@Identity Feminism can be turned into an ideology for the ego to cling to, like any other set of ideas. That doesn't mean that there's no truth in feminism however. A lot of stage Blue and Orange men (and also women) would learn a lot from reading feminist ideas, so long as they have an open mind. It will get them to think more consciously about power dynamics and gender in society, something they usually wouldn't do otherwise.

Don't forget that treating taking harsh drugs like meth and heroin as criminal offences rather than a health concern causes all sorts of major problems for society and keeps people addicted. Being locked up in prison for being a heroin junkie helps no one, and in fact just costs society resources. If rehab was free and widely available, and addicts were sent there rather than prison, a lot of the destructive potential of hard drugs would be mitigated.

I share the same concern as Shadowraix. Maybe it could be an enlightening endeavour, and maybe my consciousness isn't high enough to see its obvious benefits, but as it stands my intuition tells me that it would be very easy for it just to descend into far-right/libertarian/communist/"us vs. them"/etc. shit flinging. Still, I'm open to being proven wrong.

Leo gives the Roman Empire as an example of Red, whilst then giving Medieval Europe as an example of Blue. Now, I'm sure Christianity changed society a bit, but from I gathered there was just as much civil war, backstabbing, usurping, etc. going on in Medieval Europe as there was in the Roman Empire. Also, wouldn't the Roman empire have exhibited stage blue characteristics? I imagine a lot of the citizens would've believed that Rome was "the best" that needed to be defended "at all costs", and that the order, hierarchy, traditions etc of Rome were beneficial and had to be upheld (in the face of opportunism and macchiaveliansim.) Sure, theologically Rome was more lax than the dogmatic stage Blue Medieval Church, but they still had the Cult of the Emperor and exalted Rome's culture above conquered cultures. Could someone break down the differences to me?

A yogi who found a respected guru at age 14, spent 15 years in a sacred cave that common folk weren't allowed to approach, had an experience of universal love and became enlightened at 29, and then went on to become a respected guru themselves, would probably reinforce the social ideas of "respected gurus", "common folk" and "sacred caves" in their teachings, especially if they didn't do any active work on their value systems and no matter how great their love for the universe was. Being enlightened and loving and having advanced social values aren't the same thing.

That makes sense. I forgot about the role of the Pope and the quasi-universal power he held over the lords of Europe, which didn't have analogue for the lords of Rome.

@kieranperez Ethnocentric green? I can imagine cult-like and exclusionary green, but I'm having a hard time visualising full-on ethnocentric green...

@Joseph Maynor If you're going to be so dismissive of other people's respectful criticisms of you, why are you even here? Why would you come to a Self-Actualization forum if you're not actually interested in Self-Actualization?

@see_on_see The Buddha - one of the most enlightened teachers ever - only entered parinirvana (final cessation of ego) after dying. There are enlightened beings who nevertheless delay their own full awakening until all other beings in existence have left behind ego. Having egoic experiences and being enlightened aren't mutually exclusive. Leo is enlightened. His journey is done (yet eternal at the same time.) You too can be enlightened like Leo, if you're dead serious about the work and put all your efforts into it. Also, don't forget that 99.99% of humanity will not reach enlightenment in this lifetime. There are infinite realm for people to go to after the death of this body, many of which will be far more conducive to awakening than this one, especially if they have been cultivating Love and Truth in this life. This isn't cruel or oppressive, this is just the way reality is set up.

@Truth Addict Who do you think Mexicans are? All 100% European settlers? No, they're a mixture of the European colonists and native inhabitant of Mexico, of whom the Aztecs were a part. When a Mexican cartel member gets "Azteca" tattooed to his chest, he has, ancestrally speaking, every right to do so.

@tedens If I may weigh in, I'd raise two points: 1. In an absolute sense, we are already enlightened - since we are part of Infinite Consciousness, which by definition is fully awakened, then it means that we, too, are by definition fully awakened. 2. On a more relative sense, I'd say it's possible for humanity to develop genetically and socially so that, in a few thousand year's time, we create a society that allows everybody to reach full awakening and embody it within just a few years, although being born enlightened might be a stretch. I get the impression that this may be the situation that some current extra-terrestrial civilisations are at, having gone through similar struggles of collective evolution that we are going through now. This is just my impression though, and it may be inaccurate.

@playdoh I'd imagine that most major US cities would have enough hip, socially-conscious Green people and events on that it would be possible to maintain a Green lifestyle. Places like Chicago, Pittsburg, Atlanta, St. Louis, Detroit, etc. would have lots of Green places in them, even if they're not as holistically Green like Seattle or San Francisco. EDIT: I'll just add that this is essentially what I do. I come from a major stage Orange city (not in the US but similar to US in lifestyle) but I mostly hang around the Green areas, and so am able to keep at a Green level of being.

@Truth Addict The Aztecs still exist, and in numbers dozens of times greater than they were when they had an empire. They're the modern-day Mexicans.

@tatsumaru All of these are 100% possible, it's just your level of consciousness (and hence your connection to Infinite Imagination) is too weak to realise them. Raise your consciousness and you will understand the truth of these things.

Stage blue people are attached so strongly to nationalism / religion / strongmen leaders because they are dealing with red and purple shadows. Have you ever heard someone say "What's stopping you from raping and killing if you didn't have a God judging you?" That's because they're struggling with urges to rape and kill that they don't know how to deal with without deferring authority to a divine judge. Because their consciousness is not developed enough, they literally cannot fathom a reason to not rape and kill beyond the threat of damnation. If they're shown true compassion (not the fake, glass-eyed "compassion" from religious cultists), it will plant seeds of growth within their consciousness, as their experience of reality is suddenly confronted by non-duality in action (being treated kindly by another for no reason other than the other identifies with them and their suffering.) This will, in time, help them let go of their conditioning and move up the spiral, as they feel more confident facing their shadows. My advice is just to be kind to your friend, OP. If politics is causing too much drama to discuss, simply put it aside. Your friend is struggling with a lot of devils. If he cannot listen to reasoned arguments, then he will listen to the universal language - love.

@Aakash Yeah, this is just my theory, and I don't want anyone to think it's the reality of things. Schizophrenia is a lot more nuanced than my post makes it out. It's just an idea I've come up with.

My theory is that schizophrenics are people who developed spiritual abilities in a previous life, but didn't also develop the necessary ethics / compassion / love to use these abilities for their true purpose (raising consciousness and creating discernment.) As a result, when they get born into this life, they are naturally tapped into the spiritual aether of the world (i.e. all the images and ideas people are creating), yet are unable to discern which images are illusionary and which represent something true, and so get caught up in the gross miasma of the collective consciousness ("I am Jesus!" "The FBI is spying on me using drones!" "Donald Trump is God!" etc.)

@Wekz I'd say focus on simply creating a relatively safe and stable place for yourself before you worry about anything else in that case. Focus on building up your ability to fulfil Maszlow's Hierarchy of Needs (Don't forget that love, warmth and comfort for yourself are needs.) Cut out as much distractions and unhealthy habits as possible. If you find yourself feeling demotivated to keep going, that's a good sign - it shows you that your ego is going through backlash, and hence that you're making progress. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
