  1. Only the present defines you. The past defined your present. The present will define your future.
  2. The inventor of Bitcoin solved a very hard technical problem. Bitcoin creates a decentralized system in which no third party can mediate your will. The technology behind bitcoin will be here for the next thousand years. The Bitcoin brand itself, I am not so sure.
  3. Few more years of Trump and the USA will go from green to red.
  4. It amazing to see that people that I admired in my childhood, now have become childish.
  5. If you don't focus on the breath at all, how do you know you have a cessation of breath? I am not invalidating your claim, just questioning it. Also, how long does it take to a state where you can hold your breath for 2 hours? Few years? @XeRnOg No need to be hostile toward others. We are not dumb bots. Some of us are quite clever.
  6. When you start to project your Guru in the clouds, it is time to reflect on your projections. The kingdom if of Heaven is within, not outside in the clouds.
  7. Yes, If you force isolation on yourself when you are not ready could result in ego backlash. Take your time to evolve, but make sure you are evolving and no devolving. @pdude Age is just a number. At some point, we realize that its the maturity that matters more than the age.
  8. I think the harder question would be: how do you share it? There is no way to share profound knowledge without sounding like an insane person. Whatever you say will be misunderstood or judged.
  9. gesundheit.- used to wish good health to a person who has just sneezed.
  10. Every person is the center of its own universe. The universe is like a fractal, and you are a central point in that fractal. Other people are just other points on the fractal. From their POV they are the central point in the fractal. Other people can have an effect on you, but they cannot destroy the center. So, if someone experiences a maha-samadhi, your center of experience will be unaffected.
  11. Is this a reference to the Uberman(Übermensch) of Nietzche? To become enlightened, you must give up everything. "Normal" people surrender themselves into Nothing because that is what they have. Wealthy enlightened people also surrendered everything. They surrendered their time and sweat to make the lives of others better. As a result of their surrender, they received wealth.
  12. On average, girls are more mature mentally than the guys of their age. That is why girls topically date guys that are older than them. There are deep biological reasons for this, but I will not elaborate on the details here. Having friendship is beneficial, absolutely. We are social animals and we need the company of others. So try to find people that you can resonate with, people that have common ideals and goals. Those are the type of people that will understand you, and you will understand them. My last comment was for those who seek enlightenment. If it was not relevant for you, then it was relevant to someone else who was reading this thread.
  13. Morality is created by the weak to neutralize the strong. Morality is used by the strong to protect the weak. Thus, morality is the modality through which power is distributed equally between the strong and the weak.
  14. Meditation helps. It increases the baseline of your happiness. I relapse into ego state often because I live in the world. Nothing is permanent. Not even enlightenment.
  15. Be happy without conditions. Be loving without conditions. Be thankful without conditions. Be accepting without conditions. If you put conditions on yourself, you limit yourself to how happy, loving, accepting, and thankful you are. To be all those things without pre-conditions is the hardest thing in the world. But that is the price for happiness.
  16. Crying alone on the street won't make him happy. Realizing that he doesn't need anything but the present moment to be happy, will make him happy.
  17. To want to have something means that you don't have it. If you had it, you wouldn't want it. You cant have unconditional happiness when you condition it on having something or achieving some state.
  18. The Netherlands. Highly developed economically. Survival needs are taken care of. It is the most liberal democracy in the world. Prostitution is legal, drugs are legal, pretty much everything is legal. Liberal values are engrained in the culture so you will become more open-minded just by living here.
  19. It seems a lot of people on this forum can relate to you. So you can find people that you can relate to, but it won't be the same people that you related to in the past. This might be problematic for your relationships. People relate to others based on the commonalities in their interests. If you have something in common with others, you understand their point of view. If you like jazz music, for example, you can easily relate to people who also like Jazz music. It is your common interest that binds you together. Lots of people on this forum are doing self-actualization work so here you will find others that you can relate to. If you are more mature than people your age, you will have more in common with people who are at your age of maturity. So don't refuse the advances of others just because of their age, but look at their level of maturity. Lastly, if you are pursuing enlightenment, realize that you will have to deconstruct you ego completely. It is your ego that seeks others to relate to, it is the ego that seeks to belong to a group, it is the ego that wishes to be accepted and understood by others. To "achieve enlightenment" you have to go through a period when you can't relate to other people because that is the way you starve the ego.
  20. What were the results? I am curious... Did you do it for science?
  21. Not a depression but stagflation. There will be higher inflation coupled with stagnation of total economic output.
  22. Nobody can't help you understand anything if you don't understand it for yourself. Understand that you don't need the help of anyone. You can do it on your own. That is the highest understanding.
  23. https://tricycle.org/magazine/ten-oxherding-pictures/ Read the article above. Maybe it would make things more clear. It's hard to infer meaning from pictures.
  24. You have to interact with people based on their level of awareness. If you meet a cat on the road, you shouldn't yell at the cat that love is all that exists. Simply pet the cat and give it food. That is love.
