  1. @spiritual memes Are you feeling annoyed because you want other users to value connection in dating more?
  2. @Carl-Richard Is there a discipline you'd recommend that is alike sociology but which has more construct awareness? Also, did you get your views re construct awareness and Spiral dynamics from a certain book? If so, would you be willing to recommend it?
  3. Ohhhh fairs, i thought it was most of the dudes tryna beat on you
  4. Hit and don't get hit! I think the mayweather approach is goated. And Yoooo I absolutely love the pull counter!! I used to try and train it when sparring, only managed it one time. But was pretty excited when I did! I rate Crawford too and inoue. Haven't heard of Teofimo
  5. @EdgeGod900 I think its likely an example of the dunning kruger effect from them. I can imagine why people would doubt the complexity of it. I find that to be one of the key beauties of Boxing. The ability to bring such order to apparent chaos. This video is something that comes to mind for me when I think about an example of boxing bring such order to chaos: I feel in awe because it meets my need for beauty. Also, the vid, especially in combination with the backing track, gets me hyped! Rn Mayweather is my favourite boxer.
  6. I've watched around 45 minutes of this video, and another video on this channel. When I've been watching this, I've noticed I've felt encouraged and refreshed because my needs for trust and hope are better met. I especially like how Jon Bernthal holds the space.
  7. Hey @Fuku , I notice that you said that maybe this is just a break. And, that maybe your energy and will are pretty much dead at your age. Further, that if you had to make something, it should've been earlier. It sounds to me like you are feeling dejected because your need for hope regarding your future is not being met. Am I correct?
  8. Hi all. So, I'm very persuaded by the post-structuralist point of view. Leo's video on the matter seems to show Leo is also of the same opinion, and many other users on here seem to be the same. To my understanding, one of the implications of such a point of view is the rejection of all grand narratives. To my mind, it follows that things like spiral dynamics, stages of ego development, attempts at political analysis made in terms of ego, or really any attempt at analysis of situations must too be rejected. For, to my mind, they are modernist models, attempting to portray some grand narrative. However, on the forum we do not reject these things, and have long discussions about them, including Leo. I find value in many of these analytical models. However, I can't personally reconcile how one could see them an anything but aritrary if one is also committed to a postmodern position. I welcome perspectives on this. Thanks in advance.
  9. Maybe what you say is true. I presume you have the view of Sweden that you do because you reasoned your way to that view based on evidence. I'm trying to understand what evidence it was that led you to your view. If there is sufficient, reliable evidence, then I will agree with your view. I do not live in Sweden so I cannot get evidence with my own experiences there. Unless I move to Sweden, which I don't want to do atm. Hence, why I would like to see the evidence that backs up your views. For example, the source of your statistics. Would you not agree that it is important to make sure that the source of someone's statistics are reliable? Or that someone's statistical claims are accurate?
  10. Do you have a source for that statistic? That specific crime sounds horrific to me.
  11. @Eph75 I'm just looking to understand your argument atm. If you tell me what evidence you base your view on, I will better understand your argument.
  12. @Epikur Which part of the article would you like me to look at?
  13. What evidence do you have for mass immigration being the reason sweden isn''t a fun place to be right now?
  14. @D2sage Lool you have a link to an article that talks about the male tax?
  15. @spiritual memes You're welcome dude. And, I understand re finances.
  16. @spiritual memes If you are having issues with extreme parts blending, I'd consider using the technique of observing your thoughts and emotions. And, whilst doing so, internally voicing, 'They are thinking X', and, 'they are (or seemingly are) feeling Y'. I find it helps me unblend more effectively. Also, I know some prominent IFS therapists recommend working with an IFS therapist when it comes to exiled parts. Anyhow, hope things are well :)
  17. I get the confusion. However, its not really a constitutional monarchy in substance. The head of state in the UK (formerly the queen) has no substantial powers when it comes to effecting legislation. When legislation is passed in the house of parliament (and receives assent from the house of lords - though this isn't necessary), then the final stage is for the head of state to sign off on the legislation. However, this is just a tradition. If the head of state ever decided not to sign off on the legislation, then, to my mind, there would be a constitutional crisis, and the whole system would likely be reformed.
  18. Imo, ye boxing has some really useful aspects to it. I myself competed various times when I was younger. If taken seriously, I don't think any other sport gives you the same level of fighting mindset. However, instantly I'm getting a red flag from your current gym. You say you haven't boxed for a while and go to one session at this new gym where you get punched a lot in the head. And that the other lads don't hold back. That doesn't sound like smart or healthy training to me. These other guys should be holding back. Respectable gyms will instruct their boxers to work with newbies. I've been to a fair few clubs and have consistently found that clubs that are run in the way I think yours are are both unsafe and counter-intuitively not very good at teaching boxing. I've seen a dude end up with a brain bleed in the ICU from one of them. So, I'd advise checking out another gym. Btw, imo, if you wanna get really good at boxing, put a lot of deliberate practice into learning technique and ringcraft. Precision striking has some gold videos.
  19. I get it to some extent. However, I don't mind as much as I used to nowadays re arrogant behaviour, as I understand you cannot be fulfilled when operating from a paradigm where you believe you are intrinsically better than other people. You can't fully connect with people either. People are punished by their very own arrogance
  20. I used to do this sometimes too. Especially at work lol. To my mind, humming has similar effects to Peter Levine's voo breath. Essentially, helping you regulate. https://flourishcounseling.co/trauma-care-voo-breathing/
  21. I won't say where exactly. But I'd say where I am right now. I'm perceiving that I'm in the best place with regards to my future than I think I've ever been. And, that translates into my current place being my favourite place to live! I think its because when you have more of your personal needs met, you can appreciate things more.
  22. Interesting perspective dude. I think there's some great aspects to what you are saying. By following your idea, you could theoretically be constantly growing as a person. However, I'd be cognisant about whether you would be able to live an integrated life that way, in the long term. I don't think you could. I think its important to allow some time to relax. Not to say you shouldn't have standards for how you relax. I.e. I don't think a brazzer's premium subscription would be the healthiest thing ;). However, having time where you place no expectations on yourself, and you can do whatever you like is a lovely part of life, imo. For one person that could be socialising with close friends, who you are just enjoying spending time with and goofing around. Or another watching some old movies they like. But anyhow man I rate the determination to grow!
