used to think about this constantly. I was fearful of people and the world because I was picked on in school. Nothing too brutal, but it made me wary of people and started to see everyone as potential threats. It was very unhealthy and neurotic. I don't know why you are asking about this topic and I don't want to project my situation onto yours, but I would ask myself this question: "Is my motivation coming from a place of fear, or is it from my values, principles, and desire to grow?" Hope this helps.
  12. @Value I once tossed my lunch bag into a trash bin from 30 yards when I was in high school.
  13. @ucan99 The Book of Not Knowing & Pursuing Consciousness By Peter Ralston. Also, research Ken Wilber's books and read whatever appeals to you. He is as meta as it gets with regard to books.
  14. @rnd You are stuck in a scarcity mindset. Perhaps you fear that others will become more intelligent and powerful than you. Maybe you think of yourself as a genius and can't handle someone else being "superior" to you. Or maybe you fear teaching others because they would think your woo-woo. These are just two possibilities, but notice how your ego is trying to preserve itself, to survive in it's current state. Contemplate why you don't want to help others. See Leo's video's on contemplation, Ego, and survival.
  15. @SS10 Read Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch. HE will explain it for you.
  16. @Sandy6 Watch Leo's blog video titled Requisite Variety and Creative Laziness and take notes. It's on page 7. Also, read the books in the Creativity and Doing Your Art section of Leo's book list. Nobody can tell you what your purpose is, and you don't have some genetically ingrained purpose that you were born with. You must contemplate what's important to you, and create a new niche in the marketplace. Idea's: create some way of making social media more conscious, or help conscious small businesses with their marketing. (Stage Green Marketing)
  17. Leo is writing a book for those of you who don't know. See Leo's blog post from Feb 5 from 108:35 to hear him talk about it. I am very interested in reading it and want to rally support to encourage Leo to focus more of his time on his book, which he says will be the most important book written to this point in history. An arrogant claim, yes (lol), but I would like to see what that looks like sooner rather than never and I would imagine everyone else might too. Please Vote Above!
  18. @Yarco Yeah that's what he mentioned, balancing the different aspects more evenly.
  19. @Steelheart He just posted a blog video 3 days ago explaining what he's been doing and what his plans are for the website moving forward. I would say a new video will be out this Sunday.
  20. @SamC Learn to let go of your family/society's expectations of you and become an independent thinker. This is easier said then done obviously. This will require lots of work but will be worth it. Finding your Life Purpose is also super important so I recommend checking out Leo's course on that. Here is a survey if you want to find out about your personality: https://www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu/home And another model to check out: https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/how-the-enneagram-system-works Some books to read: Shadow Dance https://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Dance-Liberating-Power-Creativity/dp/1570624445/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1PBVTEIU87GV4&dchild=1&keywords=shadow+dance+david+richo&qid=1612802927&sprefix=Shadow+dance%2Caps%2C255&sr=8-1 Models: Attracting Women Through Honesty - (good for dating but also for social skill and mindsets in general) https://www.amazon.com/Models-Attract-Women-Through-Honesty/dp/1463750358/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2JAS5L3R8ZGFJ&dchild=1&keywords=models+attracting+women+through+honesty&qid=1612802362&sprefix=models+attracting%2Caps%2C269&sr=8-3 How to Have Confidence and Power In Dealing With People https://www.amazon.com/Have-Confidence-Power-Dealing-People/dp/0988727536/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2VLNYKPG613MP&dchild=1&keywords=how+to+have+confidence+and+power+dealing+with+people&qid=1612802386&sprefix=How+to+have+con%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-3 Conversations With God 1-4 https://www.amazon.com/Conversations-Neale-Donald-Walsch-Collection/dp/9123797223/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1A6VEUXCYAN4S&dchild=1&keywords=conversations+with+god&qid=1612802412&sprefix=conversations+%2Caps%2C389&sr=8-3 Ken Wilber Is an author to look up as well: A Brief History Of Everything Integral Psychology A Theory of Everything Religion of Tomorrow
  21. @Rilles @DMM710 Here are some authors that talk about it. Noam Chomsky Francis Fukuyama
  22. @Mihajlo Toviovic Energy Leadership is a really good one (coaching book). Also, How to Have Confidence and Power in Dealing With People. These aren't necessarily about teaching, but powerful nonetheless.
